1 East Lothian Health Network, The Public Partnership Forum in East Actio n Plan October 2013 Ap ril 2014 L othian The aim of East Lothian Health Network is to improve the way it works so that it makes a difference to the people of East Lothian. This action plan sets out the how the Network plans to do this by identify key objectives over the next 6 months. 2 Progress from previous action plans Objective 1: Improve the way the Community Health Partnership () and East Lothian Health Network (ELHN) work together Some sub committee papers now have a cover paper giv purpose of the report and summary of the issues. All papers include an Involv people section. Some sub committee papers meet standards set by NHS Lothian: short reports (these need to include enough information to make reports understandable) plain English, no acronyms. Meets were held with David Small, general manager, to discuss the budget in Objective 2: Improve how the East Lothian Health Network (ELHN) communicates with its wider membership, organisations and the wider public within East Lothian The name has been changed to: East Lothian Health Network, the Public Partnership Forum in East Lothian Health Network members have attended community engagement seminars and local community activist train East Lothian Health Network page on NHS Lothian website has been reviewed and is kept up to date. See online link here General meets are now be held in different towns includ Musselburgh, Gullane and North Berwick The Health Network hosted a meet in June 2013 with representatives form voluntary organisations & the public to discuss: What public involvement should be in the integration of adult health and social care? This event was followed up by a survey that was sent of targeted groups within East Lothian. A report with recommendations from the Health Network was submitted to the subcommittee and the shadow board for integration of health & social care in September MJDeans East Lothian Health Network, the Public Partnership Forumk in East Lothian (PPF) Action Plan March 2013 March 2014 updated Page 2 of 6
3 Objective 3: Ensure East Lothian Health Network s involvement and representation in capital projects, strategies and service design within East Lothian ELHN had representatives on East Lothian Community Plann Partnership health and social care theme group. This group no longer exists follow the restructure of community plann in East Lothian. See information about the East Lothian Partnership structure online link here There is representation by ELHN on the Edton and Belhaven Hospital forums, the Joint Older People s Plann Group and the New East Lothian Community Hospital stakeholder group. An ELHN sub group made a response to the on its options paper about Edton Hospital in March The follow objective has been removed from the action plan: Improve how East Lothian Health Network (ELHN) manages the business meets and communicates with the wider membership The Health Network mail list has been amended so that members only get information they have requested: there are three types of information mail lists: 1. full papers for business meets (this includes feedback forms from ELHN members at meets & events), 2. ELHN business meet agenda and minutes, 3. ELHN newsletters and publicity about general meets. A system of feedback forms from Health Network representatives has been put in place. These are sent out with the business meet agenda (to those who have requested them) so that Network members can come to the meets prepared with questions and comments.
