12 TAILGATING POLICY DeSales University encourages tailgating in a fun, family-friendly environment. While we want you to have an exciting experience, we ask that you be respectful of those surrounding you, being mindful of your choice of language and activity. Anyone who acts in a disruptive, disrespectful or disorderly manner will be asked to leave the area. Please keep music at a volume level that is respectful of your tailgating neighbors. Thank you. Outdoor Locations Tailgating is ONLY permitted in the following locations. - DeSales University Center parking lot. - Grassy areas around the baseball and softball fields. - Upper parking lot of Billera Hall along with the grassy areas around the building. - Track parking lot and grassy area surrounding the parking lot. - Tailgating is NOT permitted on any athletic field. 1 - You must provide your own tables, chairs, power strips and extension cords. 2 - Only grills permitted are propane. Open flames should never be left unattended. Grill must be a minimum of 15 feet from any building/field. 3 - Tents may be used without stakes. They must be secured and may not block sidewalks or driving lanes. 4 - Glass bottles are prohibited. 5 - Tailgates may last up to 90 minutes after the conclusion of the contest. Indoor Facility Billera Hall - Only in the event of inclement weather are tailgates permitted indoors. To arrange for a space please contact Gracia Perilli, Associate Athletic Director, at ext You must provide your own tables, chairs, power strips and extension cords. 2 - Glass bottles are prohibited. 3 - Tailgates may last up to 90 minutes after the conclusion of the contest. Clean Up (For Indoor and Outdoor) - Waste food items and trash must be disposed of in the appropriate receptacles. - If there is excess trash then please provide your own trash bags and place them next to the trash receptacles. Please make sure all bags are tied shut. - Leave the area clean. - If there is any damage to University property groups/persons will be responsible for repairs. 12

13 TAILGATING POLICY Alcohol - NO alcohol of any kind is permitted. Parking - All vehicles must park in the designated parking lot. No vehicles are permitted on grassy areas or sidewalks. - Depending on space availability, RVs are permitted. Please contact Gracia Perilli, Associate Athletic Director, at ext. 1218, to make arrangements. Pets - Pets are permitted on site. No pets are permitted on game fields or inside Billera Hall. - All pets must be on a leash. - Please be sure to clean up after your pet. - Animals may not be left unattended or secured to University property. Other Information - DeSales University and the Athletic Department reserve the right to restrict tailgating at any time. - DeSales University is not responsible or liable for accidents, damage, lost or theft of materials, items or personal property left unattended. - In case of emergency call 911. 14 SPECTATOR POLICY In the spirit of good sportsmanship and favorable spectator involvement at DeSales University athletic contests, fans are strongly encouraged to be loud, show a strong sense of Bulldog pride, but most importantly to be positive throughout the duration of the contest. To help guarantee model spectator conduct at sporting events, the following will be in effect for all home contests: 1. All alcoholic beverages are prohibited at athletic contests! Anyone attempting to bring alcohol into an athletic contest will not be admitted and anyone discovered in possession of alcohol at a contest will be immediately removed from the event. 2. Any person(s) using harmful language and/or displaying inciting actions at a contest will be warned by the Athletic department staff that continuation of the activity will result in their ejection from the contest. If the language and/or activity continues, the offending person(s) will be removed. In a particularly flagrant case of inflammatory language and/or inciting action, the offending person(s) may be removed immediately without a warning. These cases include harmful language aimed at the contest participants, officials, other spectators, or the management staff 3. Immediate ejection will take place if any spectator enters onto the playing area of the contest while the contest is in progress. 4. Any signs, banners, shirts, noisemakers, etc. deemed inflammatory by the contest management staff, or that are in violation of NCAA policies, will be removed. 5. Only sport information personal are permitted on or around the field of play to take photos during sporting events. For all fan and spectator safety we ask that everyone stay outside of the fence during the contest. 14

15 MAC CODE OF CONDUCT We expect conduct that exemplifies the best traditions of intercollegiate athletics. Coaches and student-athletes abide by the spirit and letter of the sport playing rules and are gracious in both victory and defeat. Competition is conducted in a nondiscriminatory manner that encourages enthusiastic, positive support of the participants and teams by all spectators. Profanity; sexist, ethnic, or racial comments; or, other intimidating actions will not be tolerated. Consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages, smoking, and the use of artificial noisemakers is prohibited. As hosts, we are responsible for providing the visitors with an environment that would meet our expectations if the roles were reversed. This is our home; please treat it as you would your own. 15

16 LIGHTNING POLICY DeSales University, in conjunction with the Middle Atlantic Conference and the NCAA have the following guidelines to keep spectators and athletes safe when lightning is nearby. When the first lightning strike is seen, the time of the delay will be 30 minutes. If another strike of lightning occurs in that timeframe, another 30 minutes will be added to the delay of the event. o Lightning strikes at 6 pm. Last flash of lightning is seen at 6:15 pm. At this point, the storm clearance would begin with the warm up starting at 6:45 pm. This means the game can resume at 7 pm, as long as there are no more flashes of lightening.
