LESLIE STREET CONSTRUCTION SCOPE The Project involves multiple utility improvements, TTC track work, roadway, and sidewalk/streetscape construction Municipal Utility Upgrades New storm sewer Comissioners to Queen New sanitary sewer New watermains Utilities Bell, Rogers, Cogeco, Telus, Enbridge, Hydro 22

LESLIE STREET CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE Construction occurs in 2013 and 2014 Most heavy construction will occur late May 2013 to December 2014 (exact timing TBC) Coordinated Construction one major contract Most construction activities north of Lake Shore will occur over approximately 14 months Starts south of Lake Shore Boulevard late May, 2013 Queen St intersection tentatively scheduled (March-May 2014) and Leslie from Eastern to Queen (April-August 2014) 24
OBJECTIVES FOR COMMUNITY 1. Ensure Safety for Pedestrians, Cyclists, and Drivers 2. Maintain Access to all residences and businesses 3. Keep traffic moving on major E-W streets (reduce infiltration) 4. Fast-track construction to minimize duration 5. Pro-Active Communication (local community, TTC riders, cyclists, motorists, trucks) 6. Implement Live Traffic Monitoring to identify hot spots and adjust accordingly 25
IMPLEMENTATION 1. Ensure Safety for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers - At least one sidewalk on one side of the road always maintained, appropriate signage & safe crossings - Bike trails maintained in existing or alternate location - Signage program 2. Maintain Access - Maintain access to all businesses and residences on Leslie throughout construction - Temporary accesses from Lake Shore Blvd to Loblaws/BK and Tim-Wendy s/price Chopper Plazas 26
IMPLEMENTATION 3. Keep Major Roads Moving (reduce infiltration) - Maintain 5 of 6 E-W lanes in each direction (Queen, Eastern, Lake Shore) through majority of project - Remove Lake Shore middle median temporarily to provide lanes - Maintain minimum of 4 E-W lanes during Queen St intersection work in 2014 - Avoid constructing two major intersections at same time 27
IMPLEMENTATION 4. Fast Track Construction - One major contract to coordinate multiple utilities under one umbrella - Segmented closures to complete full sections in one phase (except for short weekend track installation period) - Examine potential for extended work hours in some locations to speed project 28
