4 COMPANY PROFILE Born in 1971 in Montale, from the creativity and the craftsmanship of the Caso family, the Materassificio Montalese has grown over the years to become an entrepreneurial success. Today it covers an area of over 20,000 square meters and its daily production has increased over the years from about 40 to more than 3,000 mattresses today. The Materassificio Montalese has gained a leading position in many foreign markets and continues to expand its presence in emerging markets. With its brand now it is present in over 40 countries worldwide. In order to improve the possible efficiency and quality of its products, the Materassificio Montalese has always placed great attention to automation and the development of new technologies. Studies over the years have led to the delineation of a new technique that reduces the physical footprint and environmental impact of our mattresses: thanks to vacuum packaging, in fact, the mattresses reduce their volume by about 90%, making it extremely convenient storage, transport and distribution, with significant benefits for the environment. But the real pride of the Materassificio Montalese is the uniqueness that the machines used have and give to each product. Internal digital printers for custom packaging, four-colour labelling machines for customization of the products Private Label and embroidery machines for custom labels: quality investments that have led the company to distinguish itself within the industry. 4

RESEARCH AND QUALITY The department of Research and Development of Materassificio Montalese is constantly engaged in studying and implementing new methods and materials that, in addition to transfer in the mattresses the best of technological evolution, aim to take advantage of all the benefits of organic products through the use of essential oils of vegetable seeds and soy-based materials, to ensure a sound sleep in complete harmony with nature. In order to meet the needs of each buyer, Materassificio Montalese uses an innovative technology called Ergo Check, a particular test system of the comforts of products that, by analyzing the pressure exerted by the various body parts (with as many as 648 sensors ) on different areas of the mattress, allows you to customize the capabilities of support depending on customer requirements. The products of Materassificio Montalese can boast the highest standards of safety, ergonomics and environmental care. Among the main certifications of compliance and quality, enough to remember the Oeko Tex Standard 100, a certification that guarantees that the products do not contain or release substances harmful to human health, the LGA Pruf Zertifikat, the special 1IM of the Interior ministry for fire resistance, the BS (British Standard) 100 (UK) and 16 CFR 1632: 1991, 16 CFR 1633: 2006 (USA) certifications and the CATAS that, according to technical Italian, European and international regulations, certifies safety, durability, reactions and quality of all products. Our company is a licensee of the Woolmark brand, as well as of the certificates MEDICAL DEVICE Class 1 in accordance with Directive 93/42/EC, Ref Leg.DM332 - August 27, Some of our mattresses are made of ecological materials. 5

6 THE WELLNESS CULTURE Sleep is an active phase of daily life that is essential for the whole body s equilibrium. It ensures the gradual recovery of the mental and physical energies expended during the day. Having an uncomfortable mattress means sleeping an average of 1 hour less than people who sleep comfortably. According to studies, over the course of a single night a person shifts position 100 times on the average. The sleeping environment and the mattress we choose for our rest may actually reduce excessive movement and the resulting micro-awakenings, and symptoms of insomnia. In this regard, scientific research has drawn attention to the importance of choosing a good sleep system. Not only is it important to make wiser choices, but it should be taken into account that each individual mattress component contributes to the quality of the sleep and its continuity. It is resistant to mold, dust mites and microorganisms and is a great ally of the wellbeing of the night s rest. BAYSCENT The action of the microcapsules Bayscent, active within the fabric, is based on an effective prevention. Contrary to traditional techniques involving the use of fragrances such as smell covering products, rarely effective and short lasting, the Bayscent treatment helps to eliminate odors and gives the fabric a good clean scent. The treated fabric Bayscent acts on 3 levels: first, it considerably lowers the vapor pressure of the odor, then neutralizes the bacterial degenerative action, by acting on the receptor, then refreshes the environment with a delicately scented odor. This treatment maintains the original quality of the fibers, allowing an effective perspiration of the body during sleep and its effectiveness is maintained for a long time. The version Bayscent Aloe is also available, with microcapsules containing aloe vera essence with extraordinary beneficial properties (anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-oxidant). AIR SPACE An extraordinarily breathable fabric, used mainly on the lateral bands of the mattresses. A system based on maximum ventilation of the mattress so that the airflow is constant. It eliminates 100% all forms of moisture that might be created internally, allowing a healthier and relaxing sleep. LYOCELL FIBER An innovative fabric made of completely natural origin lyocell fiber. The result is a fabric completely sterilized and totally free from mold, bacteria and mites. It is also hypoallergenic because the treatment Medic+Area does not use any artificial chemicals, only natural products, for a highly hygienic use. 8

The silver ions, by binding with the enzymes of the cell of the microbe, inhibit its activity and multiplication, while keeping intact in time its antimicrobial function. Thanks to the radiant power (which conserves the heat generated by the human body) and reflective power (that is uniform distribution of heat itself to the outside) of silver fiber, Fusion is also able to regulate body temperature. It is produced without the addition of uncontrollable blowing agents and partially replaces the synthetic products with natural elements. CLIMA FRESH Climafresh is the result of extensive research in nanotechnology, a new material with unique features and outstanding performance. The flexible memory foam is blended with microcapsules called PCM (Phase Change Material), the most advanced stage in the evolution of polyurethane performance. PCM, first used by NASA in the aerospace sector, is utilised wherever combining flexibility, breathability and heat exchange is needed. PCM absorbs the heat from the human body and maintains a constant internal temperature of the material, thus the memory foam acquires an extraordinary ability to remain cool, rather than warming as is typical with prolonged periods of human contact. Silver salts in the material composition render it resistant to bacterial and mold growth. VISCO MIND The Visco Mind is a self-shaping material of medium density (about 50 kg/m3) emulsified with water without the use of CFCs and with elastic memory. It is in fact a visco-elastic foam with strong ergonomic qualities, which conforms to the shape of the body slowly yielding, without any contrary pressure. It supports the spine properly, is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. EXTRA SOFT FOAM This unique material allows for performance technically superior to regular padding: it provides an extra-soft effect and is ten times softer than standard padding. Available the version with over 3000, 1500, and 900 springs in the double bed model. 100% LATEX FOAM The Latex is a substance extracted from the tree Hevea brasiliensis through an incision in the bark and collecting the milk that flows from it. The latex foam comes from the curing of the latex milk. This material is capable, according to several studies, to overcome many problems of allergies becoming increasingly common.
