4 FOOTBALL TAILGATE RULES & REGULATIONS WELCOME! Parking and Transportation Services is a fully self-funded auxiliary department of the University. By state law, no funds can be used to support parking from either the State or the University. Instead, we are tasked to generate the funds needed to provide, maintain, and regulate parking only from those that use the service. The following policies and procedure concerning parking, tailgating and fan conduct at The University of Texas at Austin are designed to help fans event planning and ensuring a family friendly, safe and enjoyable experience for all! Hook Em! If you have any questions or comments regarding this policy, please contact us by parking@ PURPOSE Provide a safe environment at all tailgating events. The goals and objectives of the Football Tailgate Policy is to ensure a safe enjoyable environment that will enhance and promote integrity, civility, ethical conduct and good sportsmanship amongst fans, students and visitors attending the tailgate events. TAILGATE POLICY The following policy and guidelines have been formulated and will be in effect for public safety. These rules are intended to be general guidelines. Parking & Transportation Services reserves the right to modify these rules at any time for the safety and effective administration of the event. POLICY ENFORCEMENT The University of Texas at Austin, UT Athletics, University Police Department and Parking & Transportation Services reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time inappropriate behavior will result in the permanent loss of all parking and tailgating privileges. At its discretion, The University Police may terminate tailgate parties, or take other appropriate actions toward individuals, groups or organizations whose conduct is in violation of or conflict with the outlined Football Tailgate Policy. Failure to comply with directions from The University Police or any UT official may result in eviction from The University of Texas at Austin property, without a refund of services. RESPONSIBILITY *The person(s) renting a space at Centennial Park is responsible for the conduct of their guests. No parking accommodations are made for guests near Centennial Park. Refer to the parking options on university property and parking options on state property for what is offered to the public on game day. Children should be supervised at all times please use extreme caution when driving into or leaving the parking lots. TAILGATE SIZE In parking lots Green spaces (grassy areas) within 15 feet of parking lots are reserved for fans assigned to those parking spaces.

5 5 * Tailgating set-up is limited to the space(s) that you have purchased at Centennial Park. Amenities such as grills and furniture must be utilized within your allotted space(s). Delineating perimeters ( staking ground ) for tailgate sites is prohibited at all times. Tailgater is to ensure that tents and canopies are anchored appropriately by utilizing sandbags, water barrels or weights. (Unanchored tents/ canopies can easily be blown over and present a safety hazard and/ or may cause damage to property). Do not anchor by placing stakes Any person damaging University property will be responsible for the cost of repairs; including damages to grass from cooking grease and sprinkler damage. TAILGATING TIMES Tailgate equipment may be set up no earlier than 7:00am on game day and removed no later than 6:00pm the day after the game. Claiming tailgate areas prior to 7:00am on game day is prohibited and may result in the loss of tailgating privileges. There are no exceptions to the tailgating time policy. Tailgating spaces in lots are first come, first served. However, in Centennial Park your paid reservations assure you of having access to your purchased space beginning at 7:00am on game day. CENTENNIAL PARK SPACE FEE* Reserved tailgate space(s) on Centennial Park are not guaranteed until full payment is received by the required deadline date. Centennial Park spaces will be filled by the season first and then any available spaces after that point will be sold on an individual game basis. Deadline for season spaces sales is July 15, 2013 and for individual game spaces sales is August 15, Payment by check is to be made directly to The University of Texas at Austin, Parking & Transportation Services department. A printed or copy of the approval, displaying your reservation confirmation must be included with your payment. Please mail this information to the address below. The University of Texas at Austin Parking & Transportation Services P.O. Box 7546 Austin, TX Cash payments are only accepted at the PTS Cashier Office located at 1815 Trinity Street (corner of Trinity Street and Martin Luther King Blvd.) Credit Card payments (Visa, Master- Card and Discover) can only be made online or in person. For online payment, an EID and password is required. Season Fees: Reserved spaces are not guaranteed until full payment is received by the required deadline date. The fee for a space in Centennial Park for the season is $300. Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card. All sales are final.* Individual Game Fees: Reserved spaces are not guaranteed until full payment is received by the required deadline date. Centennial Park spaces will be filled by the season first and then any available spaces after that point will be sold on an individual game basis. The fee for a space in Centennial Park for an individual game is $55. Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card. All sales are final.* There is no parking available near Centennial Park. Refer to the parking options on university property and parking options on state property (below) for what is offered to the public on game day. CANCELLATION* Please eparking@ to cancel your reservation. Doing so will allow another tailgater on the waiting list to take advantage of the Centennial Park space. A refund may be sent to you depending on when you cancel your reservation, see rates below. 15+ days prior to game day 80% refund days prior to game day 75% refund 8-11 days prior to game day 50% refund 7 days or less prior to game day No refund will be received. PARKING OPTIONS ON UNIVERSITY PROPERTY PRE-PAY LOTS: First-come, first-serve parking is available in lots 15 (along University Avenue), 16 (along Speedway), 17, 18, 25, 31, 92, 27th Street Garage (TSG), Speedway Garage (SWG), San Antonio Garage (SAG), AT&T Conference Center Garage (CCG) and Guadalupe Garage (GUG) beginning at 7:00am on game day. The parking fee is $15 per vehicle. All sales are final. ADA PRE-PAY LOTS: Available on a first-come, first-serve basis in lots, 11 (21st Street between Speedway and San Jacinto), 16 (24th Street between Speedway and San Jacinto), 20 and 80 beginning at 7:00am on game day. The parking fee is $15 per vehicle. All sales are final. Tailgater must not enter the tailgate space(s) prior to 7:00am on game day. This includes set up of any kind. Parking permits or paid receipt will be required for all vehicles entering the designated parking lots. PERMITS: Permits must be displayed at all times while on university property; depending on the parking permit issued, they must be hung from the rear view mirror or they must be placed on the dashboard. The parking permit entitles the permit holder to one parking space for his/her vehicle. PARKING OPTIONS ON STATE PROPERTY Open Lots: First Come, First Served Parking/Tailgate space ticket for Lots 6, 8, 11, 18, 19, and partial Lot 22 will go on sale on Friday at 6:00pm at the designated lots. 1.) All sales cash only. No checks or credit cards accepted for First Come, First Served Lots. 2.) A $7 tailgating fee will be charged per space, per day. 3.) Tailgaters may purchase a maximum of ten (10) tailgate space(s) per person, per event.

The Texas Facilities Commission and the Parking Contractor are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged confirmation permits and/or parking permits issued. 6.) Tailgaters utilizing Recreational vehicles (RV s), buses, trailers, box trucks and all vehicles should not exceed the parking spaces purchased. 7.) Tailgater is to ensure to view the lot maps provided and note that some spaces are only suited for compact vehicles or tent/tailgate setup (i.e. noted as 1A, 1B, 5C, etc.). The space must be reserved and paid for if you wish to utilize the space. More information can be found on the Texas Facilities Commission website at prog/fmd/parking/texas-tailgate-reservations/ *CENTENNIAL PARK SPACE PERMIT Space permits will be sent by US mail in August. Space location map will be sent along with your confirmation by to the address you provide on the reservation form. Your permit(s) will have your reserved space number indicated on it. Permits must be displayed and visible at all times. TRAVEL LANES/SIDEWALKS All sidewalks, drive lanes and fire lanes must be kept clear of all equipment and vehicles. Cords, satellite dishes, etc., must be confined to each tailgate space and cannot be stretched across sidewalks or drive lanes. Vehicles must be able to access parking spots via travel lanes. Also, for the safety of tailgaters, travel lanes must remain clear for emergency vehicles to pass. *Vehicles will only be allowed to drive on the sidewalks surrounding Centennial Park to unload/load tailgate equipment and then must be removed immediately. Failure to remove vehicles within a timely manner could result in a citation and loss of tailgating privileges. SELLING ON UNIVERSITY PROPERTY The University of Texas does not permit unauthorized soliciting or collecting of contributions, vending, distribution of fliers or other promotional/advertising materials on University of Texas property. Advertising/Sponsorship/Commercial Logoed Items on University Property Commercial activity or solicitations are not allowed on The University of Texas campus or property. This permit does not grant the holder any right to display advertising, banners, signs, or commercially logoed vehicles or to distribute promotional items at the designated parking lot or elsewhere on the University of Texas campus or property. Fans may be asked to remove inappropriate banners or signs. Violations of these restrictions may result in revocation of the holder s permit for future events. Any and all promotional activities, solicitation or advertising displays must be approved and contracted with UT Athletics multimedia rights holder, IMG College, prior to game day. Visit TexasSports.com for more information on the H-E-B Tailgater of the Game contest and how you can participate. PORTABLE TOILET Individuals may not arrange to bring portable restrooms onto campus. The University of Texas provides porto-lets throughout campus for the convenience of fans. Please ensure that friends and family utilize the portable facilities provided and not the university grounds, shrubs, garages, parking lots or Waller Creek. CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL The University of Texas at Austin shall not be held liable or responsible for any actions taken by the public or tailgaters while on state property or in regards to alcoholic beverage consumption. Individuals are responsible for compliance with all local and state laws governing alcohol consumption. TENTS Tailgater is to ensure that tents and canopies are anchored appropriately by utilizing sandbags, water barrels or weights. (Unanchored tents/ canopies can easily be blown over and present a safety hazard and/ or may cause damage to property.) Do not anchor by placing stakes. The use of stakes may result in the loss of tailgating privileges and result in fines and bills for any damages. Any person damaging University property will be responsible for the cost of repairs; including damage to the grass from cooking grease and sprinkler damage. If tents are being used, the tent shall be UL approved and have a Fire Resistive Rating Level. Tents used for grilling shall be completely open on all sides. Tents or canopies must be secured and may not obstruct sidewalks, drive lanes or pedestrian walkways. Tailgating amenities including furniture, grills, generators or satellite dishes, may not obstruct sidewalks, drive lanes or pedestrian walkways. The University of Texas at Austin is not responsible or liable for accidents, damage, loss or theft of materials/ items/personal property at any time. *Tailgating set-up at Centennial Park is limited to the spaces which you have purchased. GRILLING Groups may bring their own food and picnic items to their tailgate area. Grilling permitted. All fires must be contained within grills. Extinguish charcoal fires thoroughly with water before leaving them unattended. Be sure that charcoal from BBQ pits are cooled and taken with you, to be disposed of properly. do not leave or dump charcoal, wood or grease

7 7 in the trash cans, grass, shrubs, parking lots or the street drains. Any person damaging University property will be responsible for the cost of repairs; including damages to grass from cooking grease and sprinkler damage. GRILLING GUIDELINES: Guidelines for grilling and use of portable cookers in tailgating lots on The University of Texas campus, per the UT Fire Marshall, are: Barbecue grills/smokers and/ or deep fryers are not allowed inside the University of Texas buildings or parking garages. Barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers are not allowed to be attached, connected or in any way to be in contact with any vehicle. Barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers shall have lids or tops. Cooking on barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers shall be located a minimum 25 feet away from any building and shall not obstruct the ingress or egress from any building. Barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers shall be located a minimum 10 feet away from HVAC intakes. Barbecue grills/smokers and/ or deep fryers shall not be located on any sidewalk. Cooking on barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers shall be located a minimum 50 feet away from any building fresh air intake. Barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers shall be located a minimum 10 feet away from vehicles. Barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers shall be located a minimum 25 feet away from any flammable or combustible liquids or solids. The area within 10 feet of the barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers shall be cleared of all debris and grass shall be six inches minimum from the heating surface. PROPANE GRILLS AND CYLINDERS The maximum size propane gas cylinders allowed is 20 lbs. A maximum of one spare cylinders is allowed at any cooking location and shall be located a minimum of 10 feet from the cooking operation. While in use and in storage, propane gas cylinders shall be in the upright position or positioned so that the pressure relief valve is in direct communication with the vapor space of the cylinder. To properly extinguish charcoals, pour water on the charcoals and dispose of them in a metal container with a metal top/cover. Do not put charcoals in any trash receptacle/bin/ dumpster. Shut off valves prior to disconnecting propane cylinders from barbecue grills/smokers and/or deep fryers. Propane cylinders shall be removed from grills prior to storing the grill. Grills shall be fully cooled prior to storage, then properly secure and clean up your area. If tents are being used, the tent shall be UL approved and have a Fire Resistive Rating Label. Tents used for grilling shall be completely open on all sides. TOWING Any vehicles without a valid permit or pre-paid parking receipt visibly displayed in the vehicle before, during or after the game will be considered an unauthorized vehicle and shall be cited and towed from University property. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed or relocated at the owner or operator s expense. If your vehicle gets towed, you may contact for its location and payment of towing/relocation fees. GENERATORS Generators are allowed on campus. All generators must be equipped with a noise reducing device (manufacturerapproved cover or muffler). You should not be able to hear your generator much beyond the proximity of your tailgate site. Try to direct generator exhaust towards an open area like empty parking spaces or drive lane away from your immediate neighbor. Special care should be taken when managing fuel and extension cords affiliated with generators. Being a good neighbor is also recognizing and accepting the fact that you are in a University parking lot or park that is converted 6-7 weekends per year into tailgate area. Some people will be using a generator that will produce some noise. Please expect some noise, some BBQ smoke and extra traffic. We ask that you be reasonable in your expectations and tolerant of your neighbors. If we all follow this advice and are good neighbors and good Longhorns then we should be able to coexist and enjoy the tailgating experience together with few issues. PETS Pets are not allowed to run freely in the tailgate areas, they must be on a controlled leash. Animals shall not be left unattended or secured to university property. Pet owners are solely responsible for their pets and any damage or injuries that may occur. Ill-behaved pets or ones deemed dangerous, intimidating or destructive will be evicted and banned from University property. Clean up after your pet. TRASH & CLEAN UP Dispose of all trash in trash receptacles located in the RV lots, and park areas

8 FOOTBALL TAILGATE RULES & REGULATIONS or pack it out. The disposal of grease, hot coals or hazardous materials onto the grounds or into the storm drains is prohibited. Failure to keep the area clean during your stay or leaving your site unclean when you leave may result in fines and fees related to clean-up in addition to loss of tailgating privileges. GUEST CONDUCT The close configuration of tailgate areas requires that our guests be good neighbors and conduct themselves in a manner that provides for the comfort and enjoyment of all. The person who has reserved the site is responsible for the conduct of their guests. No parking accommodations are made for guests. Guests must purchase a parking space for their vehicle in areas designated for public parking. Refer to the parking options on university property and parking options on state property for what is offered on game day. The University of Texas at Austin, UT Athletics, University Police Department and UT Parking & Transportation Services department reserve the right to refuse service and to evict anyone from the tailgating areas at any time inappropriate behavior will result in the permanent loss of all parking and tailgating privileges. SECURITY & SAFETY It is the responsibility of each tailgate party to secure tailgate items. Tailgaters should lock food, beverages and valuables out of sight in vehicles; extinguish all fires or flames; unplug electrical outlets; secure barbecue pits, chairs, and ice chests; and store beverages in locked containers. The University of Texas at Austin is not responsible or liable for accidents, damage, loss or theft of materials/ items/personal property at any time. TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES & EVENT STAFF Do not remove or move barricades, barrels, chains, cones, signs or any other traffic control device. Entering a parking lot by driving over a curb is prohibited. Be courteous and respectful to all Parking & Transportation guards and event staff. Remember, we are here to help protect the space you have reserved and paid for. The University of Texas at Austin, UT Athletics, University Police Department and Parking & Transportation Services reserve the right to refuse service or evict anyone at any time inappropriate behavior will result in the permanent loss of all parking and tailgating privileges. LOST ITEMS It is the responsibility of each RV/tailgate party to secure all personal items. It is strongly recommended that you lock up your valuables. The University of Texas at Austin is not responsible or liable for accidents, damage, loss or theft of materials/items/personal property occurring in the RV lot. LOST & FOUND During and after the game all unclaimed items are to be turned over to the University Police Department. You may contact them at if you have any questions.
