10 Rave Reviews It s been a while since our return, and we ve been in a constant state of denial. Having become accustomed to solitary confinement for hours at a stretch, interrupted only by brief intervals of inane banter, the brain is no longer equipped for life in an office environment. The mileage was grueling, but justified by the magnificence of all there is to see and all the people who make America what it is. In every bar, restaurant, supermarket, drive-thru coffee shop and town that time forgot, characters abound. If this sounds uninspired, it s because we re at a loss for words. 12 Frequently Asked Questions How do I book a FLYRIDE-USA vacation? You can book your holiday by telephone and/or , or through your travel agent. Send in your reservation request we ll get back to you with motorcycle availability ASAP. What s included in a Self-guided Package? Motorcycle rental, basic liability insurance, rescue/recovery membership, hotel reservation service (reserved with your card, balance due at check-in), airport transfers, BlackBerry smartphone, on-the-road tour support (via SMS), comprehensive orientation, route maps, collision damage waiver, empty luggage storage, and unlimited mileage. Where do we fly to? FLYRIDE-USA s local airport is Lewiston, Idaho (LWS). Our fly-in customers generally travel via Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC) or Seattle, Washington (SEA). Flights to LWS are incredibly scenic. Get a window seat! What about airport transfers? LWS-SHUTTLE provides easy transportation between Lewiston Airport (LWS) and tour lodgings in Joseph, Oregon. Airport transfers are included with FLYRIDE-USA Self-guided Tour Packages. Should we start riding on our arrival day? Most customers arrive one or two days before the start of their tour. It is recommended that international customers arrive at least one day early for acclimatization. Do we ride every day on suggested routes? FLYRIDE-USA Classic Routes include rest and contingency days often staying two nights at the same location to provide relaxation, sightseeing and the opportunity to explore (see: What gear should we bring? We recommend comfortable (on and off the motorcycle), protective, lightweight, breathable, weatherproof, layered clothing; lightweight, breathable, weatherproof boots; unscratched/new tinted and clear visors; two (summer and winter) pairs of gloves and good quality sunglasses (that work with your helmet). What level of experience is required? Riders are required to have two years fully-licensed regular/ongoing riding experience on 600cc+ motorcycles. What documentation is required? Riders will need their motorcycle operator s license and a credit card. Non-US citizens will need their passports. Documents must be valid through tour dates. What kind of accommodation can we expect? We use well-located, customer-recommended lodgings, usually with swimming pool, hot tub, laundry facilities and breakfast. We also work with properties within the boundaries of National and State Parks. What will the weather be like? The weather in the Western States and Provinces is predominantly sunny, dry and warm from mid May through late October. Temperatures can vary widely with elevation. What about empty luggage? For your convenience, empty luggage can be left in storage with FLYRIDE-USA for the duration of your tour. Are there optional excursions? Grand Canyon flights, Monument Valley 4X4 tours, Columbia Icefield tours, Yosemite hiking, Hoover Dam Hard Hat tours, Rogue River jet boat tours, Rocky Mountain 4X4 tours, Columbia River sternwheeler cruises/dinners, jet skiing, North America s steepest mountain gondola, dinner trains, whale watching, horse riding, festivals, concerts, natural hot springs, beaches, spas, historic hotels, National Park lodges... What is the Vehicle Security Deposit? The VSD is a credit/debit card authorization (not a charge) for US$1950. It is recommended that all riders confirm the availability of funds on their credit/debit card account before travelling. What is Collision Damage Waiver Insurance? In case of at-fault vehicle damage/loss, optional CDW conditionally limits rider s liability to US$1950. If CDW is declined, rider s damage/loss financial responsibility may be rated up to the replacement value (MSRP) of the vehicle and accessories. What is New Tires Supplement? Avoid mid-tour tire changes (and possible inconvenience). Optional NTS guarantees new tires fitted to your bike from day-1 of your tour. NTS is required for tours over 20 days.
