1 Australian Aerobatic Club Vic Chapter 2016 VICTORIAN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP and Notice of AAC National Annual General Meeting (AGM) Notice of AAC Vic Chapter Annual General Meeting (AGM) and The inaugural AAC Vic Chapter Loud Shirt Competition The Australian Aerobatic Club Victorian Chapter welcomes and invites all AAC members, their family and friends to the 2016 Victorian State Aerobatic Championships being held at Tocumwal on March 9 th through 12 th, 2016 and to both the AAC National Annual General Meeting and AAC Victorian Annual General Meeting being held at Tocumwal on Saturday March 12 th after competition. The loud shirt competition prize will be awarded at the close of the AAC National AGM This document is organised into two separate parts. Contest Info (pages 3-10): Please read this section thoroughly. Note that we are happy to assist anyone with answers to questions anytime. 2 How to complete the Competition Entry requirements: We have designed this document to be easy to complete. Do it now. Don t wait. Step 1) Step 2) Step 3) Step 5) Open this document and read through the Contest Information pages. If you are a competitor, then complete the Entry Form questions. Please also complete the Volunteer and Group Information section. If you are a competitor then be sure to complete the signature fields for both yourself and the aircraft owner to sign confirming your agreement to the contest conditions. If you have a Free/ Free Known Program (forms A, B and C) then you should convert it into a PDF and upload it as requested below. Be sure to include a copy that has been signed off by an AAC JUDGE. 3 1. General and Venue The 2016 Victorian State Aerobatic Championships (2016 VicChamps) will be held at Tocumwal Airfield (YTOC) Wednesday 9 th March to Saturday 12 th March 2016 inclusive. The Airfield is available for unofficial practise from Monday 7 th. Pilots practising at Tocumwal prior to 1800 Tuesday 8 th March 2016 for the first time should seek a briefing from a club member who is familiar with the current procedures of the day and has flown in the box VicChamps will be conducted under the 2016 AAC Regulations Competition for the CIVA categories include a Free Known flight. A checklist for designing a legal Free Known is available at document-store Three Free Unknowns will also be conducted for the CIVA categories. A Third Sportsman flight (Unknown) and a Third Graduate flight (Unknown) will be included in the programme. These flights will count to the overall results. To comply with the Berrigan Shire Noise Management requirements, there will be no aerobatic practise prior to Monday 6 th March unless prior permission is obtained from Berrigan Shire. See: 2. Contest Entry and Entry Fee payment details All current financial members of the Australian Aerobatic Club are eligible to compete. A reminder that Unlimited, Advanced and Intermediate pilots must have completed and passed the current Judges Home Study Course within the last 12 months and be prepared to judge at the competition. 6 for CIVA category Pilots only (Unlimited, Advanced and Intermediate (CIVA) will be held. Unknown 1, 2 and 3 figure selection sessions to be conducted as per 2016 AAC Regulations The First Official Competition Briefing for all categories briefing will be held at 0800 hours Wednesday 9 th March 2016 and is mandatory for all competitors, judges and officials unless a dispensation is obtained from the Contest Jury. Subsequent Official Competition briefings will be held each contest day at 0800 hours or as advised the previous evening. These are mandatory for ALL competitors and officials. Competitors who arrive late will be penalised as per 2016 AAC Regulations. The AAC Vic has implemented a Fly-Neighbourly Plan for Tocumwal Airport in conjunction in support of and as a requirement of the Berrigan Shire Council s Tocumwal Airport Management Plan. It is a condition of the competition and prior practise that this Airport Management Plan is closely adhered to. Flagrant breaches of the Fly Neighbourly Plan may result in loss of airport access privileges for aerobatic operations. See the attached Australian Aerobatic Club Tocumwal Fly Neighbourly plan (FNP). 6. Contest Rules The contest will be conducted according to the 2016 AAC Regulations. Please note the following: o o o There will be no Line Judges. A Contest Deadline may apply to Intermediate (AUS & CIVA), Advanced and Unlimited flights (other flights have their lower level limits established above 1500 ). The deadline will be monitored for all flights see attached FNP. The AAC Vic requires that pilots comply with the AAC Vic Fly-Neighbourly Plan (FNP) for Tocumwal Airport. Flagrant breaches of the FNP may result in disqualification and loss of airport access for aerobatic operations at the Competition Director s sole discretion. 7. Supplementary Rules 8.1 Any Supplementary Rules will be advised at Official Briefing. 8. Bad Weather/Schedule Interruption All Options will be considered by the Contest Jury if required Sunday 13 th of March will be a flying day for any categories that have not yet completed two competition flights. 9. Fuel and Oil Credit Card (V, MC) and Aero Refuellers carnet card The Airfield has a fuel bowser that accepts a carnet card issued by Aero Refuellers VISA and Mastercard are also accepted. Aircraft operators are advised to bring sufficient oil to meet their needs. It may be possible to purchase oil through the Murray Border (MB) Aero Club. 10. Hangarage and LAME AAC-Vic 2016 Victorian Championship Contest Information P a g e 6

7 Hangarage is available in Lee Gordon-Brown s hangar located at the south western edge of the 09/27 runway (thanks Lee!). A LAME is based at Tocumwal and at Yarrawonga (50 km away). 11. Accommodation and mini-bus transport It is each participant s responsibility to book their own accommodation. The AAC-Vic has organised a mini-bus to ferry people between the accommodation venues and the airport, and around town. The Vic club members frequent the All Seasons Holiday Lodges at Tocumwal. We have reserved a large number of rooms in the name of the AAC-Vic. Nice and clean, 3 ½ stars with a swimming pool and only 1.5 Km from Tocumwal Aerodrome. Close enough to walk to the airport if you miss the bus but enough time to work out an excuse for being late to the briefing. Now is the time to make your booking so you don t miss out. First in best dressed! Contact the All Seasons Holiday Lodges on The Bakery Park Motel is also recommended. Please call the Tocumwal Tourist Information centre on or visit Meals and other stuff It would really help to know the numbers of people attending so we can organise catering with the Murray Border (MB) Aero Club - our hosts at Tocumwal o Lunch and refreshments will be available through the Murray Border Aero Club (MB) at the club house each competition day. If you are in town between prior to the competition start then Kelly s Pub, located on the road leading to the Airport, has outstanding meals and is just a two blocks walk from the All Seasons Lodge. The Murray Border area is a very attractive tourist destination in its own right. There are lots of things-to-do for non-flyers. The AAC makes no guarantee that any contestant or visiting pilot or crew will receive complimentary or reduced rates on gas, oil, service, meals, hotel etc. purchased at the Contest venue or any stop on route to, during or returning from the AAC Contest and assumes no responsibility for any of the above expenses. 12. The AAC reserves the right to alter both the venue and date of the Contest at any time without prior notice.
