Should you wish more time to explore Jakarta on your own, we do recommend booking a pre-night. Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting 1h The adventure begins tonight. Feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you're back in time to meet the group. After introductions, your CEO will review the details of your tour. Please note that normal check-in times apply at our start hotels, but you can usually store your luggage for the day if you arrive early. Accommodation Artotel Thamrin Jakarta (or similar) Hotel Day 2 Jakarta/Bogor Enjoy a guided city tour of Jakarta including the old city, Fathaillah Square, and the harbour. In the afternoon, depart for Bogor, with its stunning volcanic backdrop of imposing Mt Salak.

2 This is a fast paced tour covering a lot of ground using a variety of different modes of transportation and sometimes departure times can be delayed and roads a bit rough. We ask that you have a bit of patience and understanding that this is the nature of this type of travel. There also is a lot of walking and temperatures can be quite hot and humid, so bring a good pair of walking/hiking shoes and be sure to hydrate. Jakarta City Tour Jakarta Tour Bandung and see the former Batavia area, where Jakarta began before it grew to its current size. Visit the Sunda Kelapa Harbour -- once the main port of the Sunda Kingdom, it's now a bustling port full of Makassar schooners. Jakarta - Bogor4h-5h Accommodation The 101 Bogor Suryakancana (or similar) Hotel Day 3 Bogor Visit the Botanical Garden in Bogor, a world famous institution for research and conservation that is home to 13,983 different kinds of trees and plants. With a local guide, tour the gardens and the Zoological museum before continuing on to a gong factory to see how these unique instruments are made by local blacksmiths. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. Bogor Botanic Gardens Bogor Enjoy a tour of The Bogor Botanic Garden, Indonesia's foremost botanical garden, showcasing 87 hectares (210 acres) of beautifully kept trees, ponds, flowers and sweeping lawns. The centre is also a world famous institution for research, conservation and cultivation of tropical plants. Also, stop by the onsite Zoological Museum. Gong Factory Visit Bogor Visit a traditional gong factory which suppliers the instruments to mosques (large models) and orchestras (being the central element of gamelan which is a typical Indonesian orchestra). Watch local craftsmen, creating these pieces by hand using knowledge passed down generation after generation. Accommodation The 101 Bogor Suryakancana (or similar) Hotel Day 4 Bogor/Bandung Drive to Bandung and explore the city known as the "Paris of Indonesia," visiting a traditional puppet "wayang golek" maker along the way. Later, enjoy the angklung orchestra -- with resonating melodies at this traditional bamboo instrument concert. Bogor - Bandung2h-2h30m Angklung Orchestra Performance Bandung Opt to go to the angklung orchestra -- a unique musical treat. Be moved by beautiful melodies at this traditional bamboo instrument concert performed by children.

3 Day 5 Bandung/Magelang A full day of travel by private vehicle and train allows the opportunity to enjoy the stunning landscapes of Java. Arrive in Magelang in the evening. This is a long travel day, so wear comfortable clothes and have your book/e-reader ready. That said the scenery is stunning so sit back and enjoy the views. Train Bandung - Kutoarjo6h-7h Climb aboard, take a seat, and enjoy the ride. Kutoarjo - Magelang1h30m Day 6 Magelang/ Rise before dawn to visit the Buddhist Temple complex of Borobudur and enjoy the sunrise, then tour the stunning ruins. After, continue on to the Village of Candirejo. Along the way, enjoy a peek into the daily life and activities such as making cassava crackers, rotating seasonal crops, and harvesting. Stop in at one of the houses to meet some locals and enjoy a drink and snack. Continue on to for the evening. This is an early start day to best take advantage of the stunning sunrise. Borobudur Temple Complex Excursion Borobudur Take in the stunning artistic and architectural marvel that is the Buddhist Temple complex of Borobudur, a not-to-be-missed World Heritage Site. Learn about its interesting history and restoration; the site lay undiscovered under layers of volcanic ash until 1815, when Sir Stamford Raffles, then Governor of Java, ordered the area to be cleared. Candirejo Village Visit Candirejo Visit Candirejo, a captivating village sitting among vibrant green fields and rainforests. Meet friendly residents, and learn all about ancient traditions and Javanese culture. Take home the perfect souvenir -- homemade handicrafts and furniture can be found here, including wonderful pieces made of bamboo. Magelang - 1h-2h Day 7 Explore Prambanan, the largest Hindu temple complex in Java, and learn about the history of the temples. Marvel at what is considered some of the most stunning Hindu works of art in Asia. Return to and enjoy the evening at leisure. Prambanan Hindu Temple Complex Excursion Tour Prambanan, the largest Hindu temple complex in Java, and learn about the history of the temples. Built between the eighth and tenth centuries, these temples now stand as one of the most outstanding works of Hindu art. View their intricate design, particularly on the Shiva temple. Day 8

4 This morning, learn about Batik, a traditional textile originating from the island of Java. Delve into the history and tradition of this art form and the Javanese philosophy behind some of the patterns, then partake in a hands-on workshop led by a local artist. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. Opt to hop on a cycle-rickshaw and explore, visit Kraton Palace, or wander the markets and shops around the city. is very walkable, so a stroll around the fascinating bird market is always interesting. If silver is of interest to you, then a trip to Kota Gede to pick up a hand-beaten bowl or some fine filigree is definitely worthwhile. As the home of arts, this really is the place to take in a Wayang (puppet) show or a dance performance, usually based on the Ramayana story. Ramayana Dance Performance Opt to see a Ramayana Dance performance, an Indonesian ballet that is a beautiful form of kinetic storytelling that incorporates acrobatics. Bicycle Rickshaw Tour Take in the wonderful sights of Yogya from a leisurely bicycle rickshaw ride, including the Sultan's Palace and markets. Taman Sari Water Castle Visit Enjoy a visit to this castle built in the 18th century as a pleasure park for the Sultan. Check out the intricately carved gates and the bathing complex and tower, from where the Sultan would watch his concubines frolicking in the water. Kraton Palace Visit Take in the royal splendour of this impressive 18th century palace, built by the Sultans of Yogya. Kraton is one of the finest examples of Javanese palace architecture and is essentially a walled city -- it has its own market, schools, and even mosques. Day 9 /Malang Continue the journey by train across the green agricultural heartland of Java to Malang. This is a long travel day, so wear comfortable clothes and have your book/e-reader ready. 5 Hotel Day 10 Malang/Bromo Visit Ngadas, a village in the scenic Mt Bromo region. Experience the local culture in this G Adventures-supported community with a village walk and local lunch. After, visit the volcanology office of Mt Bromo and meet with one of their experts who will explain how they monitor the volcano and discuss the 2010 eruption. Malang - Bromo2h Your Journeys Highlight Moment: Volcanology Talk at Mt Bromo Visit the volcanology office at Mt Bromo, one of the most iconic volcanoes in Indonesia. Here you'll meet the experts who study and monitor this active wonder. They'll discuss the 2010 eruption. Your G for Good Moment: Ngadas Village walk & lunch Nestled amongst the green hills of the Mt Bromo region, the village of Ngadas is home to a Tengger farming community. Enjoy a village walk and local lunch at this G Adventures-supported initiative. Take in views of the scenic hills as you walk along, passing farming areas and stopping to visit the local temple, vihara, and mosque. Learn about the local culture, customs, and traditions from your hosts. Lunch Day 11 Bromo/ Rise early to take a scenic excursion to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park by 4x4 to catch the sunrise. We then ascend to the top of Mt Bromo, part of the Tengger Caldera, the largest volcanic range in the area. After, drive to Surabaya and catch our flight to beautiful Bali. This is an early start day (approximately 2:30am) to watch the sunrise over the crater's rim. This is a popular view with both visitors and the local Buddhist Tenggerese, who can be seen giving offerings of food to receive blessings from the Supreme God Hyang Widi Wasa. Mount Bromo Jeep Excursion Gunung Bromo9h Full Day Jump in a jeep and explore the winding landscape of Eastern Java, climbing upwards and outwards towards the grandeur of Mt Bromo to witness a stunning sunrise. Hike to the peak of Mt Bromo, part of the Tengger Calder, the largest volcanic range in the area. A distinct site, the volcano blew its top off completely and is constantly smouldering with white smoke. Bromo2h Plane Bromo - 1h Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's... yup, it is a plane, actually. Day 12 Enjoy a cooking class with a local chef who will accompany us to the morning markets and a visit to a rice field, helping us learn about the staples of Balinese cooking. We will later gather at our chef's home, where we'll learn how to make a traditional offering, followed by a lively cooking class and lunch. We can enjoy our afternoon at leisure. Free time today allows us to opt to enjoy a display of traditional Kecak dance or maybe roam the Gianyar night market for some local cuisine. Other options include strolling through the rice fields, devouring delicious organic foods, or white water rafting. Your Journeys Highlight Moment: Balinese Home Cooking Meet our local chef who accompanies us to the traditional morning markets, introducing you to the tropical fruits, vegetables and spices used in Balinese cooking. Continue on to a rice field to learn about this staple food in Bali. After, arrive at our chef's home where we learn how to make a traditional offering before heading onto a lively cooking class to learn the basics of regional cooking. Finally, sit down to enjoy our efforts for lunch. Free Time

Just outside of, opt to visit the Bali Zoo, the Bird Park, or the Elephant Park to get a taste of the wildlife of Southeast Asia. Optional Activities - Day 12 Whitewater Rafting Experience the thrill of the rapids. Enjoy an amazing ride, but don't forget to paddle! Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting wet. Gianyar Night Market Tour the Gianyar night market for some local cuisine. Enjoy amazing food (including savoury soups, satay and sweets) and take in Balinese culture. Kecak Dance Performance 20USD per person Enjoy a display of traditional Kecak dance (aka Ramayana Monkey Chant), depicting a battle from the Ramayana. Lunch Day 13 Enjoy a full day at leisure to relax or consider the many optional activities. Opt to explore the stunning UNESCO-protected Jatiluwih Rice Terraces by electric cycle or visit the Monkey Forest, numerous temples, and markets. In the evening, opt to take in a traditional Kecak dance performance. Your Discover Moment Full Day There's plenty to see and do in, and we wanted to make sure that you had some time to take it all in. Feel free to relax or try optional activities like attending a yoga class, learning about Balinese cuisine with a cooking class, and indulging in a traditional massage. 7 Jatiluwihkawan - Kintamani Follow your CEO down narrow paths as you explore the UNESCO-protected Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. Stop to enjoy the view as you trek around the area and, hopefully, spot some buffalo. Day 14 /Sanur Explore the spiritual side of Bali, following mountain roads through the jungle to visit Tirta Empul Temple and its bubbling springs believed to hold curative powers. Continue to Gunung Kawi, a Hindu temple complex surrounded by terraced rice fields then make your way to Kintamani, perched 1500m (4921 ft) above sea level on the edge of a crater overlooking Lake Batur, with active Mt Batur towering above. Also enjoy lunch at the G Adventures supported-bali Community Training Lunch Program. This evening, opt to join your CEO for a farewell dinner at Pecatu Hill, overlooking the lights of Kuta and the largest Vishnu Statue in the world. - Sanur30m Tirta Empul Temple Visit Take in the beauty of this Hindu temple, built in 962 and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. Be sure to check out the shrines carved into the cliff -- they stand at an impressive 7m (23ft). This initiative supports and assists people living with disabilities in Bali to find independence and meaningful employment through training in the hospitality sector. In Hindu-Bali, it is a societal belief that being born with a disability is a product of "bad karma". Our ground partners are working in the community to break down these stereotypes, and provide resources, training, and education to adults living with disabilities to gain independence and confidence, and find employment within their community. Fully managed and operated by individuals living with disabilities, enjoy a delicious traditional Balinese buffet lunch prepared by the organization while learning more about this initiative that empowers individuals through skills and employment training. All proceeds from this included lunch support the organization's training, education, advocacy and outreach programs, as well as resources such as wheelchairs and three-wheeled mopeds. Itinerary Disclaimer While it is our intention to adhere to the route described below, there is a certain amount of flexibility built into the itinerary and on occasion it may be necessary, or desirable to make alterations. The itinerary is brief, as we never know exactly where our journey will take us. Due to our style of travel and the regions we visit, travel can be unpredictable. Important Notes RAMADAN According to the lunar cycle, Ramadan will fall between May 5th and June 4th, Please note that Ramadan is a month of fasting observed by Muslims throughout the world, during which time the followers of Islam should not eat or drink between sunrise and sunset. There may be some limitations to services and disruptions to schedules during Ramadan, but generally our tours still operate effectively during this period and food is available to non-muslims throughout the day. It is very important to display increased cultural sensitivity during Ramadan. Please wear loose fitting clothes, that cover knees and shoulders, and try to avoid eating, drinking or smoking in public out of respect for those who can't at that time. Group Leader Description All G Adventures group trips are accompanied by one of our Chief Experience Officers (CEO). The aim of the CEO is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. They will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the countries visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. We also use local guides where we think more specific knowledge will add to the enjoyment of the places we are visiting- we think it's the best of both worlds. Group Size Notes Max 16, Avg 12. Meals Included 14 breakfasts, 3 lunches Meals Eating is a big part of traveling. Travelling with G Adventures you experience the vast array of wonderful food that is available out in the world. Generally meals are not included in the trip price when there is a choice of eating options, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat. It also gives you more budgeting flexibility, though generally food is cheap. Our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your CEO will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip. Included breakfasts will

9 usually be asian style consisting of noodles or congee (rice porridge) or bread and eggs. Vegetarians will be able to find a range of different foods, although in some areas the choice maybe limited. While trekking in remote regions food is included, plentiful and made of fresh local ingredients. For all trips please refer to the meals included and budget information for included meals and meal budgets. Indonesian cooking contains fermented shrimp paste (terasi) as a basic ingredient. Although there are many vegetarian options available, please be specific when ordering food, as often a little chicken is included with most dishes. Transport Private vehicle, cycle-rickshaw, plane, train, walking, cycling. Local Flights All local flights are included in the cost of your tour unless otherwise noted. It is important that we have your passport information at the time of booking in order to process these tickets. Internal flight tickets are issued locally and will be given to you prior to the flight departure. Solo Travellers We believe solo travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and solo travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price. Accommodation Hotels (14 nts). My Own Room Please note that if you have booked the "My Own Room" option for this tour, you will receive your own single room for all night stops Joining Hotel For details of your joining hotel please refer to your tour voucher, G Account, the G Adventures App or contact your travel agent. Joining Instructions An arrival transfer is included when you arrive on Day 1, or if you arrive up to three days prior provided that you have booked your pre-accommodation through National Geographic Journeys in our joining hotel. Due to customer experience and quality considerations, all services related to the tour must be continuous. Our driver will be waiting for you with a National Geographic Journeys sign with your name on it, and they will be waiting for you outside the luggage hall. There most likely will be many signs, so please check carefully for your name. Please note that Day 1 is an arrival day and no activities have been planned, so you may arrive at any time. Similarly the last day is a departure day in which no activities are planned. Your CEO will contact you at the hotel on Day 1 and make sure you are settled comfortably. If you arrive late, they will leave you a message detailing what time and where you should meet the next morning. Your CEO will organize a short meeting soon after arrival, during which you will meet other tour participants and receive information about general and specific aspects of the trip. Arrival Complications We don't expect any problems, and nor should you, but if for any reason you are unable to commence your trip as scheduled, please refer to the emergency contact details provided in this dossier and contact us as soon as possible. If you have a pre-booked transfer, and you have not made contact with our representative within 30 minutes of clearing customs and immigration, we recommend that you make your own way to the Starting Point hotel, following the Joining Instructions. Please apply to your travel agent on your return for a refund of the transfer cost if this occurs. Emergency Contact Should you need to contact us during a situation of dire need, it is best to first call either the G Adventures Local Representative (if one is listed below) or our G Adventures Local Office. If for any reason you do not receive an immediate answer, please leave a detailed message and contact information, so they may return your call and assist you as soon as possible. AIRPORT TRANSFER If you have purchased an arrival through G Adventures or if an arrival transfer is included in the cost of your tour, please note that: Your arrival transfer has been arranged based on flight information provided to us. If you are advised of a flight schedule change within 48 hours of your scheduled arrival time, we will do our best to rearrange your arrival transfer however we cannot guarantee this. If your arrival transfer does not arrive within 30 minutes after you have exited the arrivals area please take a taxi to your start point hotel.

As a rule we try not to have to walk more than minutes with your bags which is why we recommend keeping the weight of your bags between 10-15kg/22-30lb. Most travellers carry a backpack or rolling bag of small to medium size (no XXL ones please!). You will also need a day pack/bag to carry water, cameras and other electronics like ipods and mobile phones. Visas and Entry Requirements Indonesia now offers e-visa services to select nationals. Please check with your local consulate to see if the Indonesia e-visa process is valid per your nationality. ***Please note that we always recommend all nationalities to check with their embassy about entry requirements to Indonesia. The situation with visas in Indonesia is changing frequently, and the below information is accurate as of June 19th, A 30-day free visa is available at some arrival locations in Indonesia for many nationalities. This visa is non-extendable. This free visa is available at: Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta Airport), Bali (Ngurah Rai Aiport), Medan (Kualanamu Airport), Surabaya (Juanda Airport) and Batam (Hang Nadim International Airport). All travelers to Indonesia must be in possession of passport valid for at least six months from date of arrival and have proof (tickets) of onward or return passage. Spending Money Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please also remember the following specific recommendations when planning your trip. Money Exchange During this tour the local currency you will use is the Indonesian Rupiah. As currency exchange rates in South East Asia do fluctuate, we ask that you refer to the following website for the most up to date daily exchange rates: for each of the above mentioned currencies. The best way to carry your money is in debit cards, withdrawing cash in local currencies from ATM machines. ATMs are found throughout South East Asia and will generally accept cards on the Visa and Mastercard networks. It is a great idea to travel with both a Visa and Mastercard if at all possible in case of loss or problems with one card, you will have a back up. Please note, your bank will charge a fee for overseas withdrawals. USD Cash is recommended for times when ATMs are not accessible. You should bring some cash with you for emergency situations (please refer to our trip dossier) but carrying only cash is a high safety risk. ATM card/s and some cash is the ideal mix. Travellers cheques can be tricky, timely and expensive to exchange. While we do not recommend that you bring them as your primary source of funds, it is great to have one or two cheques in case of emergency. Thomas Cook or American Express travellers' cheques in US currency are the easiest to exchange. Cash advances can also be made with some banks but are time consuming and tend to have high fees attached.credit cards can be used at some upmarket restaurants, and at some larger stores if shopping for big items. If you are bringing US Dollars, please make sure that the notes are new and in good condition. Notes older than 2003, or with any tears or blemishes may not be accepted. Be fussy with your bank when buying cash! Emergency Fund

12 Please also make sure you have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund, to be used when circumstances outside our control (ex. a natural disaster) require a change to our planned route. This is a rare occurrence! Tipping It is customary in Asia to tip service providers such as waiters, at approximately 10%, depending on the service. Tipping is expected - though not compulsory - and shows an expression of satisfaction with the people who have assisted you on your tour. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. There are several times during the trip where there is opportunity to tip the local guides or drivers we use. You may do this individually, or your CEO will offer to collect the money and tip as a group. Recommendations for tipping drivers and local guides would range from $1-$2 USD per person per day depending on the quality and length of the service; ask your CEO for specific recommendations based on the circumstances and culture. Also at the end of each trip if you felt your G Adventures CEO did an outstanding job, tipping is appreciated. The amount is entirely a personal preference, however as a guideline $20-25 USD per person, per week can be used. Leave your valuable jewelery at home - you won't need it while travelling. Many of the hotels we use have safety deposit boxes, which is the most secure way of storing your valuables. A lock is recommended for securing your luggage. When travelling on a group trip, please note that your group leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the trip itinerary if it deemed necessary, due to safety concerns. Your Chief Experience Officer (CEO) will accompany you on all included activities. During your trip you will have some free time to pursue your own interests, relax and take it easy and explore at your leisure. While your CEO will assist you with options available in a given location, please note that any optional activities you undertake are not part of your itinerary, and we offer no representations about the safety of the activity or the standard of the operators running them. Please use your own good judgement when selecting an activity in your free time. Although the cities visited on tour are generally safe during the day, there can be risks to wandering throughout any major city at night. It is our recommendation to stay in small groups and to take taxis to and from restaurants, or during night time excursions. Water based activities have an element of danger and excitement built into them. We recommend only participating in water based activities when accompanied by a guide(s). We make every reasonable effort to ensure the fun and adventurous element of any water based activities (in countries with varying degrees of operating standards), have a balanced approach to safety. It is our policy not to allow our CEOs to make arrangements on your behalf for water based activities that are not accompanied by guide(s). Swimming, including snorkeling, is always at your own risk. Possessing or using drugs not only contravenes the laws of the land but also puts the rest of the group at risk. Smoking marijuana and opium is a part of local culture in some parts of the world but is not acceptable for our travellers. Our philosophy of travel is one of respect towards everyone we encounter, and in particular the local people who make the world the special place it is. The exploitation of prostitutes is completely contrary to this philosophy. Our group leader has the right to expel any member of the group if drugs are found in their possession or if they use prostitutes. Travel Insurance Travel insurance is compulsory in order to participate on any of our trips. When travelling on a group trip, you will not be permitted to join the group until evidence of travel insurance has been sighted by your leader, who will take note of your insurance details. When selecting a travel insurance policy we require that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation. A minimum coverage of USD200,000 is required. G Adventures can provide you with the appropriate coverage. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. Some tours include adventure activities that require extra coverage (e.g. crampon use); please review your itinerary and make sure that you are covered for all included activities. If you have credit card insurance we require proof of purchase of the trip (a receipt of credit card statement) with a credit card in your name. Contact your bank for details of their participating insurer, the level of coverage and emergency contact telephone number. Local Dress When packing be aware that dress standards are conservative throughout Asia. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means covering shoulders and no short shorts. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate. Shorts should be knee-length. Singlets and tank tops are not acceptable. One piece bathing suits are recommended and topless sun bathing is unacceptable. Feedback After your travels, we want to hear from you!
