(307) FAX (307) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Thursday, May 19, 2016 Contact: Dr. Wenlin Liu, Chief Economist Evansville s Population Grew the Fastest in 2015 CHEYENNE The three most rapidly growing large cities and towns (2.5% or higher) in Wyoming between July 1, 2014 and July 1, 2015 are all located in Natrona County, according to population estimates released by the U.S. Bureau. These estimates provide a look at how much total population has changed in each of Wyoming s incorporated places since the For areas with population over 2,000, the town of Evansville demonstrated the fastest growth, 3.5 percent, followed by Bar Nunn town (3.1%) and Mills town (2.5%). The city of Gillette added the most population during the year, and it s the only city that showed a growth rate of over 2.0 percent. Cheyenne remained the state s most populous city and gained 475 residents. Cheyenne and Casper are still the only cities in the state with population over 60,000, and together with Gillette, they contributed 79.6 percent to Wyoming s total population increase from July 2014 to July As of July 1, 2015, 68.9 percent, or 404,066 people in Wyoming lived in incorporated places. Over 47 percent of the State s population lived in ten cities with population of more than 10,000. Overall, Wyoming s population grew by 0.3 percent from July 2014 to July 2015, slightly faster than the previous year rate. However, the growth rate for Wyoming s 10 largest cities and towns was 0.4 percent during the same period. There are 99 cities and towns in Wyoming.
