5 Guamá is a perfect Cuban tourist destination for lovers of history and nature. There, you will unique accommodations, boardwalks and possibility of rest in a totally natural environment. Just 90 kilometers from Varadero, one of the most famous beaches in Cuba, tourists can find the largest and most important wetland in the whole insular Caribbean; which is located in the Ciénaga de Zapata and was declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Also, it gathers natural values of flora and fauna -terrestrial and aquatic- unique in the Caribbean. Amid a lush landscape wealth, it is La Laguna del Tesoro (Treasure lagoon), which houses among its tourist attractions "Villa Guamá". The so-called Cuban Perla del Sur (South Pearl) was founded in 1819 under the name of Fernandina de Jagua, in the place today is the José Martí Park, where is currently its historic center with sites of significant values.
