4 Toronto City Airport (CYTZ) To start a flight at Toronto City Airport, first go to Location in the top menu bar, and click Select Global Airport. In the airports list, type in CYTZ or Toronto City Airport, and select it from the list. After selecting it, the window will show a list of starting locations, which you can select to choose where you want your plane to start. You can start off from gates at the terminal or general aviation parking spots. By selecting Porter FBO you can start off inside the aircraft hangar. 4

5 Make sure you set the number of objects in the X-Plane setting to above default, or the airport s objects may not appear correctly. The airport also has a water ramp, which can be used to taxi into or out of the water when in a seaplane. The water ramp. Taking off may be bumpy on runway 8. This is due to the terrain in X- Plane. To have a smoother runway, go to Settings on the top menu bar, and click on Rendering Options. In the window that appears, uncheck runways follow terrain contours under the Stuff to draw section. Then you will need to re-start X-Plane for the changes to take effect. 5

6 Hospital heliports Included in this scenery are the three hospital heliports in Toronto. They are located at St. Michael s Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children, and Sunnybrook Medical center. All three of which you can choose from in the X-Plane airports menu. The table below shows the information for all three. 7 Sunnybrook Helipad (CNY8) Night lighting The airport is lit up with lights at nighttime. The lights will only be there if you have HDR rendering selected in the settings. To turn on this on, first go to settings at the top menu bar, and click Rendering Options. On the window that opens, there are several options. Under Special Effects, check the box next to HDR rendering. 7

8 Once it is set, press the X in the top right corner to close it. Then when you fly from the airport at night, it will be illuminated with bright ramp lights. The airport at night 8

9 A.I. Aircraft Toronto City Airport has scheduled passenger flights daily on Dash 8 Q400 aircraft. However, in X-Plane 10, there is large 747s and C-130s for A.I. traffic that try to take off and often fall in the water because the runways are too short. Fortunately, you can change the A.I. Aircraft that will appear at the airport. To do so, first start you flight at Toronto City Airport. Then click on Aircraft on the top menu bar and select Aircraft and Situations. On the window that shows up, click on the Other Aircraft tab at the top. The Other Aircraft page will show a list of the A.I. aircraft that will be at the airport. Click on the checkmark to the left of the unwanted aircraft to change it. The A.I. aircraft menu 9
