PROJECT S.T.R.E.E.T project aims to create a new professional profile, the Expert in Sustainable Mobility and Tourism, who can meet the market trends and become an opportunity for economic growth, local social development and employment. The candidates are young people, unemployed, between 20 and 35 years old, with a high school or a university degree wanting to acquire more competencies on sustainable transport and tourism, which is constantly evolving. SUSTAINABLE TOURISTIC MOBILITY IN BLED On 7-10 November 2017 the third Study Visit Reducing environmental impacts in a touristic town: from mobility policies to mobility solution was held in Bled (Slovenia) where the students visited this touristic town and its cultural and natural insights and discussed with the local administration about the sustainable urban mobility plan (SUMP) and how to enhance tourism in the area. 2 DAY 1-7th November The Study Visit started with a visit to the regional tourist and nature protection centre of Triglavska roža Bled, to learn more about nature, sustainable urban mobility plan, tourism and events in the Gorenjska region. Afterwards, a guided visit of Bled took place including climbing up to the Castle on the rock: students enjoyed a panoramic view of the island, the town and the wide countryside of the Gorenjska region. 2

3 Day 2 8th November The second day of Study Visit started under the rain, but students enjoyed the trip to Ljubljana with Polona Filipič (Faculty of Architecture) and Matteo Peterlin (Expert in Sustainable Mobility). Once there, students enjoyed a city tour, the presentation of good practices of mobility in Ljubljana and a visit to the Faculty of Architecture. Day 3 9th November The third day began with a visit to the information centre of Triglav National Park in Bohinj with a presentation of Maya Komar about sustainable mode of transport for tourism in the park: many activities are children-friendly. 3

4 Day 3 (continuation) Špela Berlot (CIPRA Slovenia) gave a keynote speech about Sustainable Mobility in the Alps. A very nice trip by boat on the Ribčev Laz in Bohinj and the Biathlon Sport Center Pokljuka! 4

5 Day 4 10th November Last day in Bled! It was time to finish the problem solving homework, with the support of the Mayor of Bled Mr Janez Fajfar. Going and getting to know Higher Vocational College for Hospitality and Tourism, where students showed their solutions to improve sustainable mobility and tourism in Bled. Students could not leave this wonderful place without a boat ride on the lake and a visit of the church on the island. According to an ancient popular legend, where the present baroque church stands, there was the ancient temple devoted to the goddess Ziva. In the battles between Christians and Pagans, the temple was completely destroyed and a Christian church was erected in its place...
