Range strategist Viveca Olsson has been exploring different lifestyles from all over the world and found out new discoveries: 15 years ago most people would be eating together by the kitchen table or dining table. Now, we eat all over the home, anytime. That s one of the biggest change really, that inspired us to design a new IKEA 365+ collection. It s about dinnerware, serve ware, pots and knives that are more up to date whith how - and especially where - we eat in our homes today. IKEA 365+ has since 1997 been one of our most popular eating and cooking series. Even though still popular it was time to make an update. Design, function and longlasting quality have turned it into an everyday classic, making it easier and more fun for people all over the world to eat and cook food at home.

That s why a team of four designers have collaborated throughout the whole collection - Henrik Preutz, Wiebke Braasch, Ola Wihlborg and Nike Karlsson: The dinnerware has a simple but smart design that works for all types of food and all occasions. The plates are higher on the sides, which makes them easy to hold and eat from. The bowls are also suitable to serve from, and can be used for everything from salad to breakfast cereal and cake. Our goal is to make everyday life a little easier and a little more luxurious. In the same way, the tempered glasses and heat-resistant glass carafe and jug are durable and resistant products that are suitable for hot drinks. And even the wine glasses are stackable to save space in the cabinet.

21 IKEA PRESS KIT /APRIL 2015 / days of cooking The pots bare many of our new insights about cooking at home. You can t always see them - and that s the whole point. They are just there to work for you, from the cabinet to the hob to the table to the dishwasher to the cabinet. Repeatedly in a neverending everyday loop. So we added a couple of details. Take the new glass lid for instance. We all want to see what s cooking under there, and constantly lifting the lid to check if sauce is cooking or water is boiling not only prolongs the cooking time, it s a bit annoying.

22 From one pot dish to different things cooking PH IKEA PRESS KIT /APRIL 2015 / 22 We wanted to make the cookware in strong and durable stainless steel that would last for years and resist corrosion. We ended up with pots and saucepans so strong that the product developer and all of his 100 kilos stood on the handles to show they would not break under the weight. They passed the test.
