1 Vision: The Heart of Biking Nelson Tasman Cycle Trail Trust Strategic Plan That the Nelson- Tasman region is a premier destination for domestic and international visitors drawn by a range of world class cycle trails and associated attractions and facilities, and has a high quality commuter and recreation cycle trail network for the local population. Purpose To establish, promote and maintain designated cycle assets in the Nelson, Tasman, region To educate and to foster appreciation of the advantages of cycle assets. Principles To promote the use of cycle assets for recreation, tourism, health, scenic, economic and education purposes; To work co- operatively with others involved in the provision and preservation of cycle assets; To maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. 3 Priorities: 1. Get Tasman s Great Taste Trail completed between Wakefield and Spooners Tunnel/Norris Picnic area 2. Promote Nelson- Tasman as a cycling destination, nationally and internationally Priority Action items Further enhancements to the TGTT Communication User friendly signage Loved by locals, councils respond Mapping (Google, Map my ride) Give people / organisations credit Trust activities and processes Funding for construction TDC and NCC Major donors Central Government Grant funding agencies Sustainable operational funding for NTCTT Marketing Maintenance Enhancement Administration December 2015: complete Belgrove to Spooners/ Norris Picnic area December 2016: complete Wakefield to Belgrove December 2017: complete to Kohatu December 2017: complete to Tapawera December 2018: complete to Woodstock (Dependent on route confirmation) Develop a single page summary of communication priorities (role of Trust, Official Partners and Regional Cycle Forum) Maintain Website and keep up- to- date aim for it to be a one- stop- shop for biking in Nelson and Tasman, web stats Improve signage on TGTT safety, construction, acknowledgement of sponsors At least two newsletters and two meetings with Official Partners per annum Review marketing activities, including the marketing plan and arrangement with Nelson Tasman Tourism. Increase presence on Facebook and other social media Participate in local events that give exposure to the Trust and provide opportunities for fundraising Provide copy or opportunities for exposure in media and other publications that promote the user experience Annual Trust agenda item in October review strategic plan and/or plans for coming year Identify ongoing support requirements and implement; Obtain funding for administrative support Maintain and enhance key systems operating Customer Relationship Management, document management, system to ensure delivery on legal and contractual obligations and other undertakings Budget review at each Trust meeting Trail Counter reports To complete building the TGTT, an additional $2.5m (approx.) is required. The Trust has a staged timeline for completion, which is reliant on continued support Major priority for 2015 is a funding application to the LGB Special Projects fund for TGTT Stage 2 Update construction timelines and funding needs at each Trust meeting Meet with potential donors Set annual budget including how to generate that income official partners, brochure/map, virtual trail sales, funding applications, major donors, local projects other opportunities?
