Departure Summary... Back cover The Islands The Whitsundays consist of 74 islands located in the middle of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. These islands are pristine, with 66 in their natural state. The area is managed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and well protected for future generations through programs such as the Ecotourism Certification, administered by Ecotourism Australia. Sailing Since 1985 we have been providing Whitsunday Sailing Tours. Guests can choose between Maxi Sail, Adventure Sail, Tall Ships or Deluxe Sail and Cruise. Whether travelling independently, as a couple, or with a group, we have a tour option available. Our experienced crew take the worry out of sailing around the islands and reefs. With all Marine and Park Permits, we will take you to the best locations planned around the prevailing wind and tides. There are many smooth water stops nestled around the islands, so overnight anchorages are pleasant for sleeping and offer spectacular scenery! 3 Airlie Beach ISLAND WALKS Gateway to the Islands Whitsunday Ngaro Sea Trail The Whitsunday Ngaro Sea Trail is across six of the Islands, offering a variety of walks from short and easy to difficult longer walks which include steep grades to the highest points on the islands. On our scheduled tours, guests experience at least one easy guided walk, and the multi-day tours may include two or three walks depending on the itinerary followed. This protection helps to foster the growth of many soft corals, such as the Coral Fans. These vivid soft corals attract many species of colourful fish. Guests will get the opportunity to snorkel when we stop at the bays around the islands. A thorough briefing will be provided by the crew. Guests are also offered floatation devices, including noodles or life jackets. While snorkelling, a crew member will be close by in a tender ready to pick guests up. 6 MAXI SAILING Maxi s are social and fun! Maxi Sailing is great fun and high on adventure. Maxi s are large yachts over 22 metres in length, they are the Formula 1 of Whitsunday Charter Yachts. Being fast means that in only 2 days you will get to see more of the Whitsundays. Plus you ll be happy you are on a Maxi, when by wind power alone (very Eco Friendly), you sail by other yachts like they are standing still! Group sizes of 22 to 29 guests, meet other social like minded adventure travellers... Don t be surprised if there s a bit of a party in the evening. Siska Siska was built in Perth WA, and her impressive career includes winning the Sydney to Hobart Race and circumnavigating the world twice. This performance allows Siska and her guests to experience a lot of the Whitsundays in just 2 days. Siska s interior was custom built for Whitsunday charters and features a large guest lounge and dining area with over 2.3m headroom. Hammer Hammer is a true Australian Yachting Legend. Throughout her racing career Hammer competed in many ocean racing events and is best known for 5 consecutive placings in the Sydney to Hobart. At the end of Hammer s racing career her interior was refurbished with a comfortable saloon area and open plan accommodation. 7 2 DAY 2 Night MAXI SAILING Broomstick Broomstick was built in South Africa to win the Cape Town to Rio Race. From there she went on to compete in many famous events including the Sydney to Hobart. Broomstick finished racing in 2000 and in 2001 was converted for charter tours. Boomerang was built in Italy and was still racing in NZ until Boomerang has deck space galore, large cockpit with grinder winch towers and a roll out shade awning. Day Tour Cancellations: 24 to 72 hour before departure 25% of ticket price, inside 24 hours 100% of ticket price. Accom Cancellations: 7 nights before check-in, cancellation fee of 1 night applies.
