5 8 LIBRARIES ARE FOR BOOKS AND READING 9 LILLIE ART GALLERY Steven Berkoff: Gorbals March 4 April 2019 This body of work covers a period in the autumn of 1966, when Berkoff was an actor with the Citizens Theatre. In the days he had off from acting, he would be out exploring with his camera, using that time to photograph the environment around The Citizens. He was fascinated by the appalling decay of the Gorbals, which was waiting for the iron ball of the demolition workers. These photographs capture most of it just in time. Like many photographers, he was drawn to slums and decay, because these are the areas in which I was brought up. Young People s Art 2019: In Conversation With. 16 March 4 April Relaxing Reads Venue - William Patrick Library Dates - Wednesdays 30 January 27 February and 27 March Time pm Cost - Research shows that reading reduces stress, can help lower your blood pressure and can improve your memory. This is a highlight show for families and young people in East Dunbartonshire. The annual exhibition allows the young people of East Dunbartonshire a professional exhibition setting and platform to highlight their views, aspirations and talents through creativity. Ally Thompson A Life in Paint 12 January 21 February Ally Thompson ( ) was one of the golden generation of figurative painters associated with the New Glasgow Boys who studied at Glasgow School of Art.
