2 Project Name Location Social Enterprise & Biosphere Reserve Strategy in the World MAB Action Plan Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Reserve Lochside House Hotel - New Cumnock, Ayrshire KA18 4PN, United Kingdom Date Wednesday, 28 th October Friday, 30 th October 2015 Purpose Need We wish to bring together participants from national and regional MAB networks to contribute to the MAB Action Plan to be launched at the 4 th World Congress of BRs in Lima, Peru (March 2016) Create an open and collective response to affect real progress and maintain the momentum concerning social enterprise in biosphere reserves. Social enterprise has been introduced in current action draft plan as a result of ASC s work, but we wish to maintain this level of detail & identify specific actions for short-, medium- and long-term e.g.; - establish a MAB thematic network for social enterprise - a range of case studies and other relevant information - other actions which emerge during our discussions and knowledge sharing during the conference Aims Development of specific targets and actions and create a northsouth bridge to cultivate knowledge sharing between BRs
