MARCH SPECIAL EVENTS Pinewood Derby: We are proud to present the 5th Annual Big Cedar Pinewood Derby. This American tradition has been around since 1953, promoting good sportsmanship and craftsmanship through friendly competition. Can your family create the fastest car? Or the most original design? If so, join the Big Cedar team and put your car to the test! Build your Pinewood Derby car at home or make your car after you arrive at Big Cedar. Judging categories include: Funniest Design, Most Unique Design, Best Paint Job, and Most Realistic Design. Pre-registration starts at 1:30pm on March 17, 24, and 31, and the race starts at 2:00pm on the same Saturday dates. Age groups are 8 & under, 9-13, and 14 & up. All events and pre-registration will be located in the Worman Room. Official Derby cars and supplies can be purchased at Guest Services. The race is complimentary, decorating is $25/car. Please note: all cars must be ready by race time, so don t delay getting your car ready for the race! Well Being Fitness Classes in the Ozark Room: Sixtyminute workouts that will help you relax, re-energize, and get fit. Classes held Sunday- Saturday. Must be 18 years and up to participate. Fish are shot with a barbed arrow that is attached with a special line to a reel mounted on the bow of the boat. Offered starting at dusk for approximately 2.5 hours. Must be 12 years or older. If under the age of 18, must be accompanied by an adult. Limited to two people per boat plus guide. $125/per person or $175 for two people. Starting March 13, offered Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday. Reservations required. Guide Excursions: Looking to learn something new? Join us for a 2-hour Guided Fishing Excursion with a professional guide onboard a Tracker Fishing Barge while learning techniques for baiting hooks, catching bait fish, and stringing a trot line. Offered daily starting March 11 through October 13. $40 per person. Reservations required. Culinary Cooking 101: Join the chefs from Big Cedar and learn new secrets that add flair to any event. Classes are: January 14: Cooking with Bourbon. Celebrate Whiskey Weekend with us as you learn the secrets to cooking with Bourbon. This is one spirit that s sure to add a kick to any dish. February 11 or 14: Chocolate Making & Champagne Tasting. This class comes to you just in time for you to pick up a few tricks to share with a someone special on Valentine s day. Learn the perfect way to make those chocolate-covered treats. February 18: Meals for Two & Champagne Tasting. Don t spend a fortune on that Valentine s dinner! Watch our Big Cedar chefs as they introduce you to a couple of new recipes made especially for two. March 17: The Perfect Irish Breakfast, Beer Tasting. Celebrate like a true Irishman and learn how to make the perfect Irish breakfast. And what better way to top off breakfast than a beer tasting?

4 Whiskey Weekend: Big Cedar Lodge will have the fireplaces crackling as we break the seal on the first annual Whiskey Weekend! Whiskey, Bourbon, and Scotch from all over the world come together for an evening of tasting, education, and exquisite culinary pairings. Sunday, January 15, 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Grandview Conference Center. $125 per person. Reservations required. Big Cedar Wine Club: Everyone is invited to this wine tasting event held at the Worman House on January 10 at 5:30pm. Only $25 for the wine tasting. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park Dogwood Canyon Trail Rides: Enjoy an authentic trail ride across the rolling hills of Dogwood Canyon. Mount up for a 1-hour ride taking you to some of the most beautiful scenes in the Ozarks. Offered Tuesday-Saturday at 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 2:30. Starting February 26, rides offered Monday-Saturday. Must be at least age 8 and 48 inches tall. Weight limit is 260 pounds. $30 per person. Novice Archery at Dogwood Canyon: Go from beginner to winner in this archery demonstration and competition. The 3D course includes 5 different life-like animals all worth different points. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be crowned. Participants will receive a Dogwood Canyon 3D Archery t-shirt. $38.95/ person. Wednesday and Saturday starting March 14. 9:30am-12:00pm. Reservations required. Advanced Archery at Dogwood Canyon: Put your skills to the test in our multiple-3d Target archery course as you shoot from a tree stand, ground blinds, and shot distances over 40 yards for your chance to win a free overnight stay at Dogwood Canyon. Campfire Wagon Rides: Starting March 4, enjoy a wagon ride to a campfire site on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
