FLYING COMES WITH inherent risk, but by following standard FAA safety protocol, employing professional mechanics, and hiring instructors with impeccable safety records, we provide students with a safe flying environment. Due to our outstanding efforts in Safety Management, we have achieved registration through the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). ACCOUNTABILITY: Our Director of Safety oversees our Safety Management System, allowing employees and students to report incidents and ensuring our flight and ground operations are as safe as possible. MAINTENANCE STAFF: Our full-time staff of experienced specialists perform daily safety checks, routine maintenance, and work directly with instructors and students to address specific issues. TRAINING GROUNDS: Our off-airport training airspace is just minutes from the Bend Municipal Airport and within 5 minutes of Class D towered controlled airspace in Redmond, Oregon at Roberts Field Airport. LEVEL 5 SIMULATOR: We operate the first FRASCA Level 5 Simulator in the country. CENTRAL OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE AVIATION PROGRAM Thanks to our unique partnership with Central Oregon Community College (COCC) in Bend, Oregon, we offer students the opportunity to receive an ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN AIVATION DEGREE while completing FAA required flight training. Students learn the essentials of the aviation industry from experienced professionals and graduate with the credentials and confidence necessary to become successful professional pilots. Furthermore, attaining a degree and pilot s ratings through COCC gives students access to EXCELLENT FINANCIAL AID options, making the path toward becoming a pilot affordable to everyone. REQUIRED + ADVANCED COURSES AIRPLANE PILOT PRIVATE PILOT, SINGLE ENGINE The first step in becoming a professional pilot includes 20 hours of dual Instruction in the Cessna 172, 20 hours solo in the same aircraft, 10 hours pre/post flight ground instruction as well as 1 hour of ground instruction through the Jeppesen Online Ground School, and a successful completion of the FAA written exam and FAA check ride. INSTRUMENT Greatly enhance safety for you and your passengers by learning to fly by instruments and flight gauges. Training includes 20 hours of dual instruction in the Cessna 172, 30 hours of solo time in the same aircraft, 10 hours pre/post flight ground training as well as 1 hour of ground instruction through the Jeppesen Online Training school, and the FAA written exam and FAA check ride. PRIVATE PILOT, MULTI ENGINE Learn to manage the complexities and power of a multi-engine aircraft through this add-on course. Through 25 hours of dual instruction in the Baron B55 and 10 hours of ground instruction, you ll be prepared to pass the FAA check ride and oral exam. COMMERCIAL, SINGLE ENGINE The most essential rating for becoming a professional pilot, the commercial course requires 20 hours of dual instruction in the Bonanza F33A, 120 hours of solo time in the Cessna 172, 10 hours of ground instruction as well as 1 hour through Jeppesen, and the successful completion of both an FAA written exam and a FAA check ride. COMMERCIAL, MULTI ENGINE With this rating, you gain the skills necessary to become a Pilot-in- Command for multi-engine aircraft, increasing your professional abilities. With 35 hours of dual instrcution in the Baron B55 and 10 hours of ground instruction, passing the FAA checkride and oral exam will be a breeze. CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR Gain a working knowledge and practical skills for teaching ground and flight lessons. Your training includes 20 hours of dual instruction in the Bonanza F33A, 10 hours of ground instruction, and both a written FAA exam as well as a checkride. CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, INSTRUMENT Teaching instrument flying requires a new set of skills and abilities. You will gain this knowlegde through 10 hours of dual instruction in the Cessna 172, 5 hours of ground instruction and the successfull passing of both a FAA written exam and a checkride. MULTI ENGINE INSTRUCTOR Learn to teach students how to fly and operate a multi-engine aircraft, making way for their professional success. With 10 hours of dual instruction in the Baron B55 and 5 hours of ground instruction, you are on your way to a successful completion of the FAA checkride and oral exam. FIXED WING ADVANCED COURSE INTRODUCTION TO INFLIGHT OXYGEN TRAINING Open to both Single and Multi-Engine Commercial students, this program provides unique flying experience above FAR oxygen limited altitudes -- training up to 16,000 feet. This program not only gives you the knowledge needed to properly use equipment, but also addresses a potentially hazardous physical condition known as hypoxia, and enables you to experience initial effects in a controlled environment where you can safely learn how to proceed. 711

13 HELICOPTER PILOT PRIVATE PILOT ROTORCRAFT HELICOPTER The first step in becoming a professional pilot includes 20 hours of dual Instruction in the R22, 20 hours solo in the R22, 30 hours pre/post flight ground training, and passing the FAA written exam and FAA check ride. ROTOCRAFT INSTRUMENT Greatly enhance safety for you and your passengers by learning to fly by instruments and flight gauges. Training includes 20 hours of dual instruction in the R44, 20 hours of instruction in FRASCA LEVEL 5 FTD Simulator, 30 hours pre/post flight ground training, and the successful completion of the FAA written exam and FAA check ride. COMMERCIAL PILOT ROTORCRAFT HELICOPTER The essential certificate for any future professional pilot requires 20 hours of dual instruction in the R22, 70 hours solo in the R22, 30 hours pre/post flight ground training, passing the FAA written exam and FAA check ride. CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR Learn the practical skills necessary to teach ground and flight lessons. Instructor training includes 10 hours dual instruction in the R22, 20 hours pre/post flight ground training, passing the FAA written exam and FAA check ride. CERTIFIED INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTOR Learn to teach the essentials for instrument flying with 5 hours dual instruction in the R44, 20 hours pre/post flight ground training, passing the FAA written exam and FAA check ride. HELICOPTER ADVANCED COURSES EXTERNAL LOAD OPERATIONS We teach you the skills to handle external load operations, a key capability sought by employers. Our External Load instructors are all experienced line pilots with extensive external load experience, providing you the best and most current training available. MOUNTAIN FLYING Learn the unique aspects of mountain flying, while gaining valuable knowledge and experience in an actual mountain flight environment. TURBINE TRANSITION After training in Robinson piston aircraft, taking the Turbine Transition Course provides you the ability to operate Turbine Aircraft. Many commercial operators are seeking pilots who have Turbine Transition Training time before they are hired. This course teaches you the specific operating parameters of turbine aircraft and gives you advanced skills for your career. NIGHT VISION GOGGLE (NVG) We offer an FAA approved NVG course that helps you prepare for the advanced requirements of today s commercial operators. This course provides our students the chance to gain a comprehensive understanding of NVG flying, giving them a competitive edge when pursuing future career opportunities. 12

FINANCIAL AID EXPLAINED THROUGH LEADING EDGE AVIATION There are a few options for private loans when going through our program directly: PILOT FINANCE / Available for part-time students, Pilot Finance provides loans based on your credit history and debt to income ratio. Unique featues of AOPA financing include the ability to borrow up to $100,000 over a 24 to 84 month period with no money down, no loan minimum, and minimal paperwork. Private lenders may be able to give a potential borrower enough to complete the entire program. THROUGH CENTRAL OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE When you study through COCC, you could be eligible for federal student loans and a number of other financial aid opportunities. Once enrolled in COCC, you are able to apply for federal funding, although there may be other options better suited to your needs: FEDERAL FUNDING / Federal funding, scholarships, and grants are available based on need.
