The Dalles Teddy Bear ride 2 Teddy Bear run started in Middleton on Friday 4-26-2013 at 8:00 AM. Gary, Lonnie, Richard, Diana, Michael, & Dee met at Sunrise to start our trip to The Dalles. We stopped at Fossil for lunch and Gas and then we were back on the road, taking all the back roads instead of the freeway. We got into The Dalles about 6:00 pm without a hitch. Michael and Dee met up with Bob and Delphina Hoxie to get their new Honda Goldwing Trike. Saturday we went to the parade, was a little unorganized. Some of the bikes went down the parade route before they blocked off traffic but other than that the parade went well. There was a good number of bikes and trikes with stuffed animals everywhere. We dropped off our teddy bears and then went for a ride led by Dennis Miles. There were 4 motor cycles and 5 trikes, we went through the orchards then to Klickitat river. We cut across the mountain to Glenwood for lunch about 50 miles. We then stopped at Easy Corner for pie, but they had no pie. We then went back to town. Some left us there and the rest of us went to Rowina lookout and across the mountain back to town. It was a good day and a great ride. Sunday we left The Dalles after breakfast at 8:00 AM for home. Had a few sprinkles but didn't get too wet. Mostly had good weather if you don't count the wind. Stopped in John Day for lunch and then off to home. Got home about 5:30pm. All safe and sound and had a good time. Delia

Hope House Ride Hope house ride was on this last Saturday. The Harley group took over sponsorship from GWTA. I think they did a really good job. There was around 16 bikes, 9 trikes and 1 crotch rocket. We went on the usual route through Marsing and back to Hope House. Almost everyone took the kids on many rides. I know I took 5 kids on rides. All together there was $1590 raise for them. Donated items were 42 pillow cases, many buttons, which the kids separate and sell. An assortment of cookies were also brought, although I m not sure if any of the kids got any, as we are good cookies eaters. Many business donated very nice prizes that the riders won by a random ticket drawing. I really think Donna Lee needs to be commended for doing such a good job with these kids from broken homes and also being abandoned for whatever reason. She doesn t accept any Federal or State money.
