Vigeland sculpture park: free of charge The Vigeland Park is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist. The unique sculpture park is Gustav Vigeland's lifework with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Vigeland was also in charge of the design and architechtural layout of the park. The Vigeland Park was mainly completed between 1939 and Most of the sculptures are placed in five units along an 850 meter long axis: The Main gate, the Bridge with the Children's playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life Viking Ship Museum: $16.00/person Has put on display the best preserved Viking ships ever found. The museum also has on display the unique finds from the royal graves upon which the viking ships were placed. Fram Museum: $21.00/person This museum shows the history of the polar explorers. Here you ll find the world s most famous polarship, Fram, from 1892, the museums main attraction. The ship is displayed in its original condition with interior and objects perfectly preserved. 2 Kon-tiki: $21.00/person The Kon-tiki Museum houses original boats and exhibits from Thor Heyerdahl s world famous expeditions. The museum is home to permanent exhibitions about: Ra, Tigris, Fatu-Hiva, Kon-Tiki, and Easter Island. Norsk Folkemuseum (NO Museum of Cultural History): $26.00/person One of Europe s largest open air museums with a variety of traditional houses from almost all regions of Norway. Munchmuseet (Munch Museum): $23.00/person When Munch died in January 1944, it transpired that he had unconditionally bequeathed all his remaining works to the City of Oslo. Edvard Munch's art is the most significant Norwegian contribution to the history of art, and he is the only Norwegian artist who has exercised a decisive influence on European art trends, above all as a pioneer of Expressionism in Germany and the Nordic countries. Nobel Peace Center: $21.00/person The Nobel Peace Center opened in 2005 in the old Vestbanen railway station, and is a museum about the Nobel Peace Prize. Hear the story of the Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel who established the prices and the Peace Prize, which he wrote in his will should be awarded to: "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses". You will also learn about the Peace Prize laureates and their work, as well as general topics related to war, peace and conflict resolution. The Nobel Peace Center has achieved international recognition for the use of documentary photography and interactive technology. Holmenkollbakken (Ski Museum and Jump Tower): $26.00/person The original ski jump was from 1892 and was renovated for the 1952 Olympic Winter Games. But the old ski jump was demolished and a brand new ski jump was constructed for the 2011 World Ski Championships. The museum besides the jump is the oldest museum in the world of its type. 2

3 5-10 hours excursion to Hadeland Glassworks and/or Blåfarveværket: Driving through the western suburbs of Oslo and further on through landscapes typical for this part of Norway with farmland, forests and lakes. Drive along the Tyrifjord, one of the deepest lakes in Norway, towards Hønefoss and through Ringerike District, Norway's breadbasket. At Jevnaker you will visit Hadeland Glassworks. Here we have the possibility of visiting the factory and watching crystal be hand-blown. Time also for a visit to the factory's shop. Continue south, west of the Tyrifjord, and route to Åmot i Modum and the cobalt mine for a visit to Blåfarveværket. The Blåfarveværket (Cobalt factory) was founded in 1773, and is now a complex with mine access, a museum and a national park. In the main building the works of a different Scandinavian artists are on show. It also houses a permanent collection of ancient porcelain, crystal and cobalt blue. A little uphill, you will find Haugfossen, a large waterfall, located next to an old-fashioned, rural trade store. En route back to Oslo you pass Drammen - the 5th largest town in Norway - and the view point 'Spiralen', an engineering masterpiece. The road has been blasted out of the middle of the mountain and makes a descend through 13 spiral curves. From the top of 'Spiralen' there is a viewpoint offering a spectacular view of the Drammensfjord and surrounding area. Time for a picture stop before you descend down through the mountain and drive back to back to Oslo. Blåfarveværket: free entrance Cobalt Works and the Mines surrounding areas (entrance fee may apply for different exhibitions) Blåfarveværket comprises a museum, cobalt mines, glassworks and art exhibitions in the municipality of Modum. The heart of Blåfarveværket, which is one of Norway's most visited attractions, is the glassworks. This is where the annual art exhibitions are held, as well as the permanent exhibition "From Cobalt Ore to Blue Pigment". In the Wheel House there is an exhibition about the history of Blaafarveværket. At Blaafarveværket you will be able to find cobalt mines. The cobalt mines on the ridge of Skuterudåsen, eight kilometers from the main area of Blaafarveværket, stretch three kilometers from north to south. You can walk along the side of enormous open-cast mines in a remarkable man-made landscape. In the manor house, Nyfossum, visitors can see on permanent display many beautiful and haunting interiors painted by the celebrated artist Ida Lorentzen. Her focus on light and space, windows and doors, creates a portrait of the inner soul of a house built in the 1820s. 3
