2 2 This transport guide is designed to give you information on possible public transport bus routes and our designated Coach Service. At West Lancashire College we aim to support our learners and ensure the cost of transport is not a barrier to success in college. Learners may be entitled to Free Transport.* To find out if you are eligible call the Learner Gateway on where a member of the team will tell you more. West Lancashire College is pleased to offer a FREE Arriva bus pass to full-time further education students (aged years) who need a bus to get to college. Passes will be issued in the first term for all* learners commencing a course with us in September Additionally other services in West Lancashire may be eligible for learners to be reimbursed for the cost of travel. We also offer a FREE Coach Service from Kirkby, Fazakerley, Aintree and Maghull areas to Skelmersdale! To qualify for a free bus pass learners must maintain attendance of 90% or above throughout the academic year. All bus passes are issued on a first come first served basis and are subject to West Lancashire College terms and conditions. Please call the Learner Gateway on and ask for more information about these great opportunities. *Subject to availability and eligibility criteria check. Terms and Conditions Students should clearly identify themselves to the bus driver if they wish the bus to stop and pick them up. Bus drivers may change, so this is essential every day practice to ensure the bus stops for you. Learners must show their College ID Badge to the driver each time they use the service learners will not be allowed onto the bus without their College ID Badge. Students are expected to treat the bus drivers with respect and courtesy bad manners or behaviour will result in exclusion from the free College bus service. No food or drink should be consumed on the College bus and students are expected to remove all rubbish or litter they may create during the journey to and from College. Students should check the College website on a regular basis to check for changes to times or routes. In the event of adverse weather conditions, students should check the College website prior to leaving home.
