Information for teams has already been sent by the OC to all National Federations. Please contact us if you need help. You may also contact the Department of Immigration directly at: Welcome Desk at the airport Upon arrival at the airport, dedicated volunteers will meet you in the arrival zone. Volunteers will escort you to your dedicated transport bus to the hotel and regatta venue. If you are bringing your own oars to Sydney and Penrith, please tell as soon as possible. You must book a transport with the OC to ensure that they have suitable vehicles on standby. INFORMATION FOR COACHES AND ROWERS Entry Deadline Monday, 11 March 2013, midnight (CET) First Team Managers Meeting and Draw Thursday, 21 March 2013 at 16:00 hrs The location will be notified to Team Managers at a later date. Tickets The Sydney International Rowing Regatta is a ticketed event. Teams and competitors will have free entry to the venue, via an accreditation provided by entering the regatta. 4 Sydney OTHER INFORMATION Reception The Nations' Dinner will take place on Saturday, 23 March at 20:00 hrs. Two representatives from each federation are invited. Weigh-in Coxswains and lightweights have to weigh in according to the FISA Rules of Racing. The weighing centre opens two hours before the start of the first race. The scales are located in the Bay 3 of the Boathouse. Liability Participants are responsible for acquiring insurance for their equipment and persons. The OC shall not be held liable for any damages incurred in the regatta venue area. Team Medical Staff Team medical staff (Doctors, etc) are required to fill in the appropriate visiting medical professionals forms to be authorised to practice medicine in Australia. Please contact us immediately if you intend to travel with a team doctor. Please note that the Sydney International Rowing Regatta (SIRR) is for the first time ever, a combination of a National Rowing Championships and a Samsung World Rowing Cup. World Cup teams may also race in the Australian Open Rowing Championships in preparation for the World Cup at no cost. 5 MEALS & ACCOMMODATION Team Accommodation Hotel rooms of different levels have been reserved for all World Cup teams at Official Organising Committee hotels. This information has already been sent to Team Managers from every Federation. If you are still planning to race in Sydney but have not contacted the Organising Committee or FISA, please contact the OC urgently at: for accommodation options and bookings. Availability for teams is now very limited. Official Media Hotel Please contact the Media Manager to book media accommodation options and bookings. Contact Cora Zillich at: The dedicated Media Hotel is the Sebel Hotel Parramatta. A dedicated media shuttle bus will run each day of the competition. Transport Service Transport service will be provided ONLY for the participants who have booked accommodation through the organising Committee. It includes: Airport transfer to/from the hotels Oars/sculls transportation from the airport to the venue and back will be offered by booking request only to: info@rowingdownunder.org Shuttle service from the hotels to the regatta venue and back, operating from 18 March 24 March Price: $20AUD per person Meal Arrangements All meals will be served at the OC hotels. The teams also have an option to have breakfast and lunch at the SIRC regatta course. Orders must be placed (and paid) at least 24 hrs in advance. By Car Eton Dorney is 5km (3 miles) from Junction 7 of the M4 motorway. The M4 connects central London to Bristol in the West of England and passes Heathrow airport. By Airplane London Heathrow is the nearest airport. It is a distance of 23km (14 miles) from the course and is approximately 20 minutes travelling time by road. London Gatwick and London Luton airports are also accessible to Dorney Lake. Gatwick is a distance of 68km (42 miles) and Luton is 66km (41 miles). Both airports are approximately 90 minutes from the course by road. The official transport service will operate from London Heathrow Airport only, and must be booked through the Organising Committee. By Train Eurostar, a high-speed passenger-only train service operates from Paris, Brussels and Lille to London St Pancras train station. The journey from Paris to London St Pancras takes 2 hr 20 mins. There are connecting trains to Slough and Taplow Stations from London Paddington and to Windsor & Eton Riverside Station from From Junction 7 of the M4 motorway, the venue can be accessed by taking the sliproad west on the A4 (signposted for Maidenhead). There will be specific event signage for the World Cup to direct traffic to the venue. By Sea The recommended ferry route for boat trailers is Calais to Dover, which takes 90 minutes. Dover has good access to the M20/M26 motorways, which connect directly to the M25/ M4 (journey time of hours, Dover to Eton Dorney). By Tunnel The Channel Tunnel is also recommended for boat trailers. Vehicles and trailers are loaded onto trains, which take 35 minutes from Calais to Folkestone. The meeting will take place at the regatta venue, in the boathouse building. 10 Eton Dorney MEALS, ACCOMMODATION, TRANSPORT Team Accommodation Accommodation information and the booking form are available at All rooms are single rooms (one bed) and have en-suite bathroom facilities. Both accommodation venues Royal Holloway University and Brunel University are University Campuses. Meal Service Breakfast and Dinner will be provided at the accommodation. Lunch can be taken at either the accommodation or the regatta venue, but must be booked in advance through the Organising Committee. The booking form will be available at www. wrcupetondorney2013.com/teams Breakfast and Dinner at the accommodation are included in the half-board rate and will be posted on the website shortly, Lunch must be booked separately and in advance. Booking Conditions All bookings for teams for the official accommodation & transport services must be made through the Organising Committee. Bookings open on 1 February 2013 Final Booking Deadline is 30 April % Deposit Payment will be invoiced when the booking is received. All bookings must be made online at www. wrcupetondorney2013.com/teams/accommodation Accommodation Cleaning & Damage The Team Manager/Coach is responsible for ensuring the accommodation is kept in good condition. Any costs which result from damage or negligence have to be paid by the user of the accommodation. It is strictly forbidden to prepare meals or to remove any electrical and / or other installations from the accommodation. Transport Service Transport service will be provided ONLY for the participants who have booked accommodation through the organising Committee. Departures from the airport are every 30 minutes as of 05:15 hrs. Upon arriving at Lucerne s main station (Hauptbahnhof), take bus No. 1 in the direction of Maihof and get off at the "Weggismatt or "Maihofhöhe" bus stop. On foot from there, follow the signs down to the lake. When driving from Zurich airport, take Motorway A4 (Zurich-Zug-Luzern) and follow the direction Luzern. Take the Emmen Sud exit and follow the Rotsee signs. By Train You can reach Lucerne s main station (Hauptbahnhof) from all directions by train. From there, take bus No. 1 in the direction of Maihof and get off at the "Weggismatt or "Maihofhöhe" bus stop. On foot from there, follow the signs down to the lake. When arriving from the West, take Motorway A1 (Geneva-Berne-Zurich) and exit at the Oftringen Wiggertal which will lead you to Motorway A2 (Lucerne-Gotthard-Milano). Take the Emmen Süd exit and follow the Rotsee signs. When arriving from the East, take Motorway A1 (St. Gallen-Zurich-Berne-Geneva) and then change to Motorway A4 in direction Lucerne. Take the Buchrain exit and follow the Rotsee signs. It will be held in the media room of "Neue Luzerner Zeitung", Maihofstrasse 76 (it is located on the main road, above the Regatta Office). Maps will be distributed to the Team Managers at the Regatta office. OTHER INFORMATION Training The venue is officially open for training daily from Wednesday, 10 July 2013 from 7:00 until 21:00 hrs. On racing days, training is allowed from 6:30 hrs until 30 minutes before the first race. Order and cleaning The Team Manager/Coach is responsible for keeping the accommodation in proper condition. It is strictly forbidden to prepare meals or to change any electrical and/or sanitary installations. All costs which result from damage or degragation have to be paid by the user. The OC will not be held liable. Number of beds: Limited Payment 50% on reservation; 50% upon arrival Low-cost accommodation We are able to offer a limited number of beds in low-cost bed & breakfast accommodation at the Youth Hostel, near the finish area (see attached application form). The accommodation will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Validity of Reservation The reservation is confirmed as soon as the deposit is registered by the Regatta office. Beds and rooms that have been booked but have not been fully used will be charged. 15 MEAL ARRANGEMENTS AT THE VENUE The Lucerne Regatta is pleased to offer your athletes lunch and dinner at the Rotsee for the special price of 16 CHF per meal. The meals are especially prepared with rowers in mind and will be served in the Athletes' Restaurant Tent in the boat area. There will be two menus to choose from; one always includes pasta and salad. A half litre of mineral water is included (free) with each meal. Team Managers and coaches should order the meals in advance - see enclosed form. This form should be sent together with the entries. The tickets will be available at the Regatta office (open from 8:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs). There is other food and drink available at reasonable prices. The Organising Committee provides a limited number of transport possibilities for teams staying outside Lucerne. Please book your transfer in advance at info@ruderwelt-luzern.ch. Your transport is only confirmed when you receive a written confirmation from the OC. During racing days you can book your transport directly at the transportation office in the boating area. Important: the restaurant tent is only open to rowers and admission will only be possible with the prepaid tickets. Orders for these meals must be made before 1 July 2013 on the enclosed form, to be sent to the Regatta office. For registrations received after 1 July 2013, meal prices will increase. The restaurant "Ruderstuebli" will be reserved and available for rowers as a rest area. TRANSPORT Teams staying at the hotels in the city may order bus tickets at reduced rates.
