This evening, enjoy a Welcome Cocktail, followed by a speciallyprepared Welcome Dinner. DAY 2 AMSTERDAM HOORN After a restful night onboard, set off to see the sights of one of the most unique cities in Europe. Beautiful bridges connect the numerous parts of the city divided by hundreds of canals and waterways, overlooked by 17th century architecture. Be sure to stop by the Oude Kerk (Old Church), the oldest building in the city. In a nearby village, visit a cheese farm to learn about Dutch cheese production. This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner as we continue to explore the Netherlands. DAY 3 ARNHEM Experience the wonderful landscape along the river before arriving in Arnhem for lunch. This afternoon, explore the city of Arnhem, a small metropolis that was greatly affected by WWII. The Open-Air museum recounts daily life in Arnhem or visit the former Second World War battlefield and the Airborne Museum Hartenstein. You can also visit the Burgers Zoo, the most-visited zoo in the Netherlands. Back on board, enjoy dinner as we cruise to the Capital of Zeeland. DAY 4 MIDDELBURG After a morning spent cruising the waterways, we arrive in the picturesque town of Middelburg. In the Golden Age (17th c), the Dutch East Indies Company flourished, evidenced by the merchant houses and storefronts that line the canals. For a feat of modern technology, visit the impressive Delta Works. This expansive series of dams was built to protect the area against flooding and high tides. Several original windmills still stand on the outskirts of town, representing another innovative technology of a byegone era. DAY 5 BELGIUM: GHENT Overnight, cross the border into Belgium and reach the city of Ghent where your vessel will remain anchored for the day. The city of Ghent is the country s third largest city and one of Belgium s best kept secrets. Home to the beautiful St. Bavo Cathedral and the famous Ghent Altarpiece. Ghent also is home to numerous other museums something for everyone. Another beautiful city worth visiting is nearby Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Basilica of the Holy Blood which houses a relic, a vial of blood, that is said to be that of Jesus. Another worthwhile stop is the Groeninge Museum with its collection of artwork that spans several centuries. This evening, join your fellow travellers for dinner. A unique urban landscape: Amsterdam s Canal Ring DAY 6 ANTWERP Wake up in this beautiful Belgian City where there is plenty to discover. Although famous for its diamond trade, Antwerp is also home to numerous cultural jewels. Among them, the Cathedral of Our Lady with paintings by the famous Baroque artist Peter Paul Rubens, including the Raising of the Cross and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, is not to be missed. Spend the afternoon in Antwerp following individual pursuits or venture to the nearby capital city of Brussels, a major center for international politics. In the evening, enjoy the Captain s Gala Dinner. DAY 7 NETHERLANDS: KINDERDIJK UTRECHT AMSTERDAM On today s return to the Netherlands, the historic windmills of Kinderdijk are a good example of the rich history of the Netherlands. At midday, the vessel heads for Utrecht and the grand finale, the Keukenhof Flower Gardens. This beautiful park features more tulips in flower than anywhere else in the world. Over 7 million bulbs are planted here annually, with visitors from around the world coming to explore the 9-and-a-half-mile network of footpaths, including the largest sculpture park in the Netherlands. Should you choose to join the expedition to the flower gardens, you will rejoin the vessel in Amsterdam, where it remains overnight. DAY 8 AMSTERDAM After breakfast, we bid you farewell. DAY 4 COCHEM Today our Amadeus vessel takes a special trip down the romantic Moselle river, the largest tributary of the Rhine, and anchors at the old town of Cochem. The scenery in the Moselle Valley has been dominated by vineyards for millennia. Cochem itself has narrow streets, twisting alleys and medieval town gates, churches and walls. Discover the beauty of Cochem and perhaps sample some of the Riesling wines produced in this region. This evening we set off towards Koblenz. DAY 5 KOBLENZ RÜDESHEIM This morning arrive in Koblenz, ideally situated at the confluence of the Rhine and the Moselle rivers. The Romans, the Franks, the Holy Roman Empire, the French, and the Germans have all had a hand in this strategic city s 2000 year history. St. Castor Basilica, the Church of our Beloved Lady, and the Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm s memorial at the German Corner, are just a few of the sites which reflect the history of the area. This afternoon, spend time on deck as we cruise the most beautiful section of the river the legendary Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Late this afternoon, the vessel arrives in Rüdesheim, a winemaking town in the Rhine Gorge. Discover the region s rich history of winemaking perhaps visit the local museum a great place to start. Back onboard your crew awaits with a delicious dinner. DAY 6 MANNHEIM SPEYER After breakfast, explore the bustling metropolis of Mannheim. This unique city has many sights to see including the University of Mannheim, the National Theater Mannheim, and St. Sebastian s Church. It is also home to Luisenpark, one of the most beautiful parks in all of Germany. Nearby Heidelberg is another old university city which is also a worthwhile visit. This afternoon s call is at Speyer, a city known for its Cathedral where eight Roman Emperors and German Kings are interred. The Old Town Gate, Memorial Church, and Transportation Museum are all highlights of this beautiful city. Tonight, enjoy the Captain s Gala Dinner after your exciting day. DAY 7 FRANCE: STRASBOURG This morning we arrive in the dynamic capital of Alsace. This beautiful city s sights include the famous cathedral Straßburger Münster and the Petite France quarter, a former mill and tanner district that still maintains its medieval charm. Half-timbered houses, the Ponts Couverts, the Palais de Rohan, the Council of Europe are among the wonders that Strasbourg holds in store for you. The Grand Island, the city center, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is connected to the rest of the city by 22 stone bridges. DAY 5 MILTENBERG WERTHEIM Today, choose to remain onboard for a relaxing day or join our optional excursion in the afternoon to Miltenberg and Wertheim, two towns famous for their architecture and museums. Both are unique in their own way and are reflective of the storied history of the area. In Wertheim explore the medieval streets with its half timbered houses and glass museum. DAY 6 WÜRZBURG Welcome to the Bavarian city of Würzburg, located in the heart of the Franconian wine region! As the central hub for wineries in this part of Germany, Würzburg is the perfect place to visit some of the local wineries for tastings. Relax onboard this afternoon and enjoy a sumptuous dinner. DAY 7 BAMBERG The morning is spent cruising the beautiful Main. After lunch arrive in the UNESCO-protected Imperial city of Bamberg and see the New Residence, the unique Town Hall built on a bridge, and the Imperial Cathedral with its four towers. Overlooking the city are seven churches, each atop a hill, surrounding the town. This evening, we transit the Main- Danube canal highlighted with a talk onboard about this important waterway. DAY 8 NUREMBERG Following breakfast, enjoy your day in Nuremberg. Consider a visit to the romantic Old Town of Nuremberg, lovingly restored after the destruction incurred during World War II. A hub for history, Nuremberg is home to many museums including the Documentation Center,which recounts the effects of the Nazi Regime and World War II on the city and surrounding areas. Back on board, it s full steam ahead before crossing the European watershed separating the Main and Danube Rivers. DAY 9 REGENSBURG In the afternoon, visit one of Germany s most well preserved medieval cities. This UN- ESCO world heritage site boasts architecture from many centuries, reflective of its varied history throughout the centuries. The stone bridge, built in , the Church of St James, and the Schloss of Thurn and Taxis are a few of the highlights of this beautiful city. This evening is a special Bavarian theme celebrating the wonderful region cruised thus far. DAY 10 PASSAU Arrive in time for lunch in the three-rivers city of Passau, lying at the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz. Explore the city with its St. Stephen s Cathedral, home to one oft he largest pipe organs in the world. Spend the morning discovering this typical small town in Lower Austria or travel across the river to nearby Melk and its magnificent Benedictine abbey the largest in Austria. Back onboard for lunch, continue through the vineyards of the Wachau to the village of Dürnstein. Spend the afternoon in the romantic village with its iconic blue church and winding streets, and perhaps sample the local wines. Vienna. This wine-producing region produces some of the most expensive wines in the world. Spend the morning exploring the city, and perhaps visit the wine museum, dedicated to the history and production of Burgundy wines. Near the city of Mâcon is the Cluny Abbey, dedicated to St. Peter. This afternoon offers the opportunity to visit the spiritual heart of medieval Europe. Founded in 910 by Guillaume d Aquitaine, the abbey is comprised of three abbey churches. At its height, it was home to over 10,000 monks. DAY 3 CHALON-SUR-SAÔNE TOURNUS Continue to explore the wine region with a stop in the town of Chalon sur Saône. Halftimbered houses overlook the square, and it offers art galleries, specialty shops as well as a museum dedicated to photography. DAY 5 AVIGNON The Provencal city of Avignon is home to the Papal Palace, once the seat of Western Christianity in the 14th century. The Papal Palace, was home to six papal conclaves but became obsolete when the papacy decided to return to Rome. The area of Provence is also home to the Pont du Gard, a three-level aqueduct constructed over 2000 years ago by the Romans and is one of the architectural masterpieces of the ancient world. 96 IMPORTANT INFORMATION AIR CONDITIONING: Please note that the air conditioning in your cabin is only guaranteed to be effective if you keep the doors and windows closed. The air conditioning can be regulated individually in each cabin. ANNOUNCEMENTS: A public address system enables our Cruise Directors to provide you with important information about places we are passing, our programs on board and our excursions ashore. You can hear these announcements on the Sun deck, in your cabin, and in all the public areas of the vessel. CHANGING MONEY: During your cruise, you can change money into the relevant currency at Bureaux de change which can generally be found close to where the vessel docks. CLOTHING: For daytimes and shore excursions, we recommend wearing casual clothing and comfortable footwear. A jacket or pullover may be required during the evening. For dinner and special occasions we recommend dress ing smartly. CRUISE DIRECTOR S TEAM: The Cruise Director s team will look after you throughout the cruise and will always be happy to give you any additional information you require. CRUISE ITINERARIES: Although every effort is made to keep itineraries as advertised, Amadeus River Cruises reserves the right to make changes and substitutions, as necessary, to ensure the safety of our guests and our vessels. Changes may be made at short notice due to force majeure, high or low river levels, maintenance work or waiting times at locks and bridges owing to traffic congestion. Announcements will be made onboard to keep you informed of any important changes. DAILY SCHEDULE: A Daily Program is produced every day and placed in your cabin on the previous evening. It contains important information such as meal times, departure times for excursions and other events. DECKCHAIRS: There are plenty of deckchairs on the Sun deck which are available free of charge. DINING TIMES: The ship s onboard restaurant provides a relaxed environment and accommodates all guests in one seating. The dining schedule will be listed in the Daily Program. The Maitre D will assist with seating. DOCKING AND MOORING: Local river authorities allocate docking space around ship arrivals and departures in port. Typically, river ships dock facing upstream. Occasionally port conditions require ships to tie up alongside each other, in which case guests may be required to walk through another ship to access their own ship. This is part of the river cruise experience and is perfectly normal and beyond the control of Amadeus River Cruises and the ship company. Guests may experience obstructed views from staterooms when the ship is docked. DRINKING WATER: The ship has been outfitted with a sophisticated filtration system, and the tap water in each stateroom is safe for drinking. In addition, bottled water is provided in your stateroom for your comfort. 96 ELECTRICAL CURRENT: The voltage onboard ship is 220v alternating current, 50 Hertz European standard, 2 pin plug. ELEVATORS: Most of the Amadeus Fleet is equipped with an elevator that services all decks except the Sun Deck. Please Note: Amadeus Princess does not have elevators. ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM: The schedule for the onboard entertainment may be found in the Daily Program. EXCURSION PROGRAM: TA minimum of 20 guests is required for excursions by coach and 12 guests for walking tours. A detailed description of the shore excursions will be included with your travel documents. The Cruise Director s team will be happy to provide additional information onboard. The team will also keep you informed about timings of excursions and also give additional advice for independent exploration. FITNESS: A fitness room is open 24 hours a day on every Amadeus vessel. GRATUITIES: In accordance with international custom, it is usual to leave a gratuity for the staff and crew. The amount is, of course, up to you and should serve as recognition for good service. We recommend CAD per guest per day. Gratuities may be prepaid in advance or given onboard. HAIRDRESSER: For your convenience a hair salon is found on all Amadeus vessels. If you require the hairdresser s services, please make an appointment on board. INSURANCE: While travel insurance is not required in order to participate in this program, Amadeus River Cruises strongly recommends that each guest purchase a travel protection plan, as unforeseen circumstances can occur both prior to and during travel. INTERNET/ and internet stations are available on all Amadeus vessels. A wireless network (WiFi) is also available on board for your use. You can obtain further details on board or from your travel agent in advance. LAUNDRY SERVICE: Laundry service is available onboard for a nominal fee. Please note that neither self-service laundry facilities nor dry cleaning services are available. LIBRARY: There is a selection of light reading material available for your use on board. Whenever possible, daily newspapers are also made available. At the end of the cruise we ask you kindly to return any books or magazines you have borrowed. MEDICATION: If you require any special medication, please ensure that you have an adequate supply before joining the cruise. The onboard pharmacy is equipped for emergencies; a small fee to cover costs is charged for medication. Please let us know if you require any special medical attention. ONBOARD CURRENCY: The ship operates on a cashless system and all charges are billed directly to each guest s onboard account. While onboard, guests can sign for all purchases and pay their charges at the end of the cruise with a credit card; cards accepted are American Express, MasterCard, and Visa. Credit cards will be charged in Euros. Debit cards and Travellers Checks cannot be accepted for settling the onboard account. The ship does not have an ATM nor a money exchange. TELEPHONE: Amadeus vessels have a GSM system and direct-dial telephones in all cabins. Outgoing calls are charged to your account. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: Before joining your cruise, please check with your travel agent or the relevant embassy about the current entry requirements for the countries in question. In order to ensure smooth passage between customs areas, passports are handed to Reception on embarkation, where they are kept in safe custody. TV CHANNELS: TV is received by satellite. When in locks and on certain stretches of the river, there may be slight interference/interruptions to the service. 98 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL 2017 Exclusive Tours is the booking agent and is not itself a transport, tour, event or accommodation provider and acts only as an agent for those service providers. HOW TO BOOK Please call our reservations line on or contact your travel agent who will request a reservation on your behalf. All requests for reservations are subject to availability PRICES All rates are in Canadian dollars and are cash/cheque rates. Exclusive Tours reserves the rights to correct any errors in rates quoted or calculated, or any omissions made at any time during your booking. Any verbal quote given is an indication only of the final price and is subject to confirmation in writing. CARRIER S DISCRETION Amadeus Cruises as the carrier, reserve the right at any time, without notice, to cancel any cruise to change or postpone the date or time of sailing or arrival, to change the port of embarkation or disembarkation, to shorten the cruise or substitute the Ship. If required to do any of these things, they will be responsible to you as follows: 1. If they cancel the cruise before it has started, they will refund the cruise fare that they have received or provide another substitute Cruise. 2. If the scheduled sailing date or time is delayed and as a result of that delay you are not otherwise accommodated on board the Ship, they may arrange shore side accommodations and food at no additional expense to you for the duration of the delay. 3. If the scheduled port of embarkation or disembarkation is changed, they will arrange transportation to the new port from the originally scheduled port. 4. If any governmental agency publishes an informative announcement regarding travel conditions in or to a specific country or location included in the scheduled itinerary, they reserve the right to operate the Cruise as scheduled; alternatively, they reserve the right to cancel the Cruise and return all monies paid. 5. If the Cruise is shortened or terminated, they will, at their option, either make a proportionate refund of the Cruise Fare or transfer you to another ship or the port of disembarkation by other means. If the scheduled length of the Cruise Fare is increased, you will have no responsibility for the cost of any additional Cruise Fare and they will have no responsibility to pay or compensate you in any manner, including consequential damages. In either of the above circumstances, their responsibility ends once they return you to the point of origination as booked and ticketed by us. 6. They reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to return all monies paid and deny embarkation to any person other than for reasons related to discrimination on the basis of race, religion or sexual preference. DEPOSITS A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the cruise price is required to secure your place within 7 days of booking FINAL PAYMENT Final payment is due no later than 90 days prior to travel on your cruise unless otherwise specified. CREDIT CARDS Credit card payments attract a merchant fee of 1.9% for Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club. CANCELLATIONS All cancellations must be received in writing and are subject to the following schedule of fees: Days before cruise departure % of cruise price charged Over 90 days Loss of deposit days 35% days 50% 29-0 days 100% The aforementioned cancellation fees are in addition to any that may be charged by travel agents, airlines, hotels or other tour operators. REFUNDS To the extent permitted by law, no refund is available for cancellations after travel has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilised. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS Travel documents will be sent to you approximately 21 days prior to departure (providing full payment has been received). If you are leaving home earlier, please advise us so that we can deliver your documents before you depart. TRAVEL INSURANCE It is a condition of travel that each passenger is adequately covered by an appropriate travel insurance policy. Please also check the contingencies of your prospective insurance cover and ensure you are aware of its conditions and omissions. We strongly advise travel insurance from time of booking to provide full cover. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS All customers are required to familiarise themselves with any health requirements specific to countries being visited. PASSPORTS AND VISAS It is the responsibility of the passenger to have a valid passport (which is valid for at least six months from your last day of travel) and all visas, permits and certificates required for the selected tour. Ask your travel agent for further information. BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS The person making a booking will be deemed to have accepted these booking conditions on behalf of everyone named in the booking. Only the person making the booking is authorised to make changes to or cancel the booking. All communications from us will usually be sent to your travel agent. Your travel agent is responsible for forwarding payments made by you to us. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY To the extent permitted by law, Exclusive Tours excludes all liability for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to physical and psychological injury, and loss or damage to property of whatever nature) that may arise in any way in connection with the offer or supply of goods or services through Exclusive Tours or any third parties, or in connection with the supply of such goods or services. If the law implies a condition or warranty that cannot be excluded, Exclusive Tours liability for a breach of the conditions or warranty will be limited as determined by Exclusive Tours to the re-supply or payment of the cost of re-supplying the relevant goods or services. Except where otherwise stated within these terms and conditions Exclusive Tours excludes liability for any loss or damage that may be caused by cancellation, abandonment, alteration, amendment, modification or termination of the tour. EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL If a tour cannot proceed due to a force majeure event including but not limited to flood, earthquake, war or civil strife, acts of terrorism, hurricane, cyclone, industrial disturbance, strike, fire, lock out, epidemic, failure or delays of scheduled transportation facilities, or other Acts of God, or any law, order, decree, rule or regulation of any government authority, or for any reason whether of a similar or dissimilar nature beyond the control of Exclusive Tours, this agreement shall terminate and there shall be no claim for damages by either party against the other. COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE Should you have a complaint while on the cruise, you should inform your Cruise Director immediately. If the matter cannot be resolved after their best endeavours to do so during the cruise, your complaint can be made in writing to Exclusive Tours. Exclusive Tours cannot help with issues that were not brought to the attention of the Cruise Director during the cruise. AGENT RESPONSIBILITY It is the travel agents responsibility to ensure that all invoice and itinerary details and documentation issued by Exclusive Tours are correct and that the customer is aware of amendment and cancellation conditions and other clauses in these booking conditions. LAW OF CONTRACT This agreement shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Canada. 98

99 CHILDREN/MINORS Due to the nature of our cruise itineraries, Amadeus Cruises does not maintain facilities or services for children aboard their cruise vessels. On all cruises and cruise journeys, minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied and share a cabin with a parent, legal guardian or other responsible adult over the age of 21. We regret that we cannot accommodate children under 12 years of age, and we reserve the right to limit the number of minors under the age of 18 years on board. DISABLED PASSENGERS We welcome guests with special needs. Guests who have any medical, physical or other special needs must contact their Travel Agent or Exclusive Tours directly to obtain specific information. All vessels and coaches are equipped to European standards. Vessel operators will, under appropriate circumstances, permit passengers to use motorised scooters and wheelchairs that satisfy criteria confirmed by Amadeus Cruises. In all cases passengers must understand and accept that the vessels do not have lifts permitting easy access from deck to deck, and that some decks are multi-level and/or have significant thresholds to be negotiated. Accordingly physically disabled passengers may need the services of a responsible adult, and should be aware that crew availability to assist them is often severely limited. OPERATORS The ships described in this brochure are operated by Danubia Kreuzfahrten GmbH / Vienna-Austria. Exclusive TOURS Exclusive Tours acts solely as a Sales Agent/Preferred Supplier for the above-mentioned operators of the vessels described in this brochure. Exclusive Tours neither owns nor operates any of the vessels described herein and thus assumes no responsibility or liability for acts or omissions of the vessel owners or operators in regard to the cruises described herein. RESPONSIBILITY Exclusive Tours accepts no liability or responsibility, whether occasioned by railroad, motor coach or any other conveyance, for any injury, damages, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason or defect, through the acts or defaults of any company or person, or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour, as a result of any cause beyond the control of Exclusive Tours. Guests specifically release Exclusive Tours from all claims for loss or damage to baggage or property or from personal injuries or death, or from loss or delay, arising out of the acts, omissions or negligence of any independent contractors, such as air carriers, hotels, shore excursion operators, restaurateurs, transportation providers, medical personnel or other providers of services or facilities. All arrangements made for tour participants with independent contractors, including medical services, are made solely for convenience to participants and are done at the participant s own risk. Medical personnel are independent contractors. Exclusive Tours specifically disclaims all liability for damages for emotional distress, mental suffering or psychological injury of any kind. Tickets, vouchers, and any other travel documents are subject to all terms and conditions of the respective suppliers (some of which may limit supplier s liability). Under no circumstances shall Exclusive Tours be construed as a carrier under a contract for safe carriage of the passenger or his or her belongings. Exclusive Tours and the owners and operators of the vessels identified in this brochure shall be entitled to any and all liability limitations, immunities and rights applicable to them or any of them under the Strasbourg Convention on the Limitation of Liability of Owners of Inland Navigation Vessels (CLNI), with protocols and amendments, together with the further provisions of the International Convention of Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims, 1976, with revisions and amendments (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Convention ), if and as applicable, as well as any other applicable nation s laws limiting liability. Exclusive Tours and the owners and operators of the vessels identified in this brochure shall be entitled to claim the benefit of whichever law, regulation, treaty or doctrine provides the greatest legal protections to Exclusive Tours and the owners and operators of the vessels identified in this brochure. REFUSAL OF PASSAGE Exclusive Tours shall not be required to refund any amount paid by any tour participant who must leave the tour prematurely for any reason, nor shall Exclusive Tours or the owners or operators of the vessels identified in this brochure be responsible for the lodging, meals, return transportation or other expenses incurred by such tour participant.
