I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall!! I am enjoying the cooler weather in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Some of us are in the middle of a caravan heading to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Doug Wylie is leading a six rig caravan. Joining in the caravan is Joane Ermis, Doug, Sheryl & Shannon Wylie, affiliate member Dee Bryant, Morgan & Barbara Flournoy (TGCU), Fred & Ruthanne Richardson (TGCU) and Robert & Susan Warner (TGCU). We started in Haskell, Texas and headed for Eagle Nest, New Mexico. In Eagle Nest we met with Region 11 members where affiliate members Roger & Jan Pruter are President and First Lady of the Region. Every morning we woke to 29 degree weather but the afternoons were perfect in the 70s. There were 22 rigs at the Region rally, a big difference from our Region 9 rallies. We had a great time there visiting with new and old friends. From Eagle Nest we traveled to Santa Fe, where we will stay until the Balloon Fiesta starts. Linda & Gary Shelton met up with us in Santa Fe while they are traveling Route 66 and heading to Los Angeles, California. There is a lot to see in Santa Fe in a short time. We took a hike at Tent Rock, did some shopping downtown, toured some historical churches and enjoyed happy hour and grilling dinner every night. Doug Wylie made homemade vanilla ice cream one night, Fred Richardson made peach ice cream another night and Barbara Flournoy made home made sherbet. Susan made a chocolate cake that was so yummy!! We will leave in a couple of days and head to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. The Balloon Fiesta is a first for everyone on this caravan. I will take lots of pictures and include them in next months newsletter. The next rally will be in November and Joane s Installation Rally in Snook, Texas. Please let me know if you will be attending. Be safe in your travels and hope to see you soon. Airstream Hugs, Shannon Wylie, President, THCU
