11 BEST PRACTICES 1. Solutions based on a parent engine. The features and performance are tested at controlled conditions in a test facility or a test installation. Solution and its performance is certified, documented and approved. Sold in packages tailored for each installation based on a parent engine. Delivery scope might vary but effects are known An EIAPP or equivalent certificate can be provided 2. Solutions tailored case by case. Technology used is known and results are calculated or estimated. Standardised solutions Security, product support, reliability. Further development Faster delivery times (no design needed) 3. 13 Why is this best practice Challenges with measured data: Comparability of results. Test facilities vs onboard Overhaul vs not overhauled engine We think it s best practice because: 1. The results are known at beforehand. They are certified, tested and documented. No need for onboard measurements. 2. Standardised solutions Security, product support, reliability. Further development Faster delivery times (no design needed) 3. Faster installation time No need for measurements before and after. Solution is easy to install and can be done during a port stay No offhire or additional measurements are needed. Scope in each package is tailored to match a Parent Engine. Solutions are most feasible to do in connection of an engine overhaul.
