Ref: 1.Environmental Clearance of RG OC-I Expansion Phase-II Coal Mine Project vide MoEF&CC Lr.No. J /534/2007-IA-II (M), dated SCCL Lr. No. CRP/ENV/A/465A/574, dated * * * * SCCL is operating Ramagundam Opencast I (RG OC-I) Expansion Phase-II Coal Mine Project located near Nagepalli Village, Kamanpur Mandal in Karimnagar District of Telangana State, for which MoEF&CC, GoI accorded Environmental Clearance vide letter cited under reference (1) for the peak production capacity of 3.30 MTPA in the ML area of Ha. SCCL is also operating another project named Ramagundam Opencast-II Extension (RG OC-II) Coal Mine Project adjacent to RG OC-I Expansion Phase-II Project with a peak production capacity of 4.50 MTPA. However, the envisaged production could not be achieved in the Ramagundam Opencast-II Extension Project due to delay in Forestland diversion and acquisition of private land and Rehabilitation and Resettlement due to prevailing local situation despite the best efforts put by SCCL. However Ramagundam Opencast- I Expansion Phase-II Project has the potential to produce more than its present capacity by diverting the some of HEMM from RG OC-II Project which is operating at lower level than its EC capacity due to above mentioned reasons. 2 In view of above, it was proposed in August, 2013 to obtain Environmental Clearance for integration of both these projects under the name of RG OC-I & RG OC-II Integrated Project in order to have flexibility in coal production from the individual projects without crossing the cumulative capacity and cumulative Mining Lease area. Accordingly, an application for the EC was submitted to MoEF vides SCCL letter cited under reference (2). In supersession of SCCL earlier request under reference (2) for environmental clearance, now SCCL is proposes to increase the production capacity from 3.30 MTPA to 5.30 MTPA from Ramagundam Opencast-I Expansion Phase- II itself within the same mining lease area of Ha. for extracting the balance coal reserves of MT by removing M.Cum of OB over an estimated life of 9 years, under the name of Ramagundam Opencast-I Expansion Phase-II (RG OC- I Expansion Phase - II Project). It is proposed to withdraw the earlier proposal of RG OC-I & RG OC-II Integrated Project submitted vide SCCL Lr. No. CRP/ENV/A/465A/574, dated The salient features of present proposal as follows: 1.
