Therefore, please read and follow this gui completely. If your abilities do not match this procedure s requirements, contact an experienced contractor. Safety Glasses Pliers Phillips head screwdriver 7/64 Drill bit Drill 1. remove window latch assembly: Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two (2) screws from the window latch assembly. 2 2. separate insect screen from ventilating window: Depending on the age of your storm door, there may not be a rivet located between the two window latch mounting holes on the screen pull. If your storm door does not have a rivet in this location proceed to step Using a 7/64 drill bit, drill through the center of the rivet until the rivet head separates from the rivet body. STEP 2A DRILL BIT w a r n i n g The SliAway insect screen is stored insi the door with a highly tightened spring. If released, insect screen may release sudnly causing injury or product damage. Maintain a firm grasp when taching the insect screen from the window. INTERIOR VIEW STEP 2B/D RIVET A slight pull down and inwards will disengage the insect screen pull lip and window latch rail. Maintain a firm grasp when taching the insect screen from the window. Raise the insect screen slowly until the insect screen pull lip is at the top of the window opening. D. Move the ventilating window to the highest position, with the window latch rail just below the insect screen pull lip. WINDOW LATCH RAIL insect SCREEN PULL LIP 3. remove insect screen track retainers: Starting at the bottom, pull the right insect screen track retainer out from the door frame. Carefully move up the insect screen track retainer to loosen the entire retainer. To remove insect screen track retainer from the edge tab, sli the insect screen track retainer down. Use the same technique and repeat Steps 3A and B to remove the left insect screen track retainer. D. Set insect screen track retainers asi, to be re-installed later. Screen Pull Lip STEP 3 Edge Tab insect Screen Track Retainers 4. remove center mullion screws: Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two (2) screws from the center mullion. Set the screws asi, to be re-installed later. STEP 4 #8x3/8 screw center mullion 2

3 5. remove stationary window: Starting at the top of the window, carefully pull the upper right hand corner of the window towards you. Remove the arrow retainer point from the retainer until half of the window is freed. The center mullion is not shown for visual clarification. Repeat for the other si of the door. Support stationary window on both sis. Carefully loosen the remainr of the retainer from the retainer track. D. To complete removal, pull the window up. This will release the glass from the bottom insert. E. Set the stationary window asi, to be re-installed later. Make sure ventilating window is towards the top of the window opening. D. E. F. G. h. Disengage latches from window latch track, by sliding latch handles inward (towards each other) and then pull towards you until ventilating window swings past the window latch track and door frame. Grasping both sis of the ventilating window, rotate it 90 grees, until it is about horizontal to the ground. Sli right si of ventilating window down, to allow room for the left si pivot key to clear the balance shoe. Sli left si of ventilating window up to remove left pivot key from balance shoe. Swing ventilating window towards you so pivot key clears door frame. Sli right si of ventilating window up to remove right pivot key from balance shoe. Set the ventilating window asi, to be re-installed later. 4 7. REMOVE JAMB LINER with BALANCEr: Using pliers, grasp the insi leg of jamb liner at the bottom, getting as close to the bottom insert as possible. With a firm grip on the jamb liner, pull towards the center of the door. D. Once the jamb liner has started to separate from the door frame, use your hand to rotate the jamb liner away from you to continue pulling it out of the door frame. When you come to the balancer shoe and balancer, extra force will be required when pulling the jamb liner out of the door frame. w a r n i n g The balancer installed in the jamb liner contains a high pressure spring. Do not pull balancer out of jamb liner. If the balancer is removed from the jamb liner and handled improperly, the spring may release sudnly causing injury, product or property damage. rotate STEP 7a JAMB LINER interior view STEP 7b-c JAMB LINER BOTTOM INSERT balancer shoe insi leg grasp here STEP 7d balancer E. F. Repeat Steps 7A through D to remove the other jamb liner and balancer. Properly dispose of jamb liners and balancers. interior view pull interior view 8. install replacement JAMB LINER with BALANCEr: STEP 8a-d D. E. F. Remove shipping tape from top of each jamb liner. The balancer should be flush with the end of the jamb liner. Angle the Left jamb liner so the bottom is near the center of the door frame and the V leg is towards the exterior. The balancer should be at the top. Start 1-2 below the insect screen pull lip. At the same time, press and rotate the Left jamb liner into the jamb liner track of the door frame until it snaps into place. Once the Left jamb liner has been started into the jamb liner track, sli it all the way up. Finish pressing the Left jamb liner into the jamb liner track along the entire length of the jamb liner. 5 9. install ventilating window: Grasp both sis of the ventilating window, until it is about horizontal to the ground. Latch handles should be facing down and nearest to you. Pivot keys should be towards the door frame. Tilt the ventilating window at an angle (the left si will be higher than the right) to allow the right pivot key to be seated into the right balance shoe, which is located in the window latch track. Seat the right pivot key. After the right pivot key is seated in right balance shoe, sli the right si of the ventilating window down, to allow the left pivot key to be seated into the left balance shoe. Seat the left pivot key. D. To engage latch handles into window latch tracks, swing ventilating window toward door frame, then slitch handles inward (towards each other) until the ventilating window is aligned vertically with the window latch tracks. E. Release both latch handles into the window latch tracks. The ventilating window should move smoothly up and down. F. Turn FlipAway handle down. The center mullion should be on top, with the bulb seal towards the door frame. Center glass of stationary window along glass track in bottom insert. Align the si window retainer arrows with retainer tracks. Push down on the ventilating window, sliding the glass into glass track in bottom insert. The center mullion is not shown for visual clarification. While holding the window with your left hand, lean it towards the door. Starting at the bottom, press on the right si retainer to engage it into the retainer track, moving up its entire length. D. Repeat Step 10C for the left si retainer. 6 11. install center mullion screws: Realign the holes in each end of the center mullion with the holes currently in the door frame. It may be necessary to lightly push the handle si of the door inwards towards the window opening to realign the holes. Insert one (1) #8 x 3/8 screw through the hole in the center mullion and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not overtighten screws. Repeat Steps 11A and B to install the remaining screw on other end of center mullion. STEP 11 #8x3/8 screw center mullion 12. install insect screen track retainers: Place insect screen track retainer with the SCREEN TRACK RETAINER retainer arrow pointing towards the door. Sli the screen track retainer over the edge Retainer ARROW tab of the retractable insect screen assembly. To press in screen track retainer, start at the top and work progressively down. Use your thumb to press straight on the back of the retainer arrow. Repeat Step 12A and B for the other retainer. ATTACH INSECT SCREEN TO ventilating WINDOW: Raise the ventilating window to approximately eye level. w a r n i n g The SliAway insect screen is stored insi the door with a highly tightened spring. If released, insect screen may release sudnly causing injury or product damage. Maintain a firm grasp when attaching the insect screen to the window. To position the insect screen and window, lower the insect screen. Pull the insect screen down over the top of the window latch rail. A slight pull towards you will allow the insect screen pull lip to maneuver around the window latch rail. Maintain a firm grasp when attaching the insect screen to the window. A slight push outwards will align the insect screen pull lip and window latch rail. Raise the insect screen slightly. The insect screen will be fully engaged when the window latch rail is interlocked with the screen pull lip. See image to right for proper positioning. 7 14. INSTALL WINDOW LATCH ASSEMBLY: Align the holes in the window latch assembly with the holes in the insect screen pull. Use the two (2) screws, removed in Step 1A, to attach the window latch assembly to the insect screen pull and window frame. Levante la malla mosquitera hasta que el bor l tirador malla mosquitera se que que en la parte superior abertura ventana. Coloque la ventana ventilación en la posición más alta, con el riel guía cerradura ventana bajo l bor l tirador malla mosquitera. RETIRE EL REVESTIMIENTO INTERIOR con COMPENSADOR: Utilizando un par pinzas, tome la pata interna PASO 7a l revestimiento interno jamba por la parte REVESTIMIENTO inferior, acercándose tanto como sea posible a la INTERIOR DE LA inserción inferior. JAMBA Sosteniendo firmemente el revestimiento interior jamba, tire hacia el centro puerta. Una vez que el revestimiento interior Marco jamba ha comenzado a separarse l marco la puerta, utilice su mano para rotar el revestimiento interno jamba alejándolo para puerta INSERCIÓN INFERIOR por seguir retirándolo l marco puerta. Es posible que para alinear los orificios nuevamente ba empujar suavemente el lado manija puerta hacia antro en dirección a la ventana. Inserte un (1) tornillo #8 x 3/8 en el orificio columna divisora central y ajústelo con un stornillador Phillips. No ajuste en exceso los tornillos. Repita los pasos 11A y B para colocar el tornillo restante en el otro extremo columna divisora central. D. Saisissez les ux côtés d aération et faites-la pivoter 90 grés, jusqu à ce qu elle soit à l horizontale, parallèle au sol. ÉTAPE 6d-g E. RETRAIT DU REVÊTEMENT DE MONTANT AVEC ENSEMBLE D ÉQUILIBRAGE : À l ai pinces, saisissez la patte intérieure se ÉTAPE 7a trouvant dans le bas du revêtement montant, en REVÊTEMENT DE vous rapprochant autant que possible l ouverture MONTANT du bas. b. Tout en saisissant fermement le revêtement montant, tirez vers le centre. L ensemble d équilibrage vrait affleurer avec l extrémité du revêtement montant. b. Inclinez le revêtement montant gauche à un certain angle, sorte que le bas se trouve près du centre du cadre et que la patte en «V» soit orientée vers l extérieur. L ensemble d équilibrage vrait se trouver au sommet. Commencez à 1 ou 2 po sous le rebord traction moustiquaire.
