2 THE ITINERARY Day 1 Australia - Paris, France Today depart from either Sydney, Melbourne, *Brisbane, *Adelaide or Perth for Paris, France! Meals included: In-Flight Day 2 Welcome to Paris Upon arrival into Paris you will be met by a representative and transferred to the hotel. Overnight: Hotel Ibis Porte D Orleans or similar, Paris Meals included: None Day 3 Paris Half Day Sightseeing Tour Following breakfast at the hotel begin a 3 hour half day locally guided city tour exploring Ile de la Cite. The tour starts from Notre Dame, the most important church in Paris, a masterpiece of French Gothic art, which has witnessed the main historical events of France. Not far from Notre Dame, you will see the Palace of the Conciergerie, where many were imprisoned until their death, including the famous Marie Antoinette. You will then continue to the Latin Quarter, the literary and intellectual area, home to the former University of the Sorbonne. Continuing the tour you will admire the botanical gardens, the Mosque, the Pantheon, the Luxembourg Garden and Saint Germain des Pres (entrances not included). Walk through to Les Halles (the general market was held here in the 19th century) until you reach the cultural centre George Pompidou, built in 1977 by the famous architect Renzo Piano, as the Museum of Contemporary Art. 3 THE ITINERARY Day 7 Aix en Provence - Marseilles (approx. 30km day) - Begin 7 Night MSC Mediterranean Cruise After check out, head to Marseille, the most renowned and populated metropolitan area in the country after Paris and Lyon. Upon arrival enjoy a walking tour with your Tour Leader. The cafés around the Vieux Port, where glistening fish are sold straight off the boats on quai des Belges, are wonderful spots to observe the city s street life. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the cruise terminal to embark your home for the next 7 nights, the brand new MSC Bellissima ship. Day 9 Naples, Italy 11:00am to 7:30pm Naples is a large, sprawling Mediterranean port, with a centre that has many different focuses just waiting to be discovered. The old part of Naples the centro storico is formed by the main streets of Via dei Tribunali and Via San Biagio dei Librai, which still follows the path of the ancient Roman roads. Day 10 Messina, Italy 8:00am to 6:00pm Messina may well be your first sight of Sicily, and it s a fine one, the glittering town spread up the hillside beyond its sickleshaped Mediterranean harbour. On an optional shore excursion you can discover Messina s most important monument, the Duomo (not included), which epitomises the city s phoenix-like ability to re-create itself from the ashes of its last disaster. Day 11 Valletta, Malta 8:00am to 6:00pm The UNESCO-protected port of Valletta, the capital of the island of Malta, is one of the must-see stops for every Mediterranean cruise of merit. You can admire this port, constructed in the second half of the 16th century by the Frenchman Jean de la Valette and moulded by the religious and military Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, from your MSC ship even before disembarking. Day 12 At Sea Day 13 Barcelona, Spain 7:00am to 6:00pm Barcelona Spain s second city, and the self-confident capital and port of Catalunya vibrates with life, and there s certainly not another city in the country to touch it for sheer style, looks or energy. TOUR LEADER Tour Guide: Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group. Tour Leader: An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined. Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured. CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES France The weather in Paris improves dramatically in May, when the summer season is just around the corner. At this

8 IMPORTANT INFORMATION time of year, the average temperature for the city increases from 12.5 C up to 16 C. The French Riviera and Provence are much warmer than most of Europe at this time of year, and even the evenings are very mild with average low temperatures rarely dipping below 13 C. Usually, you can expect clear sunny days with average temperatures of around 17 C in May. September is a busy month in Paris, and while it typically starts out warm with temperatures that can reach as high as 25 C, the average high drops four degrees to 21 C, and the later in September you re here, the cooler it s likely to be. October At this time of year, the average temperature starts off at 14 C on October 1st and drops down to 9.5 C by October 31st. Towards the south, the French Riviera and Provence the average is 14 C - 21 C. The Med During the spring season of April to May, and the fall months of September and October, the Mediterranean Sea is at its best for sailing, with a pleasant, warm climate. This is ideal for travelling on a cruise and taking advantage of outdoor leisure facilities such as swimming pools, as well as excursions at the destinations. FLIGHTS Seat Selection & Frequent Flyer Points: At TripADeal we do not arrange seat selection. It is important to highlight that some Airlines do not allow preselected seats. We strongly suggest you contact the Airline directly with seating allocation requirements and or arrive at the airport earlier to arrange your seating. While we do not add frequent flyer member details to bookings, you can do this directly with the Airline once you have your flight information. Passport Validity: Customers are required to provide valid passport details either at the time of purchase, or no later than 45 days prior to departure date. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the booking. In this instance customers will be responsible for any costs and fees incurred. CRUISE Disembarkation: Begins approximately 2 hours after docking. Due to security reasons, all guests must be on board 2 hours before sailing. Itineraries are subject to change at any time without notice. Check your specific sailing for exact departure and arrival times. All times are local to the port. Cruise Loyalty Discounts: Please note: Travellers booked via TripADeal will not be entitled to receive any cruise line customer loyalty discounts. Luggage: You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on the tour. With regards to luggage, you must carry your own luggage from the coach to the hotel room and back to the coach.
