2 Since its inception as the GrummanTadpole, the Lake Amphibian has evolved through numerous improvements in design, including longer wings, a longer, roomier fuselage, and increased engine power. These refinements have resulted in improved handling and greatly increased performance and utility. The current model, the Lake LA-250, is offered in three variants: the Renegade and Turbo Renegade for the civilian market, and a beefed-up version known as the Seawolf for military, law-enforcement, and heavyduty missions.
