Welcome Dinner at your Hotel. Day 2: Golf Day at Royal Wellington After Breakfast transfer to Royal Wellington Golf Club. Return late afternoon. Te Pania's guests are just two minutes walk from Napier s famous art deco style main street. You won't find a more convenient location from which to base your stay in Napier. Golf at Cape Kidnappers or Hastings Golf Club,Art Deco Walk, Wine Trail After Breakfast transfers to Golf if required or to local activities. Return late afternoon. Those who are not Golfing this day can use the coach & driver and create their own itinerary, we would suggest firstly doing the Art Deco walk then wine tasting at 2/3 wineries(te Mata/Church Road/Sileni Estate/Craggy range/cj Pask). finishing with lunch at Mission Estate or other local Vineyard. OR you may prefer to do a self-guided cycle day.

(optional) Cape Kidnappers Golf Course This unique golf course has very interesting holes you wouldn't find anywhere else in the world, due to the dramatic landscape of the course. It's an overwhelming experience to stand up on the cliffs, 140 meters above sea level, and look out across the waves far below in Hawke's Bay. Cape Kidnappers is not true links terrain, with the wrinkles of sand dunes; instead the land tilts toward the sea as a series of ridges jutting out toward the edge of the cliffs. Yet, the play is seaside golf at its finest. The surface is firm and fast, the conditions can be windy, and the player who can control her trajectory will be master of the course. You'll hit shots over the tops of the tea trees, and play along the edges of deep ravines. It is an amazing experience!! (optional) Art Deco Deco City Stroll Guided Walk - 1 hour This is a one hour walking tour commencing from Napier's i Site (Visitors' Information Centre), Marine Parade and finishes at the Deco Centre,7 Tennyson Street. Your accredited guide will bring Napier's fascinating architecture to life for you as you take an easy stroll through the compact Art Deco Quarter in the vibrant city centre. All walkers receive an informative Art Deco Walk booklet. Complimentary refreshments and a video screening are available afterwards. (optional) Takaro Trails Cycling Tours Self Guided - Ahuriri to Havelock North -(4 hrs) Departing the port village of Ahuriri follow the Water Ride trail to the Napier CBD, a world renowned Art Deco treasure. From here you ride south along Marine Parade and enjoy spectacular views out towards Cape Kidnappers before continuing on to the settlement of Clive, a great place for a refreshment stop. From Clive the trail continues to East Clive before turning inland through orchard country to Havelock North. A visit to Te Mata Estate and Black Barn Vineyard wineries is 'a must' on the final leg into Havelock North village. You will then be transferred by mini bus back to your accommodation. Trail length - 35km one way. Allow approx 4 hrs.cost includes bike and helmet hire, transfer back to Ahuriri, riding instructions and water bottle. Dinner own arrangements.

4 Day 5: Napier to Taupo. Stay & Play at Wairakei Resort Travel to Taupo. 5 Carving and Weaving Schools - Te Puia is home to the New Zealand National Carving and Weaving Schools. Te Wānanga Whakairo Rākau is where the prestigious art of carving is taught by Master Carvers. Te Rito, our weaving school, trains students in the art and skills of weaving. Watch the carvers and weavers as they carry out the traditions of their Māori ancestors. Taonga Gallery and Gift Shop - Take home something unique and special from Te Puia. See a wide range of wood carvings, greenstone (New Zealand jade) carvings, woven items and other authentic Māori treasures (taonga). Cultural performances include: Pōwhiri (ceremonial welcome) - This is a ceremony of encounter between two parties who meet for the first time. Host warriors challenge the visiting party to find out their intentions. If these are friendly, the visitors are invited into the ancestral meeting house. Hongi (ceremonial greeting) - The gentle pressing of noses symbolising the joining of two life forces creating an atmosphere of friendship and unity. Kapa haka (cultural performance) - This performance celebrates the very best of Māori performing arts. It includes weaponry displays. action songs, the famed haka (challenge) and the graceful poi. Titi torea (stick game) - This was a favourite pastime of old and young alike. Performers pass batons to and fro in time to the rhythm of the song, testing their skills of agility and hand-eye co-ordination. Haka (challenge) - Before battle the warrior would summon all his strength to perform this challenge. Aggressive actions, such as bulging our the eyes, thrusting out the tongue and making guttural sounds, woud serve to intimidate any enemy.
