Eectric ignitors automaticay ight the burners each time you turn the contro knobs to LIGHT. 0 Pace a fied pan on the burner grate before turning on the surface burner. Do not operate a burner for extended periods of time without having cookware on the grate. 0 Push in the contro knob and turn it countercockwise to the LIGHT position. The cicking sound is the ignitor sparking. Make sure the burner has it. 0 To stop the cicking sound after the burner ights, turn the contro knob to the cook setting you want. You can set the contro knob anywhere between HIGH and LOW. NOTE: A four eectric ignitors wi cick at the same time. However, the burner with the contro knob turned to LIGHT is the one that wi ignite. NOTE: Do not eave empty cookware, or cookware which has boied dry, on a hot surface burner. The cookware coud overheat, causing damage to the cookware or cooking product. 0 To hep shorten your cooking time, use the east amount of iquid possibe. 0 Preheat your pots and pans ony when recommended and for the shortest time possibe. 0 Start your food on a higher heat setting, then turn the contro to a ower setting to finish cooking.

The pan materia affects how fast heat transfers from the surface cooking area through the pan materia and how eveny heat spreads over the pan bottom. Choose pans that provide the best cooking resuts. 10 Eectronic dispay pad (P. 11) pad, (P. 1Q) When you first pug in the range, the dispay fashes time-of-day. If, after you set the cock (see Setting the cock section), the dispay fashes, your eectricity was off for a whie. Reset the cock. When showing the time of day, the dispay wi show the hour and minutes. When you are using the timer, the dispay wi show seconds for time ess than 1 minute, minutes for time ess than 1 hour, and hours and minutes for time over 1 hour. The timer indicator wi be it when in the timer mode. 1. Press CLOCK. The coon fashes during cock programming. PRESS 0 CuCK YOU SEE 2. Set the time. 11 The timer does not start or stop the oven. It works ike a kitchen timer. It can be set in hours and minutes up to 12 hours, 59 minutes. The timer wi dispay minutes for settings under 1 hour and hours and minutes for settings over 1 hour. You wi hear four 1 -second tones when the set time is up. NOTE: To dispay the time of day whie the timer is counting down, press CLOCK. Time of day wi be dispayed for 5 seconds before returning to the timer countdown. 1. Press TIMER. 12 IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to ight the oven burner during a power faiure. 1. Pace racks where you need them. For more information, see Positioning racks and pans in the Using the oven section. Rear 2. Push in and turn the oven temperature contro knob countercockwise to the baking/roasting temperature you want. The oven burner wi ight by itsef in seconds. 3. When baking, preheat the oven before putting food into it. During baking/roasting, the oven burner wi turn on and off to keep the oven temperature at the seected setting. NOTE: Do not pace food directy on the oven door or the oven bottom. If you want, pace the food on the rack at the extra rack position. 4. 13 Athough your new oven is propery adjusted to provide accurate temperatures, it may cook faster or sower than your od oven. If you are not satisfied with the baking/roasting resuts, you can change the temperature caibration by foowing the steps beow. NOTE: DO NOT measure the oven temperature with a thermometer. Opening the oven door wi ower the oven temperature and give you an incorrect reading. Aso, the thermometer temperature reading wi change as your oven cyces. 1. Make sure the oven temperature contro knob is turned to the off position. If the gas tube opening has become soied or cogged, use a cotton swab or a soft coth to cean the area. d, cean them with a straight pin. Do not enarge or distort the port. Do not use a wooden toothpick. If the burner needs to be adjusted, ca a quaified technician for service. 5. After ceaning the gas tube opening and ports, repace the burner cap. Aignment To repace the burner cap, make sure the aignment pins on the cap are propery aigned with the burner base. 6. Turn on the burner to see if it wi ight. Lift the bottom up and out.. 1. Unpug range or disconnect power. 2. Remove the gass bub cover in the back of the oven by turning it countercockwise. 4. Repace the ight bub cover by turning it cockwise. 5. Pug in range or reconnect power. 3. Remove the ight bub from its socket. Repace the bub with a 40-watt appiance bub. 23
