Harbor Blvd., Ventura, CA (805) MEMORANDUM To: From: Fair Time Junior Livestock Camping Applicants Kim Leach, Exhibits Supervisor Subject: Application Procedures for Camping for the 2018 Ventura County Fair at San Buenaventura State Beach August 5-12, 2018 Ventura County Fair has secured a camping area at San Buenaventura State Beach for the Junior Livestock Show exhibitors. Camping privileges are limited to those who have a need in relation to their participation in the Fair. Fair camping is a privilege not a right. For those who can demonstrate a need, space is limited to 125 camping spaces. Preference will be given to exhibitors who reside 20 miles or more from the fairgrounds. All applications will be verified for distance. Camping application and camping fees must be received by Monday, July 2, 2018 by 5:00 PM. Applications may be mailed or hand delivered to the Fairgrounds Administration Office at 10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura, CA Faxed or ed applications will not be accepted. 1. All completed applications will be accepted and numbered in the order received. A waiting list will be established once 125 applications have been received. 2. Camping Fee for 4-H, FFA, Grange, and Independent Junior Livestock is $ for camping Sunday, August 5 through Sunday, August 12, Camping application must be filled out completely including type and size of camping unit. Camping Fee must accompany application. 4. Camping applications will be cross-referenced with livestock entries before checks are processed. Move-in schedule and instructions will be mailed after acceptance of application. 5. One camping space per family - no exceptions. 6. Junior exhibitors will not be allowed to camp without a parent or guardian present at all times. (For the purposes of camping privileges the Ventura County Fair considers minors those under the age of 21 years.) Curfew - all minors are to be settled in the camping area by 10:00 PM unless under direct supervision of parent/responsible adult. 7. The drinking of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the camping area. This pertains to adults, minors and guests of campers and are, subject to immediate dismissal from the camping area if violated.

2 8. No camping units may be parked in the campground area until a permit is obtained from the camping staff. Units without a permit will be towed at owner s expense. 9. For the duration of camping, no camping units or tow vehicles will be permitted to drive in and out of campground. All units must be removed by 10:00 PM on Sunday, August 12, 2018, no exceptions. Any unit not removed is subject to impound and/or penalty fees. 10. No hook-ups are available. Pumping Services will be available at cost per camping unit per service. Request for pumping service must be made with the camping manager the day before pumping service is rendered. You will pay the vendor directly at time of service. 11. No open fires or charcoal barbecues allowed. 12. Remember camping is a privilege, not a right. Violation of any rule or regulation is cause for immediate dismissal from the camping area. 13. Do not leave personal property unattended at any time. Please report any suspicious activity to the camping manager and/or security immediately.

Space is very limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. 1. One camping space per family, no exceptions. No extra campsites for family or friends. All applications will be cross-referenced with market entries. 2. Junior Exhibitors will not be allowed to camp without a parent or guardian present at all times. For the purposes of camping privileges, the Ventura County Fairgrounds considers minors those under the age of 21 years of age. 3. Curfew all minors are to be settled in their camping area by 10:00 PM unless under the direct supervision of a parent/responsible adult. 4. The drinking of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited in the camping area. The Ventura County Fairgrounds and State Beach have a strict zero tolerance policy for alcohol and drugs. Adults/Children in violation of this rule will immediately be dismissed from the camping area and will not be allowed to camp for the remainder of Fair. 5. No camping units may be parked in the campground area until a permit is obtained from the camping staff. Units without a permit will be towed at the owner s expense. Camping permit is for the camper only and not to be used in any other vehicle. Only one (1) parking permit issued per paid camping space. 6. All units must be removed Sunday, August 12, 2017 by 10 PM NO EXCEPTIONS. Any unit not removed is subject to impound and/or additional penalty fees. 7. No hook-ups are available. Pumping services will be available at cost per camper per service. Payment for pumping service is to be made to the truck driver, sign-up with Camp Manager the day before pumping service is rendered 8. NO WATER IS AVAILABLE AT CAMPING AREA. 9. A schedule will be established to move in camping units in small groups to prevent long waits, blocking of gates and roadways. Your cooperation and adherence to the move-in schedule is appreciated. 10. You will need to park where and when instructed. Any confrontation will result in you being asked to leave immediately and your camping fee refunded. 11. No open flames or charcoal barbecues allowed. Only propane barbecues allowed. 12. State Beach beachfront property contains a diversity of environmentally sensitive habitats that support a wide variety of animal and plant species some that are classified as rare or

4 endangered. For these reason campfires/bonfires, parties, loose pets or any other activities that would be detrimental to the beach are not permitted. 13. Dogs MUST be on a leash at all times. NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE BEACH AT ANY TIME. 13. If at any time, you or members of your camping unit do not obey the rules set forth, the members in violation will be required to immediately leave the premises and will lose camping privileges for You cannot drive in or out of the bus gate at the State Beach Park. We the undersigned, having read and understood the above, do hereby agree to abide by the above and all other rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Directors, Management of the Ventura County Fair and State Parks. We also agree to hold free and harmless the Ventura County Fair employees and volunteers from any and all claims of liability, injury or theft arising from out use of the camping area. 5 Additional Rules for Camping at State Parks NO - Open Fires NO - Charcoal BBQ s (Use State Beach Charcoal BBQ s only) Propane BBQ s Only in Camping Area NO - Beach Activities after Park Closes (Sunset) Quiet Hours are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, please do not disturb other campers, regardless of the time of day or night. Generators may be operated only between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet and under control at all times. They ARE NOT permitted in buildings or on the beach (except for service dogs). Dogs must be confined to a vehicle or RV at night. Vaccinations must be current. Noise: Radios and other sound-producing devices must not be audible beyond your immediate campsite, regardless of the time of day or night. Games that are disruptive to other campers or the environment are strictly prohibited. Theft Warning: Keep your vehicles locked and your valuables out of sight. Do not leave property out at night. Report suspicious activity to a ranger or camp host.

6 SUPERVISION OF MINORS Camping rules state that; junior exhibitors will not be allowed to camp without a parent or guardian present at all times. For the purposes of camping privileges, Ventura County Fair considers minors those under the age of 21. Ventura County Fair is happy to be able to provide a camping area to 4-H, FFA, Grange and other exhibitors so they can provide proper care for their exhibits. In the past, there have been some problems regarding unsupervised minors. In order to quell these problems it is absolutely necessary for those minors, under the age of 21, to be under the supervisor of a parent or guardian. This requirement is especially important after the hour of 10:00 P.M. Minors who are not properly supervised in the late evening hours may have their camping privileges immediately revoked by Ventura County Fair Management. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION The State Parks area contains a diversity of environmentally sensitive habitats, including dunes and sea life. These habitats support a wide variety of animal and plant species, some of which are classified as rare or endangered. The natural beauty, scientific and educational value of this area could be destroyed by human disturbance. Please refrain from entering and/or disturbing these areas.

NO vehicles will be allowed in or out of camping area after move-in is completed, until move-out begins. Violators may be subject to loss of camping privileges. 6.
