2 CREATION OF THE NETWORK EARTH = European Alliance for Responsible Tourism and Hospitality Officially launched on October, 16 th of 2008 in Brussels, it aims at laying the foundations of an European community to promote the principles of Responsible Tourism. The association is an international non-profit association (ASBL).
3 MEMBERS AUSTRIA BELGIUM GERMANY ITALY FRANCE IRELAND SPAIN
4 ACTIVITIES Cooperate with authorities at the local, national and European level to promote the principles of responsible tourism Local and National level: each member in their countries. European level: EARTH gave its recommendations to the Commission during the consultation to create the European Charter of Sustainable Tourism. We participated in the meeting organized by the Commission about the European Tourism System of Indicators for Sustainable Management at Destination Level (ETIS).
5 ACTIVITIES Participate in projects involving international collaboration As associated partner in different European projects E.g. involved in the project Take the Med Coordinate and supports the activities of its members encouraging the mutual exchange of good practices Two meetings pear year, exchange of information by and Skype, monthly newsletter, website, social networks.
6 ACTIVITIES Promote responsible tourism through training and awarness-raising activities. Participation in events linked with tourism and social issues Partnerships with European organizations and networks. Creation of the Vademecum of the responsible traveller. In November in Brussels will take place an event organized by the EARTH about European realities of Responsible Tourism Communicate with the traditional tourism sector
