2 What is included? Return Flights on Virgin and Delta! Airport Transfers Accommodation, shared rooms of 8 or 10 All visits on the itinerary One Metro/Subway pass Insurance (see previous ) Food : at least one meal per day. Includes Breakfast at Metro Diner, The View (revolving restaurant, evening buffet) and BB King s Lunch Buffet and various food courts. (Please note that while all three of these restaurants do cater for special dietary requirements they do not guarantee this)

3 Accommodation We are staying in fairly basic but clean accommodation (see website) The hostel has a kitchen for self-catered breakfasts and a good café open early in the morning. 4 Money Spending money for food and shopping This could be done for $15 a day with care.

5 Remember Padlock to lock your suitcase. Ideally don t bring anything valuable, if you must carry it on you at all times. (I will look after passports) Toiletries (earplugs?) Alarm (phone, charger and US adapter) Pen and notebook Coat hangers? Large suitcase leave some room! Food/snacks

6 Clothing Warm clothing Comfortable waterproof footwear. We are on our feet all day. Be prepared for snow, freezing conditions and wet weather. Smart casual will be required for some visits and the meal at The View in the Marriott Hotel, Times Square and the Ballet. Please remember there is a weight limit to your luggage of 20kg and no liquids in your hand luggage

7 Carry with you at all times Contact card given out on arrival on Thursday 14th. This will have all our contact details on and other numbers in case of emergency. Metro card (underground ticket allowing unlimited travel for the week) (do not lose these they are expensive to replace) Daily Itinerary Map (available from the reception area of the hostel) Phone (please check they work overseas) Cash

8 Rules/Requests School rules apply NY state alcohol rules are strictly enforced No smoking Keep to the timings of the itinerary at all times In free time stay in groups minimum of 3 Don t leave the group at any time Please be attentive and inquisitive during tours/talks Please remember there are other occupants in the hostel and stick to hostel requests to be in your rooms quiet between 10pm and 8am. There are fines for every disturbance made. Keep ID / map / itinerary / cash/metro card with you at all times Be alert, careful to stay with the group and aware of your surroundings, especially on the subway.

9 Other Points Think how you will cope with jet lag (sleep on the way home, maybe not on the way there) Take your own paracetamol You will be eating on the move have / bring snacks

10 Groups This is for ease of registering. Registration will happen at the start and end of every metro ride as well as arrival and departure at each destination. If you get lost contact your group leader, you may need to come up to ground level to get a signal. Remain calm, we will find you!

16 Passports & outstanding documentation Passports and by Monday 4 th December. They will be kept in the school safe until we leave. Any changes in medication, please let me know. Anyone not returning to PPC please let me know by Phone numbers and contact I will have a school phone in NY I will pass this number to you before we depart. 17 Dates and Times Arrive at PPC by 10am on Thurs 14 th Dec Meet in the BSR bring luggage here We will hand out full itineraries, maps, luggage tags etc. Each student will be allocated a group and a member of staff We arrive to the USA late, consider picking up, or bringing something to eat, e.g. snack/energy bars to keep you going until the following morning. On return you need to let me know if you intend not to return to PPC ( from parents) We return to PPC and expect to arrive at midday on Wednesday 20 th Dec, please keep mobiles on that morning for more accurate timings.
