Washington DC Unit Region 2 Unit 170 PRESIDENT S LETTER Linda Moore Hello Members and Affiliates, What a great Thanksgiving holiday weekend we had. It brings to mind all the things that I am thankful for! The first thing I am thankful for is my family but directly after that family comes my Airstream family. I am thankful for the friendships and camaraderie that I have with everyone. I have come to know many of you and I look forward to the friendships that I will form in the future. WAM and I were not able to make it to the Fall Leaves Rally but I hear that it was a great success, as all of our rallies are! There is no one rally better than the other and they are all different experiences. That is what I love about our unit; we can count on rallies but look forward to the different experiences we have based on who hosts the rally! We have some wonderful rallies planned for next year. They are listed in this issue. We do have a change for the first rally next year. We were going to cohost a rally with the Mid Atlantic Unit (MAU) in May 2016. Howard Lefkowitz invited us to join them for his yearly Maintenance Rally. Sad news came that Howard passed away recently. We met Howard once and he was a wonderful man and loved Airstreams. He was very knowledgeable about Airstream mechanics and wrote the Care and Feeding of your Airstream in the Blue Beret. Our condolences to his family. Contents: -Presidents Letter -Rally Reports *Fall Leaves -2016 Rally Schedule -Call of Hosts -Join/Renew Info -Officer List -Airstream Market -Links -One Moore Thing -Rally sign up flyers Don t forget to send in your WBCCI dues as soon as possible. You may not make the November 30 th deadline to be in the WBCCI directory but you won t want to miss having fun with our unit or any information about our rallies. Our treasurer John DiBella says we still have some membership renewals that have not come in. Please don t let your membership lapse, we would all miss you! That is all from me! On with the Holidays and I wish you all a great month ahead. Please have fun in your travel adventures and stay safe! Linda RALLY REPORTS Capital Times Vol 16 Issue 8 November 2015 Page 1

Fall Leaves Rally Oct 30 Nov 1, 2015 Host: Michael Vallen According to Michael there were 7-8 trailers at the rally. Here is a rally report from Carol Assaf and yes, I stole the picture from the website. It was too pretty not to use in the newsletter. Thanks to whoever took the pictures. Shenandoah River State Park is a beautiful park nestled between Front Royal, VA and Luray, VA. It is only a few miles from Skyline Drive, a beautiful scenic drive through Shenandoah National Park. Chris and I drove from Front Royal to Luray on Skyline Drive. The fall foliage was stunting, vibrant reds, yellows and orange hues glowing around every curve. We were hoping to see a bear, but not this trip. The campground is spacious and each site has electric and water hook up. The sites are large and provide privacy between sites. Most of the sites have beautiful views of the Shenandoah Valley. Walking trails surround the campground from an easy path along the river to a more difficult path going uphill through the woods. This park is one of our favorites and it's a tradition to come back every fall! Capital Times Vol 16 Issue 8 November 2015 Page 2
