5 The Cuba Jungle Trail Run is born with the idea of offering a Unique Experience in a totally Wild Environment. The race is developed in 5 stages that discover the most huge and savage landscape that hides CUBA.

6 GENERAL PROGRAM The program of the first edition of the Jungle Trailrun Cuba comprises a total of 7 days, from November 4th to the 10th The basic program is as follows: DAY 1 (Nov. 4) Arrival at the official Hotel in Havana or in Santa Clara, depending on the Arrival Airport. Reception and Dinner. Overnight at Hotel. DAY 2 (Nov. 5) Breakfast and transfer to the National Park Topes de Collantes. Arrival at the Hotel Los Helechos where the Competition Center will be located. Registration and lunch. General Briefing of the race. Stage 1. Dinner and Stage 1 award ceremony. Night in Hotel. DAY 3 (Nov. 6) Breakfast and departure of Stage 2. Lunch. Stage 2 award ceremony and Briefing of Stage 3. Dinner. Overnight at Hotel. DAY 4 (Nov. 7) Breakfast and departure of Stage 2. Lunch. Stage 2 award ceremony and Briefing of Stage 3. Dinner. Overnight at Hotel. DAY 5 (Nov. 8) Breakfast and departure of Stage 4. Lunch. Stage 4 award ceremony and Briefing of Stage 5. Dinner. Overnight at Campsite. DAY 6 (Nov. 9) Breakfast and departure of Stage 5. Lunch. Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony of Stage 5 and general classification of the Jungle Trailrun Farewell party. Overnight at Hotel. DAY 7 (Nov. 10) Breakfast and transfer to Havana or Santa Clara, depending on departure airport. *Initial program subject to possible modifications. The program for accompanying guest will allow you to follow the race at the same time as it will include complementary voluntary activities, such as a visit to the city of Trinidad or the Nengoa Cave, among others. All the overnight stays of the program for accompanying guests will take place in Hotel.

7 ROUTE AND STAGES The route of the first edition of the Jungle Trailrun Cuba is developed mainly in the National Park Topes de Collantes, in the mountainous group Guamuhaya. It consists of 5 stages for a total of 140 kilometers that are developed at a height that goes from 200 to 875 meters above sea level. Throughout each one of the stages (except the first one) 3 refreshment stations will be located where participants will find water and fruit, and they will also serve as checkpoints and timing controls. The route is obligatory and will be properly marked, mainly with marking tape. The organization will make official tracks available for participants to download. Stage 1 Altiplano-Altiplano (5 mi) This first stage will serve as a contact with the territory of Topes. A short stage but very demanding from the technical point of view. It will take place partially at night, which will give it a special value. With departure and arrival at Plaza del Sol, 250 meters from Hotel Los Helechos and a spectacular route that runs alongside the waterfalls of Vegas Grandes and Caburní. The passage of the Magic in the union of the two rivers, will require the maximum attention of the runners. Stage 2 Manacal-Los Helechos (19 mi) In line stage that will require a short bus transfer to the departure point, located 12 kms from the Hotel Los Helechos. A few kms from the departure of the race will cross the Sendero Huellas de la Historia, next to the Cuban Park. Mangos pelones and the Magic Carpet trail, will be the most significant places of passage. Very varied South-North tour, with tracks and paths and a changing vegetation depending on the orientation of each one of the slopes. Stage 3 Los Helechos-Guanayara (20 mi) In line stage that moves the race until the Campsite located at the finish line of the Park Guanayara. After a first technical stretch until crossing the Caburní River, the riders will cross a broad track that crosses the inhabited areas of La Una and Tres Palmas. After passing by Barbera through narrow paths and the Mirador de Tres Palmas, will be a milestone on the route from where to observe a fabulous landscape of lush vegetation and the Reservoir of the Hanabanilla in the background. Finally a spectacular descent to the bottom of the valley, will take us to the Park Guayanara where will be located the Campsite of this edition of the Jungle Trailrun, next to the Charco Azul river.

8 ROUTE AND STAGES Stage 4 Guanayara-Guanayara (27 mi) Loop stage in which the athletes will accumulate the greater slopes of the race. The first few miles along the Centinelas del Río Melodioso river, will be the preamble of a long stage that will travel north to Loma de la Legua, to cross the Negro river to the Nicho. Narrow trails that will take the runners into the depths of the jungle until the Nicho. Once there, the return to the campsite will be a continuation up and down a path that crosses Cimarrones and Cien Rosas until the arrival to Guanayara. Stage 5 Guanayara-Los Helechos (33 km) In line stage back to the Competition Center located at Los Helechos Hotel. After a harsh climb up to Ballesteros, the athletes will have to traverse trails and tracks in disuse until the Aguacate. Once there, and through the deepest part of the jungle, they will return to gain altitude until the Codina Park, from where they will travel the last kilometers of the race, to the finish line next to the Hotel Los Helechos. MANDATORY MATERIAL All participants must take the departure with a minimum mandatory material that will be:

9 RECOMMENDED MATERIAL The average temperatures in the month of November oscillate between 14ºC minimum and 26ºC maximum. We will find ourselves in a mountainous environment with important thermal oscillations between day and night, which can reach about CATEGORIES AND PRIZE The classifications will reflect: Individual, male and female classification Classification by teams of 2 participants, male, female and mixed AWARDS All participants who complete the 5 stages will receive a gift that will accredit them as finishers. The daily awards will recognize the winners of the stage in the individual male and female categories. The final prize will recognize the top three in each individual and team category. The top three in each individual male and female category will receive a cash prize of 1,500, 1,000 and 500.

10 THE CAMPSITE The Campsite will be located in the Guanayara Park, next to the Casa de la Gallega. Guanayara Park is a strategic settlement next to Charco Azul River, with calm and crystalline waters, ideal to rest and recovery at the end of Stages 3 and 4. It is the starting point of the Sendero Centinela del Río Melodioso that gives access to the spectacular Cascada Del Rocío and Poza del Venado, suitable for bathing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be offered in this complex and will be equipped with toilets and showers. Participants will have at their disposal a tent, for individual use, identified with the rac bib number of the rider. They will also receive a towel and an insulation mat. Sleeping bag with minimum comfort temperature of 10º is recommended. The organization will transfer a package per participant from the Hotel Los Helechos to the Campsite and it must be obligatorily the duffle bag delivered in the verifications and already identified with the bib number. The rest of the luggage will be kept in custody at the Hotel. HOTEL LOS HELECHOS It is placed in a Protected Area, having the category of Protected Natural Landscape. The Hotel Los Helechos has 105 standard rooms with two beds, 6 of them are suites, all equipped with air conditioned, private toilet, phone, satellite TV, safety box, fridge, current of 220V, 110V in the toilet just for shaving machines. It has an indoor swimming pool at the disposal of all the participants and accompanist.

11 MAP& THE PLACE Tope de Collantes Is a National Park situated south east of the Sierra de Escambray, the second highest mountainous chain of Cuba towards the center of the country. To 800 meters over the level of the sea, it appears this extraordinary and protected natural landscape, of great beauty and scientific value for botanic and Cuban ecology. It is composed by several beaks. The Pico San Juan is the highest point of meters approximately. The National Park Tope de Collantes occupies an area of hectares, where live several endemic species of the flora and fauna together with a landscape of great beauty, where abounds the forest of pines, bamboo and eucalyptus, among many other species. It is characterized by perennial vegetation due to a rainy climate and low temperatures compared to the national average. In one of the valleys, between the mountains of the Sierra, we find Presa Hanabanilla, one of the biggest and nice of Cuba. It has an area of 32 km2 and a deep of 35 meters.
