2 Day 01: Nairobi - Hotel (Nairobi Serena Hotel) (B) On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be met by your Representative and after the immigration formalities you will be assisted to board your vehicle and drive to your city hotel for check in and overnight Dinner on own arrangement Day 02: Nairobi - Aberdare (The Ark Lodge) (B, L, D) After breakfast, depart for Aberdare National Park through Nyeri Town to arrive for late lunch at Aberdare Country Club the Serving base for The Ark Afternoon transfer to The Ark in a lodge vehicle for your evening game viewing form your balcony Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, this unique game lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of wildlife: elephant; rhino; leopard; bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo or giant forest hog. Resembling, and named after Noah's Ark, the Ark comprises three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. A ground level bunker provides excellent photographic opportunities and takes you closer than you would believe possible to the animals. Day 03: Aberdare Ol Pajeta (Sweetwaters Tented Camp) (B, L, D) After breakfast drive transfer to your base hotel collect your stored luggage, rejoin with your driver guide and drive to OlPajeta via Nanyuki where you will have a chance for demonstration of Equator crossing before driving further North and to Sweetwaters Tented Camp for lunch. This beautiful tented camp lies in the heart of the private, 24,000-acre, Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Built in the early 70's, the main building was originally the residence of billionaire Adnan Kashoggi's ranch manager. The 30 luxuriously appointed en-suite tents have magnificent views across the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya. Located in typical savannah grasslands, punctuated by the 'whistling thorn' shrubs and acacia trees, Sweetwaters really is an oasis. It offers guests the indulgence of a swimming pool, some of the finest tented accommodation in Kenya and personalised service and attention. At Sweetwaters there is plenty to see. Giraffe, zebra, eland, Oryx, waterbuck, Grant's gazelle, Thompson's gazelle, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, lion, silver-backed jackals, ostrich, hartebeest, baboon and rhino. There are also several hundred-bird species to be observed. A resident naturalist will help you with your identification. The private game reserve is also home to the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya. Most of the chimps came from the Jane Goodall Institute in Burundi and the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary now cares for them and is a non-profit making venture. Most of the chimps were rescued from the most appalling conditions and it is truly heart-warming to see them. Day 04: Ol Pajeta Lake Nakuru (Sarova Lion Hill Lodge) (B, L, D) Early morning game drive, return to your camp for breakfast to depart thereafter after for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at Sarova Lion Hill for lunch. Afternoon game drive to return to your lodge for dinner and overnight 2

3 Day 5: Lake Nakuru Masai Mara Reserve (Mara Serena Lodge) (B, L, D) Leaving Lake Nakuru after breakfast, continue up the floor of Rift to arrive at the Masai Mara Serena Lodge in time for lunch and spend the afternoon game-viewing across the rolling savannah plains of the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Return in time to take a swim in the luxury pool before dinner and overnight. Day 6: Masai Mara (Mara Serena Lodge) (B, L, D) Full day safari in one of the world's most famous reserves. Offering an abundance of herbivores, the Mara makes the ideal hunting ground for Kenya's famous big cats' and hosts her largest population of lions. Historically teeming with wildlife, the Mara is famous for the large herds of elephant and buffalo that wander its plains, and for the annual migration of the wildebeest (seasonal). Spend the night in Mara Sopa Lodge. Day 07: Masai Mara to Lake Victoria (Speke Bay Lodge) (B, L, D) With Picnic lunches you will have early breakfast with drop off at Isebania border where you will go through immigration formalities, exchange vehicles and proceed to Tanzania safari with a visit to Lake Victoria - the source of River Nile. Proceed on to Speke Bay, only two hours away from the border & situated on the shores of this famous Lake. Afternoon at leisure optional activities on request at small fee Day 08: Lake Victoria Serengeti National Park (Serengeti Serena Lodge) (B, L, D) Breakfast at the lodge then depart to Serengeti National park. Arrive in time for check in & lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Day 09: Serengeti National Park (Serengeti Serena Lodge) (B, L, D) Full day in Serengeti with both morning and afternoon game drives returning to the lodge for meals and overnight. Serengeti is Africa's largest national park and also one of its most popular. The park has an incredible number of animals, wildebeest being the most populous followed by zebra. Elephants are notably scarce. Cheetahs and the rest of the big cats are regularly sighted in the plains. The few remaining endangered black rhinos are restricted to the Moru Koppies area. Day 10: Serengeti - Ngorongoro N. Park (Ngorongoro Serena Lodge) (B, L, D) Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey s renowned Archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man s earliest known ancestral remain, Lunch at your lodge Your evening at leisure as you enjoy romantic sundowners or twilight dinners on your veranda with the astonishing landscape views of the dense forest. Watch wildlife, like elephants, roaming through the forest, hear the lions roar and listen to the magical sounds of the tropical night. It will be an experience you will never forget. 3

4 Day 11: Ngorongoro N. Park Lake Manyara National Park (Lake Manyara Lodge) (B, L, D) After breakfast with picnic lunches, descend to your Crater Tour The Ngorongoro Crater and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area are without a doubt some of the most beautiful parts of Tanzania, steeped in history and teeming with wildlife. Besides vehicle safaris to Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, and surrounding attractions, hiking treks through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area are becoming increasingly popular options. Either way you choose to visit, the Crater Highlands are an unforgettable part of the Tanzanian experience. 5 On every safari to Southern Africa, it is essential to know what to pack and that you pack the correct gear to avoid any mishaps while on tour. Below is a guideline to some of the basic requirements. Please remember to NOT pack your gear into hard cover suitcases as this is difficult to carry around and could get damaged. It s also very important to limit your luggage to the below weight limits. Please contact Adventour consultants should there be any queries. African Safari Insurance (Compulsory) All travellers booking a safari to Southern Africa must have adequate medical insurance. This is compulsory as activity providers on safari may refuse participation of activities without proper insurance in place. Should you not have medical insurance you may be required to pay cash before being airlifted should this become necessary. Health Please note that we need to be informed of any pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes or asthma or any other condition that requires prescription medicine. Please note that Adventour or any of its travel partners will not be held liable or responsible for damage or loss to such medication and the safe-keeping of such medication must be looked after by its respective user. 5

6 Diet Requirements For Adventour and its travel partners to properly cater whilst on tour, it is important to inform us at the point of booking should there be any special dietary requirement. Visas As visa requirements vary considerably from country to country and nationality to nationality, please contact the various embassies or a visa service agent in your home country to re-check your visa requirements at least 4 weeks prior to travelling. Please note that visas are the responsibility of the traveller and that Adventour or its partners will not be held responsible for guests being denied entry should they not be in the possession of the relevant visas. PLEASE NOTE: Should the adventure tour you are joining be re-entering a country, be sure to have a multiple entry visa that enables you to re-enter the country. All travellers must be in possession of a valid onward/return air ticket or proof of other means of transport enabling the traveller to leave the country in which your adventure tour passes or terminates. You should also have proof of sufficient funds (e.g. credit card) to see you through your time in the country. 6
