Thank you to The Co-operative for donations of food and to KerNat Cakes for their donations of cupcakes Changes to the Hand in Hand constitution were announced and will be circulated by to all with track changes. to allow the required 28 days, there will be a EGM at Aug meeting to confirm/agree the changes ACTION: KG TO CIRCULATE CONSTUTION 2 nd Hand in Hand AGM with proceeding led by Grenville Chappell. Nominations for Chair Keith Guppy proposed Dave Matthews and seconded by Andy Pepper Vice Chair George Davis proposed by Michael Hunt and seconded by Dave Matthews Treasurer Andy Pepper proposed by Dave Matthews and seconded by Margaret Doney Secretary Sarah Brindley proposed by Dave Matthews and seconded (in her absence) by George Davis Grenville passed the Chair back to Keith to continue the meeting, Thank you Grenville and thank you to our honorary officers Chairmans report Keith Guppy thanked everyone for their support with Hand in Hand especially to Michael Hunt who stepped down from Chair role in December for all his hard work and commitment to Hand in Hand. Thank you to Wendy Russell, Dave Matthews, Wayne Parsons for their involvement on the Executive committee and to Robin Horsley the previous treasurer - an official Thank you from the partnership. And also to the agencies, without their support the work of Hand in Hand would not be possible. Success stories for last year Finally we have a dog bin installed (only 24 months later)

2 Introduction of the Bingo bus has been a success Great communication between residents and all agencies round the table Good communications with Morrison s during the build Plans for the future/ next 12 months To be more organised!! Get Bank Account open Apply for funding for bigger projects Promote and help local businesses Get more residents involved by getting out in the community and talking. Identify peoples needs and how to help Treasurer s report 232 in the kitty at present Bank Account not quite set up but nearly there. Sign off minutes - Proposed & Seconded Matters Arising Notice board at Inverteign Heights: Lesley Browne(DCH) followed this up and it has been approved. Andy Pepper has agreed to be resident key holder. Dog Bin this new bin is being used and is presently being emptied once a week. Bingo Bus Booked for Thursday 27 th June with pick up at the Meadow Centre Dave Matthews suggested looking at other pick up points. Thursday have been picked as it is free entry. It is first come first serve for 16 seats. ACTION: Sarah Holmes to put on KRA facebook and Keith on HiH facebook. Sarah & keith to meet up to work out best dates/days for future School Outreach Rounder s at the school on last day 23 rd June was suggested Fete is 2-4pm so it will be after 4pm.Suggestion of using Facebook pages to advertise and also posters. Surestart,Teign Housing and Fire Service will be involved maybe poster could read Agencies versus children. Also Robbie will look at bringing a suitable fire appliance. ACTION: PCSO KELLY BEERE TO SPEAK WITH SCHOOL AND LIAISE WITH ROBBIE W WOODS Road Safety Day can this be organised for the school fete? The walking bus will be trialled in the next school year noted that there needs to be more than one route including Kingsway, Mill Lane and The Avenue. Go Kart project sadly this didn t happen. Dave Matthews offered toolkit if it should be re-organised. Handyman Service feedback is why is the per hour charged by Teign Housing so expensive for this area?? ACTION: Tina Henry to send details of Devon County Council service Safe at Home

3 Residents Issues Overgrown bushes by steps to Morrisons These bushes need attention ACTION: ROB KELLEY Also discussed the plans for the footpath from Kingsway to Morrisons that is accessible for all. There was 30k 106 money that was set aside to level the path, but the costs associated with such steep steps exceeds the allocated 106 money, Suggestion that staggered steps could be a solution alike the ones at Inverteign ACTION: ROB KELLEY TO LOOK AT THE PROCESS AND FEEDBACK AT NEXT MEETING Speeding Group A meeting is to be arranged to meet Peter Brunt in July. More complaints from residents about speeding in Kingsway a speed camera will be set up. Chris Clarance can arrange the community speed gun if required. Free Running Chrisse Rowe from Broadmeadow Leisure Centre has had a free running group approach her about running sessions in Teignmouth. They already have them in Newton Abbot and Exeter. The cost would be 6 per session and if funding was applied for storage of the large vault boxes and running tracks could be built in. There would be no problem allocating short term funding but ideally it would want to be more sustainable. Chrissie would like to have idea of numbers of interested youth. ACTION: CHRISSIE TO HAND IN HAND TO MOVE FORWARD South West Water Reservoir The land needs to be maintained and is really overgrown could Hand in Hand adopt it and plant the area? Issue about liability were raised and it was suggested that rather than adopting could we negotiate maintenance. Rob Kelley suggested contacting Community Payback who may be able to clear the land there would be a cost approx. 100 and they would need an element of supervision and somewhere to dispose the rubbish. Lesley suggested that HiH could apply to DCH to fund once permission from landowner had been given. Chris Clarance suggested that as SWW are not living up to their responsibilities we should ask them to fund community payback. ACTION: ANDY PEPPER TO CONTACT SWW (and also whilst in contact also ask if HIH can put a dog bin on the wall and also permission for notice board- whilst Andy & Lesley will go and look at for best location) Parking on bend at bottom of Kingsway. The cars parking is causing a blind spot and an accident waiting to happen ACTION: KELLY BEERE TO SPEAK WITH THE OWNERS OF THE CARS/ ALSO FEED INTO SPEEDING GROUP MEETING Rat runs/parking - Speeding group should rename traffic group and although the main issue to concentrate on in the July meeting is speeding issues also need to flag up all the other issues. Chris Clarence informed the group not to be put off if they say there is no money money can be found or raised. Group need to ask Where is the best place for yellow lines to solve parking issues

4 ACTION: WITH ANDY PEPPER & SPEEDING GROUP Friends of the School-School fete is 23 rd July 2-4pm could police bring the riot van and could fire service come along? see earlier notes School outreach Changes to times/dates of meetings: - feedback from parents is 6pm start is not good. Agreed to trial 7pm start for next 2 meetings and review. Agreed Wednesdays are best and it should be changed to a regular every 2 nd Wed in the month. Keith circulated a calendar and all agreed that there should be a quarterly Hand in Hand activity starting with Hand in Hand BBQ ACTION: NEXT MEETING WILL BE 7PM ON 10 th JULY, AND PLEASE ALL ACTIVITY IDEAS TO KEITH Agency update Fire Service Robbie Woods the Fire Service are looking at resources with view of prevention and protection They will spend 3 /6 months in each town within the South Devon area to identify vulnerable residents and high risk properties. Teignmouth would be happening very soon. Walkabouts will happen and tie in with police and housing Town Council Dave Matthews Public meeting about Shepherds Lane development. No application has gone in yet and DCC Highways are to meet with the council and invite residents. It is unanimous that this should NOT be allowed. Link to developers website: TDC Leisure Centre Chrissie Rowe Chrissie is happy to help with any activities especially during the summer months. TCDT Teignmouth Community Development Trust June Green Presently in negotiation with KRA to have 2 days a week in the Meadow Centre. Lots of ideas and waiting for community to indicate what they want. TDCT want to compliment what KRA deliver not compete. The centre is for hire on TCD 2 days get in contact with June Green. Teignbridge District Council Rob Kelley 1.Moving forward to establish a partnership in Buckland in Newton Abbot. Meeting on 24 th June and Michael Hunt is coming to talk about Hand in Hand. Suggested that Rob invites them to a Hand in Hand meeting. 2.Neighbourhood Plan will be going through in the autumn. 3.Active Communities Funding- DCC to deliver sport activities in targeted areas for the whole age range not just young people. The questionnaires that Wendy and Saul worked on with the young people could be used to identify activites. ACTION: WENDY TO IDENTIFY RANGE OF ACTIVITIES WENDY/CHRISSIE/KEITH/SARAH HOLMES TO MEET UP TO MOVE FORWARD KRA Dates for KRA Summer scheme Junior Scheme 29 th July to 9 th August Senior Scheme 12 th 23 rd August
