2 P A R S O N S M E A D Bewley Homes would like to welcome you to Parsons Mead, our latest prestigious development in the leafy village of Ashtead. It appears in the Domesday Book under its Saxon name of Stede and this lovely village has had inhabitants since at least the Iron Age. Interestingly, Ashtead had the first AA sentry box which was installed in 1911.

There is a good range of shops within easy reach of Parsons Mead to serve local day-today needs. There are two pubs, Ashtead Village Club and a wide variety of cosmopolitan restaurants and cafes to choose from. Golf enthusiasts are well catered for with both the Leatherhead Golf Club and the RAC Country Club close by. Leatherhead Golf Club was founded in 1903 and is a fine example of a Surrey parkland golf course with ancient oak trees lining the freeways and subtly contoured greens which are regarded as being amongst the finest in Surrey. The RAC Country Club is a private members club boasting over 100 years of history and tradition with a Royal title awarded by King Edward VII in It has two 18-hole golf courses complemented by numerous other sports facilities, which include an indoor swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, treatment rooms and gym equipped with the very latest equipment. Ashtead village is self-contained in respect of doctors, dentists and community help including a health clinic and library. St. Giles church dates back from the 12 th century, and is mentioned twice in Samuel Pepys diaries, there s also the newer St. George s church as well as Roman Catholic and Baptist churches. Schools in Ashtead are a mixture of state and private all are well supported by parents and boast a good standard of facilities and examination results. There are also many pre-school playgroups which are very popular. Leisurely pursuits are manifold including Epsom Racecourse just 2 miles away home to one of the most iconic events in the British sporting social calendar The Investec Derby Festival.
4 P A R S O N S M E A D Just five miles away is the National Trust s Box Hill, an area of outstanding woodland and chalk downland supporting notable populations of bats, orchids and the hill s namesake, the box tree. It has much to offer the rambler and naturalist with many beautiful walks and views over the South Downs. The route to the top car park from the A24, known as the Zig Zag Road, is very narrow and is a popular test of fitness by road cyclists. For those of you who fancy a relaxing stroll or an invigorating hike to blow away the cobwebs Ashtead is perfectly situated Ashtead Common is a 500 acre public open space which has been part of the Epsom and Ashtead Commons Site of Special Scientific Interest since 1955.It is an ancient wooded common with over 2,300 ancient oak pollards providing a stable habitat for many rare and endangered deadwood species and includes two scheduled Ancient Monuments a Roman villa and a triangular earthwork. Ashtead is ideally situated being only 10 miles from Kingston-upon-Thames, with famous retailers like John Lewis and Bentalls. Your favourite high street names, plus a collection of fun and funky independent boutiques all set in relaxed, pedestrianised areas. Richmond offers much more of the same and just exudes style, as well as providing London s largest town centre open space. While places like Ham have an almost village-like atmosphere for an escape from all the hustle and bustle. There is something very special about Ashtead, it is the ideal location for anyone wanting a rural location but within easy reach of London, indeed the best of both worlds.
5 Ln By Road With the M25 and A24 close by, easy access to London and the south is close at hand. Follow the A24 and you can be in the centre of London in 45 minutes or via the M25 and M23 you can be on the beach in Brighton in an hour. By Rail Ashtead train station is only 1 mile away and has access to both London Waterloo and London Victoria train stations meaning in only 45 minutes you can be enjoying the bustling vibe of the city. By Air London Heathrow is approximately 35 minutes drive and London Gatwick approximately 30 minutes drive, so the gateway to the UK, Europe and the rest of the world is close by.
