Return the same way. Great views of Table Bay. SILVERMINE- CHAPMAN'S PEAK FROM CP DRIVE A steep hike straight up the p of Chapman's Peak from the drive. On a clear day you can see forever! The trip includes a hike the p of Mont-aux-sources from Witsieshoek. Hikes will range from moderate difficult and from 5 19 km. Alternative options might be available for the strenuous, long hikes. A moderate fit level of fitness will be required, depending on the hike. Access Mont-aux-sources will be via the chain ladders. OUDESCHIP VIA SANDY BAY From Sunset Rocks at Llandudno, hike Oudeschip via Sandy Bay and return via Rocket House and dunes Sandy Bay and Sunset Rocks. SILVERMINE- SILVERMINE RIVER & BOKKOP Walk from at the entrance Silvermine up the Silvermine River the reservoir, then around the reservoir and along the Noordhoek Peak road, branching off the east on a path that goes past Bokkop before turning north return the.bring Wild Card and ID or R51 entrance fee. FERNKLOOF- AASVOEL PEAK This hike is in Fernkloof Reserve in Hermanus. A circular hike the p of Aasvoel Peak (749m) via Galpin's hut. Lovely fynbos and views north the Hemel-en-Aarde valley and south over Walker Bay. Bring binoculars for whale spotting. Ascend via a short rock scramble Belle Ombre peak (725 m) and continue over rock ridges past Camel Rock De Villiers Dam. Return via Clayn's Road and the Hoerikwaggo Trail Constantia Nek. TABLE MNT- CONSTANTIA NEK- DAMS- NURSERY RAVINE From Constantia Nek, hike up the jeep track the dams and back through Nursery Valley, down Nursery Ravine, returning on the Conur and Bridle paths the cars. PAARL MOUNTAIN - BRETAGNE ROCK FROM TAALMONUMENT Hike from the Taalmonument up a gentle incline the p of Paarl Mountain, then past the camping area and on Bretagne Rock via a wooded kloof. CAPE POINT- SHIPWRECK TRAIL & SIRKELSVLEI Hike from Olifantsbos along Shipwreck trail on the beach, then over Sirkelsvlei for tea, and back the cars. Bring Wild Card, ID or R 147 entrance fee. Rain cancels. 's cell is BUCHUKLOOF WINTER RAMBLE Hike from Nuweberg Forest Station up the jeep track the turnoff Buchukloof. Hike the waterfalls and return the same route. No swimming possible as the cold rivers might be in flood. Stunning views of mountain scenery and beautiful fynbos. TOKAI ARBORETUM A walk around the Arboretum and area above see how it has recovered from the last fire. A slower paced hike. Wildcard/ Greencard or R28 for parking. CAMEL ROCK TO FISH HOEK Starting from Camel Rock, hike Kleinplaas Dam past Rooikrans, Jonkersdam and then across Brakkloofrant, overlooking Fish Hoek Valley, and ending in Fish Hoek. Cars be shuttled. 's cell is TABLE MTN- CLEFT PEAK & MAGIC FOREST VIA JEEP TRACK Difficult Hike We will start at Constantia Nek, ascend up the jeep track, past Nursery Gorge and on Cleft Peak with great views. Return back via the Magic Forest, Orange Face and past De Villiers Dam, and back the cars. This is a recce hike and will be done at a moderate pace. Round the dam and back down the river the cars. Rain cancels. If unsure, call on. HAROLD PORTER BOTANICAL GARDENS, BETTY'S BAY Walk around the gardens on the Disa Kloof and Leopard's Kloof Trails. Beautiful shaded walks, stepped, with beautiful views of the ocean as you ascend, the climbs made easier with wooden ladders. Enjoy the waterfalls, pools and the tranquility. Day 1: Climb over Potberg and stay at Cupidos Kraal hut. Day 2: Hike down Noetsie Bay. Day 3: along the coast vis Stinkgat (swimming) Hamerkop. Day 4: along the coast Vaalkrans. TABLE MTN- PIPE TRACK Hike from Kloofnek along the Pipe Track Woody Ravine. Wonderful views over Camps Bay and Clifn! KOGELBERG- PERDEBERG FROM FAIRY GLEN From Fairy Glen at the Palmiet River, hike up Perdeberg Peak (647 m) taking the path north where it joins the path Kleinmond. GROOT CONSTANTIA & GREENBELT Starting at Groot Constantia, hike in the vineyards and various adjacent Constantia Greenbelts. CAPE POINT- BUFFELS BAY TO KANONKOP Start at Buffels Bay, walk along the coast past Bordjiesdrif, Black Rock, lime kiln and up the valley Kanonkop with beautiful fynbos and lovely views over the sea and Peninsula. Circle back along the ridge the Visirs Centre and back Buffels Bay. Bring your Wild Card or pay at the gate. GIFBERG A wonderful hiking retreat in Namaqualand (Vanrhynsdorp area). Amazing spring flowers, rock formations, authentic Bushman paintings and incredible beauty. Hike the Bushman Trail (10,5 km) and Gifboom Trail. There is also the Pothole walk. Home-from-home, well fitted cottages with electricity and beds & bedding. Bring food and winter hiking kit. KOMMETJIE- COBRA CAMP Hike from Slangkop Lighthouse along the boardwalk Long beach parking area past Skilpadvlei through Kommetjie village past St Norbet Catholic Church up Slangkop Cobra Camp and descending back Lighthouse. Lovely views. TABLE MTN- CECILIA FOREST TO RHODES MEMORIAL After a car shuffle, we walk up the conur path from Cecilia Forest and on Rhodes Memorial. Mostly on the conur with some steep ups and downs. Lovely views of the southern Peninsula across False Bay. Drinks & eats at the Rhodes Memorial Cafe. SILVERMINE- SUNBIRD CENTRE TO THE WATERFALL Hike along the attractive Silvermine River's edge and then head up the mountain wards Maiden Peak and traverse along the road until the waterfall where we will sp for tea. KOGELBERG - LEOPARD'S GORGE Starting at Oudebosch in the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, ascend the Oudebosch river valley the p of Leopard's Gorge, where the waterfall plunges in Leopard's Kloof and there are excellent views of Betty's Bay. OSTRICH TRAIL, GROTTO BAY About 60km up the West Coast is the Grot Bay Nature Reserve which forms part of the Cape West Coast Biosphere. Hike through the strandveld and on the beach. Day 1: Start at Port Alfred Eastern Beach Milkwood hut on Rufane Farm (±8,6km). Day 2: Rufane Farm Riet River Tree Houses (±13,67km). Day 3: Tree Houses Three Sisters (±6,97km). Day 4: Three Sisters Kleinemonde West River mouth (±2.9 km) then 9 km paddle & ±3 km hike Lily Pad Hut. Reaching Nyala Valley Game Reserve you shoulder your backpacks for the hike the overnight hut, where you can enjoy the beauty of the reserve, looking out for nyala, giraffe, impala, zebra, wildebeest, etc. The overnight hut is set in an indigenous forest. Day 5: Lily Pad Hut Sne Cottage (3 km hike & 8 km paddle back river mouth) plus ±10km hike cottage. Day 6: Sne Cottage Fish River Mouth (±14,34km).
