For the purposes of this Register, assets comprise the Council's property including land, buildings, plant and equipment, vehicles, etc. that will be of economic benefit to the Council over a period substantially longer than one financial year. 2. is an informed assessment of the open market value of the assets or the cost of reconstructing them in their existing condition. The insurance value is generally a good approximation of this. 3. Assets that are held as community assets such as playing fields, war memorials, etc. are included in this Register either at their acquisition cost at a value of 1 if this is deemed by the Council to be a more appropriate current valuation.
