5 NVIS Training: Preparation For Tomorrow NVG Inspection/Certification & Repair As the FAA s forerunner in the NVG flight training industry and the only company chosen to train the FAA, ASU is firmly established with flight operations worldwide. Whether you require basic NVG training or advanced training for special operations, our instructor pilots are well qualified to assist you with customized training. All ASU NVG flight instructors have extensive civil and military NVG flight experience, a rarity in the training industry. They ve flown NVGs in nearly every environment on earth, from the arctic to the equator, mountainous to open ocean, desert to jungle, rural farmland to most major U.S. cities (and many international cities), and nearly everything in between. Training is conducted in Boise, Idaho, in a Bell 206 B3. Our course curriculum ranges from night vision to initial private pilot certification. ASU is also a FAR Part 135 Night Vision Goggle Operator and FAR Part 135 NVG Training provider. We use goggles as well as teach about them! ASU received FAR Part 135 NVG Operations approval in September 2002 the first non-ems NVG commercial operator in the U.S. Looking for inspection, repair or routine maintenance? Our NVG Service Department has a full-time, dedicated staff of trained personnel for servicing, repair and maintenance of Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS) and accessories. We re an L-3 and ITT Exelis authorized warranty center and factory trained. We have a history of quality and excellence unsurpassed in the industry. 6 FAA Approved NVIS Modifications ASU is the clear leader in NVIS lighting modifications for NVG flight operations, approaching 700 operational commercial installations and the most Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) in the industry. We pride ourselves on being cost effective and managing short lead times for installations of fully night vision compatible aircraft (rotor-wing and fixed-wing).
