4 Servus & Welcome to Vienna! We, the EBN-Team (Erasmus Buddy Network), warmly welcome you to Austria s beautiful capital city. As part of the students union called ÖH WU we have been supporting exchange students for over 25 years. This year we have again prepared a varied spare time program full of trips, events and parties to offer you an extensive impression of the life in and around Vienna. To give you a general overview we are providing this booklet about all our planned activities. Of course you will be informed about deadlines, etc in our newsletter. 5 Werner Neuwirth President ÖH WU We, the WU s Student Association (ÖH WU), welcome you to Vienna and at Vienna University of Economics and Business short WU. The ÖH WU is the students lobby at WU, representing your interests in discussions and conflicts with professors, assistant professors, the administration and the government. The primary aim of the ÖH WU is to help you during your studies at WU. We offer brochures, consulting services and of course always an open ear in case of uprising problems. On the following pages the Department of International Affairs (Erasmus Buddy Network) put together a calendar with trips and events they have planned for the upcoming term. The Department is your primary source of information and consultation! Check out their website (ebnwu.com) for further information. 6 4 EBN Friends Card The EBN Friends Card is the tool for a perfect start into your exchange semester in Vienna. As an EBN Friends Card Member you ll get a lot of discounts and advantages, such as a free HoT sim card with a cheap phone plan or a reduction of 20 for each of our trips. All benefits of the EBN Friends Card are listed on the next page. To get one of these great cards you just need to visit us in our office (WU Campus / Building SC) during our opening hours. There we ll create your personal card for only 5.

That s why we are organizing two parties every week at which you can party even harder. Each club offers drinks at student friendly prices, a great mix Erasmus Party Night every Monday at Ride Club of music and a great opportunity to meet new people and your friends. 11 Everybody has to visit the Oktoberfest once! But just a few have the oppertunity to visit it like we do: We'll rent a whole train with sleeping waggons and a disco waggon for ourselves. Then we'll head to Munich overnight having an all-you-can-drink party in our disco waggon. Arrived in Munich, we've got reserved VIP seats at the Oktoberfest and in the evening we'll ride back to Vienna overnight partying again in our disco waggon... 18 Trips Salzburg The birthplace of Wolfang Amadeus Mozart is the crown jewel of alpine cities. The city center is full of baroque style buildings and its scenic alpine backdrop is breathtaking. For this reason the city got an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Come with us and see this amazing typical Austrian city at the Salzach River. 25 Our office We try to provide you with the best possible help-desk service at our office located directly at the WU Campus. You can find us in the Student Center building on the ground floor. Just enter the ÖH WU and ask for our EBN office (room no. SC.0.749) at the front desk. During our office hours you can sign up for each of our events or just get information and answers to any issues that might arise during your stay in Vienna.
