3 Autumn (September November) Each year, starting in mid September, the koyo front slowly moves southwards northern Hokkaido stretching right through central and southern Japan, peaking in November. Autumn colours can be viewed right up until early December. Winter (December February) Winter is quite dry and sunny along the pacific coast and temperature rarely drops below 0 º C. SUICA Pre-paid IC Train Pass The Suica card is a prepaid e-money card for travelling in Japan. The Suica card can be used on the JR East lines in the Tokyo metropolitan area as well as subways, buses and the Tokyo Monorail that connects Haneda Airport and Tokyo. In addition to the Tokyo area, the Suica card can be used for some other transportation systems in the Sendai, Niigata, Hokkaido, Tokai, West Japan and Kyushu area. With the Suica card, there is no need to buy a ticket a vending machine. Just touch your Suica card to the ticket gate and the fare is automatically deducted your card.
