It flows 201 feet from Giant Springs into the Missouri River. Giant Springs is one of the largest freshwater springs in the U.S. It flows over 150 million gallons each day. Fun Facts There are three cows for every one person in Montana. Tourism is the 2nd largest (and fastest growing) industry in the State of Montana. In June 1805, Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery portaged around five waterfalls that encompass a ten-mile stretch of the Missouri River - here at Great Falls.
