2 About our summer camps Saint Mar s College knows girls, their interests, and how the learn! It s our passion. For nearl 175 ears, Saint Mar s has educated oung women to develop their talents to make a difference in the world. We ve offered camps for girls since Our summer camps help oung women build self-esteem, master new skills, make new friends, and experience the excitement of a college atmosphere. Campers live in residence halls under the care and protection of counselors, instructors, and professional staff members. Saint Mar s facult and staff, as well as regional educators, provide instruction in campus classrooms, laboratories, studios, and on the courts. Campers eat in the Noble Famil Dining Hall with food prepared b Sodexo, the leading food services management compan in North America. Tast and nutritious options are available at each meal. FINE ARTS Fine Arts (girls entering grades 5 9) Jul 8 13 Jul 15 20 Girls, embark on a journe of self-discover through creativit.

On Frida, campers will present their work at the Performing Arts Forum for their friends and famil.

FINE ARTS Art: Campers will experiment with distinct art forms such as painting, jewelr making, wearable art, paper art, and textiles.

Creative Writing: Campers learn to express themselves on the page through unique exercises like reporting, writing ad jingles, poetr slams, monologues, or writing a love letter to a favorite food.

The dance studio is complete with a sound sstem, mirrors, and a dance floor an ideal space for students to express themselves through movement.

Past participants have created their own musical instruments, performed Broadwa musical selections, and made the most of brooms and trash cans in their own version of the exciting musical show Stomp.

Campers explore five disciplines: art creative writing dance music theatre Campers also participate in a dail concentrated class focusing on one of these disciplines. On Frida, campers will present their work at the Performing Arts Forum for their friends and famil. Whether experienced in the fine arts or not, campers are welcome to enroll in Saint Mar s Fine Arts Camp. The onl requirement is the desire to learn and join in the fun! FINE ARTS Art: Campers will experiment with distinct art forms such as painting, jewelr making, wearable art, paper art, and textiles. Whether sculpting, designing garments, or making friendship bracelets and angel wings, campers bring their own masterpieces to life inside professional art studios. Creative Writing: Campers learn to express themselves on the page through unique exercises like reporting, writing ad jingles, poetr slams, monologues, or writing a love letter to a favorite food. Dance: Each dance class has a distinct rhthm as campers develop skills in memor, musicalit, and stle. Students learn dance histor and vocabular while exploring ballet, jazz, and modern dance. The dance studio is complete with a sound sstem, mirrors, and a dance floor an ideal space for students to express themselves through movement. Music: Classes immerse campers in the basic elements of music. Past participants have created their own musical instruments, performed Broadwa musical selections, and made the most of brooms and trash cans in their own version of the exciting musical show Stomp. Campers are invited to bring a musical instrument from home if the wish to share their talents. Theatre: Character, voice, and movement provide the building blocks for campers to express their dramatic potential and develop performance skills and collaboration techniques through theatre games and group exercises. In the costume shop campers master a specific decorating technique, such as beading, ruffling, or embroider and acquire hand and machine sewing skills. At week s end, the present their designs in a fashion show for famil and friends. Field trips ma include visits to The Histor Museum in South Bend to view the Historic Costume Collection, or to a local boutique to meet with the owner for a Q&A session. Our newl renovated athletic complex includes the addition of a field house with three indoor volleball, basketball, and tennis courts. Volleball and basketball camps will be held inside the new complex. You will participate in drills for ball handling, footwork, shooting, and defense. Coaches will teach ou offensive and defensive philosophies that will be applied in drills and scrimmages. TENNIS JULY 8 12, JULY Work with coaches to develop and refine all our tennis skills: footwork, ground strokes, serves, service returns, and volles. Coaches focus on doubles and singles strategies, and ou will match up against other campers in contests, games, and tournament pla throughout the week. VOLLEYBALL JULY 8 12, JULY As a volleball camper, ou will learn and practice fundamental skills on the court. The staff will cover serving, passing, setting, hitting, and individual defense. After a week of skill instruction, the camp will end with a tournament. LACROSSE JULY Session I Jul 8 12 Session II Jul As a lacrosse camper, ou will take the field each da to learn and practice fundamental skills. You will participate in drills for passing, catching, shooting, dodging, and defensive skills.
