It is used on the floor of the roasting oven in a two-oven AGA to give a baking environment similar to the baking oven found on other models. Its heavy aluminium construction dissipates the heat and an internal cushion of hot air surrounds the cake to ensure even cooking with a flat top to the finished cake. It is supplied with three high-quality cake tins (6, 7 and 8 inch) and their carrier is used to cook large cakes that require baking at a moderate temperature for a cooking time of 45 minutes or more. The carrier is also great for lifting steamed puddings in and out of the Cake Baker when it is used for steaming them in the simmering oven. 15 [AGA CLEANING] Your AGA works hard for you and needs a little care too. Here s what you need to give it a much deserved sparkle. CAST IRON OVENS Food spills are automatically carbonised by the heat of the oven and quickly disappear. Ovens merely need to be brushed out occasionally with the wire brush. ENAMEL SURFACES Apply AGA Enamel Cleaner, leave for 5-10 minutes then wipe with another damp cloth, then buff with an absorbent towel. INSULATED LIDS The boiling plate lid is, to a large extent, self-cleaning due to the high temperature of the hotplate below. Leave the lids up for a while to cool. Use AGA Chrome and Steel Cleaner or a damp soapfilled wire pad to clean the inside of the simmering plate lid. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry. AGA RECOMMENDS HOTPLATES Keep hotplates clean by brushing with the AGA Classic Hotplate Brush. Clean hotplates are essential to ensure efficient heat transfer to saucepans and kettles.
