3 GREAT OCEAN ROAD & GRAMPIANS $395 One of the world s best coastal routes blended with the beauty and history of the Grampians National Park, making this one of the best trips in Australia! Day 1 Departing we cruise through the Hills with a mid morning stop at a country bakery to grab a bite to eat. We eat lunch before we marvel at Mt. Arapiles then onto the Grampians National Park. Here we hike to the bottom of Mc Kenzie Falls and see breathtaking views from The Balconies. In the late afternoon, see the kangaroos and other wildlife come out to play. We stay overnight in the heart of the Grampians National Park in hostel accommodation. Day 2 Visit the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre and spend a great morning hiking the beautiful Grampians, or opt to go rock climbing instead (extra costs apply subject to availability). We enjoy lunch at Tower Hill Reserve, the site of a dormant volcano, wetland, lake and home to lots of wildlife. We head south to the Great Ocean Road and Bay of Martyrs, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge, part of the fantastic coastal scenery in this area, finishing the day with a sunset at the spectacular Twelve Apostles. Overnight is in hostel accommodation on the Great Ocean Road. Day 3 After breakfast, we soak up the beauty of the Otway National Park. Walk through some of the oldest temperate rainforest in the world. Marvel at the historical section of the Ocean Road carved by returned WWI servicemen. It provides one of the most spectacular coastal roads that Great Walks through the Grampians National Park Sunset at the Twelve Apostles Otway Ranges Temperate Rainforest Local Surf Towns & Seaside Villages you will ever see. Explore the artistic seaside villages of Apollo Bay and Lorne. 4 BAROSSA VALLEY $85 The Barossa Valley is Australia s most famous wine region. The Groovy day begins by travelling through the Hills, stopping at the world s largest Rocking Horse and the amazing Whispering Wall and then on to our first wine tasting experience. We spend approximately 45 minutes in the Jacob s Creek Visitor s Centre, going through the history of the Jacob s Creek brand, followed by a structured wine tasting and an educational presentation. Our next winery is Kies, a small family owned winery with ironstone cottage cellar door. Their wines are exclusively sold from the cellar door and we taste a selection of their range today, while the tour guide prepares our lunch. Lunch is a barbeque extravaganza including the Aussie speciality of marinated kangaroo, as well as chicken, steak, sausages and a range of fresh salads. We head to Richmond Grove, a picturesque winery set on the banks of the North Para River, where we tour their cellars and enjoy their wine. We fit in a trip to Mengler s Hill lookout to admire the views across the valley. 5 KANGAROO ISLAND WILDLIFE ADVENTURES Our tours start when we pick you up from and drive towards Kangaroo Island via the Fleurieu Peninsula, experiencing some fantastic coastal views. We arrive at Cape Jervis and jump on the ferry as we cross Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw on the island. From there we start our Kangaroo Island experience with the panoramic views atop Prospect Hill. Our days of action, wildlife and wilderness include up close encounters with sea lions on a beach walk at Seal Bay, sand-boarding at the Little Sahara, kayaking down Harriet River, snorkelling and swimming at beautiful North Coast beaches and optional quad biking around the bush at sunset. Overnight is spent at our private accommodation at Hanson Bay, surrounded by koalas, kangaroos, possums and the occasional echidna. After dinner, whether an Aussie BBQ feast or some other tour specialty, we spend the night around the campfire, story telling, wildlife spotting and playing the didgeridoo. You can choose to sleep inside in bunk beds or under the stars in swags, with all bedding provided. We check out the famous Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, where we view a colony of New Zealand Fur Seals. We spend time in the Flinders Chase National Park, the largest on the island, where we choose a selection of short hikes. Flinders Chase is home to vast tracts of untamed wilderness, the elusive platypus and heaps of other wildlife, which we ll do our best to see. At the end of the day we make our way back to Penneshaw for the return crossing to Cape Jervis and the drive back into, usually arriving at about 8.30pm. 6 ROCK PATROL $745 Day 1 With an early start, we head north through one of Australia s oldest wine regions, the Clare Valley. We enter the Southern and after lunch hike Dutchman s Stern for stunning views of the Spencer Gulf and surrounding ranges and plains. Tonight we camp, amongst the redgum trees of Stony Creek. Day 2 After breakfast we head to Coober Pedy, home to 80% of the world s opal and a landscape a lot like Mars. We take a tour of an opal mine and check out some of the town s unique underground attractions. We also make some new friends at Josephine s Kangaroo Orphanage. Tonight we sleep like the locals underground, in bunkhouse accommodation. Day 3 We head towards Uluru. On arrival we set up camp and go out for our first Uluru sunset. Nothing really prepares you for The Rock it s awesome! Day 4 After another fantastic breakfast we enjoy a walk around the base of Uluru and spend time learning about the Aboriginal people at the Cultural Centre. We return to the campground for lunch and spend the rest of day soaking up the magic of Uluru. Day 5 Up with the birds for breakfast, today it s at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). We hike the majestic Valley of the Winds with its incredibly ancient rock formations. Lunch is at the campground, with a departure for the bar and swimming pool at Kings Creek Station just down the road. 7 DESERT PATROL $945 Day 1 We escape the city heading north to the and the starting point for our outback desert adventure. Passing through small country towns like Quorn and Hawker, the scenery gradually changes to the legendary landscapes of the oldest continent on earth. Tonight we stay at Angorichina, in the magnificent Parachilna Gorge. Day 2 Destination outback, with a day of driving the dirt ahead of us. From Marree, rich in its history of camel trains, along the Oodnadatta Track, we follow the Old Ghan Railway and its long abandoned railway settlements. This is remote territory, with red, stony plains stretching to the horizon. We traverse the bottom of Lake Eyre and stop at Coward Springs for a relaxing, all-natural spa. At William Creek (SA s smallest town) we camp under the desert stars and drink a beer in the iconic Aussie pub with the locals. We set up camp at Ayers Rock Resort Campground, for nights four and five before watching the sunset over Uluru, taking time to absorb the beauty and majesty of this place. Day 5 A sunrise breakfast at Uluru, followed by a guided cultural walk around the base. Hear about Tjukurpa, the religious and social beliefs of the Anangu people leading you to an understanding of the cultural landscape. We visit the Cultural Centre and then head back to the camp for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. Day 6 We spend the morning at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), hiking the magnificent Valley of the Winds followed by lunch and an afternoon drive to Watarrka (Kings Canyon). Camping tonight at Kings Creek station. Day 7 A morning at beautiful Watarrka, through the sandstone domes and down into the Garden of Eden. Cool off in the waterhole before returning to camp for a feed. Then it s on to our final destination Alice Springs. Approximate arrival time 6.30pm. We traverse the bottom of Lake Eyre and stop at Coward Springs for a relaxing, all-natural spa. This is remote territory, with red, stony plains stretching to the horizon. At William Creek we stay at the Trillion Star Hotel and camp out under the desert s sky in our comfy swags. Day 3 Taking an isolated track through Anna Creek, the largest working cattle station in the world, we head for opal capital of the world for lunch. We take an underground tour to learn about the history of and its opal. Free time is available to explore the charms of the opal town or noodle for opals. Nothing really prepares you for The Rock it s awesome! After lunch we visit the Cultural Centre to learn about the Aboriginal people of the region and walk around the base of Uluru. We end our first day with a spectacular sunset over Uluru. Tonight we camp at the Ayers Rock Resort Campground in comfy swags under the desert stars, our home for the next two nights. Day 2 Today we head for sunrise and breakfast at The Rock, before we hike Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and the majestic Valley of the Winds with its incredibly ancient rock formations before returning to the campsite for relaxing afternoon and another Uluru sunset. Day 3 A fantastic Uluru sunrise and breakfast before we head to Kings Creek Station, Australia s largest exporter of wild camels and our camp site for tonight. There is time for you to swim in the pool or take up on any of the optional extra activities they have on offer. We hike Watarrka (Kings Canyon) to experience the fantastic views of the gorge, huge sandstone walls and an immense canyon floor. Here we trek through the Garden of Eden and take a dip in the waterhole to cool down. Day 4 Today we cruise to, opal capital of the world. Incredible changing landscape, kangaroos, emus, eagles and road trains all unfold before us and a view of the striking sandstone colours of the Breakaways on the way. On arrival we visit the local kangaroo orphanage and later enjoy dinner, lots of stories and an overnight stay in an underground bunkhouse. Day 5 We spend the morning in Coober Pedy and take a tour of the town and an opal mine. We also have the opportunity to noodle for opals, visit an opal shop or any of the other underground attractions. We continue our journey south in the afternoon as we travel on down to Port Augusta, where some passengers express back to arriving at 9pm tonight, while others continue onto the foothills of the. Those who stay onboard the Groovy bus back to will sleep among the red gum trees of Stony Creek Bush camp. Day 6 This morning we hike Dutchman s Stern for stunning views of the Spencer Gulf and surrounding ranges and plains. We stop at a winery in the Clare Valley before cruising to arriving at around 6pm. We can organise as much or as little you like, from just the bus and driver to arranging the whole itinerary, including meals, accommodation, attractions and activities. We have a team of tour guides who specialise in the regions they travel, from the SA wine regions,, Outback and Kangaroo Island to the Red Centre, Great Ocean Road and beyond. VEHICLES We have access to a range of different vehicles from Toyota Hiace Commuters seating 10 passengers to Toyota Coasters seating 21 passengers or more luxurious coaches seating up to 37 passengers. ACCOMMODATION Depending on where you want to travel and the size of your budget, you can opt to stay in hotels, motels, apartments, cabins, dormitory, tents or if you re a little more adventurous we can provide swags for your group to sleep under the stars. You can even choose to mix it up with a combination of all of the above if you like.
