1 The Dubois House With their gingerbread trim and ornate decoration the Queen Anne style is what most people imagine when they think of a Victorian house. Houses of this style were built throughout the country between 1880 and WWI. They could be found in towns and cities of all sizes. Many remain today, some lovingly restored to their former glory. The prototype for our kit is located in Livingston Manor, NY. It was built in 1884 for A.P. Dubois, a successful merchant in town. It still stands today, beautifully restored, a survivor from an earlier era. HO DUBOIS HOUSE BRA 600 Dimensions - 6"x6"x5-1/2" HO - 1

21 The Deluxe Farmhouse There is an interesting story behind these two Farmhouses. They were owned by a couple of brothers, separated at birth. When the folks at Branchline heard the story of the brothers, they knew they HAD to build these two very different versions of the American farmhouse. Both owned by 2 brothers who enjoyed their homes and their wealth, just in different ways. We can almost see them sitting in their favorite rocker on their front porches. The first brother, Malcolm, was a Boston Attorney who longed for the simple life and decided to become a Gentleman Farmer. He built a more extravagant home with a touch of Victorian flair that was all the rage back then, complete with a wrap-around porch and decorative trim.. HO DELUXE FARMHOUSE BRA 652 Dimensions - 4"x7"x4" The (Simple) Farmhouse HO FARMHOUSE BRA 653 Dimensions - 6"x5-1/2"x2-1/2" The other brother, William, on the other hand, grew up and worked hard, farming since he was a child. 23 Cannaan Station L The Canaan, Connecticut Union Station was built in 1872 at the junction of the Central New England and Housatonic railroads (both later parts of the New Haven). A major architectural landmark, this station stood intact and essentially as built until 2001 when an arson fire destroyed a major portion of the station, including its distinctive tower. The damage was severe enough that most observers considered the remaining portion of the station to be doomed. However, a grass roots local effort along with state and private funding has meant that, like a phoenix, a restored Canaan station is returning from the ashes. Owned by the Connecticut Historical Railroad Association, the station is being rebuilt to is former glory. (You can follow their progress or donate to the cause a at This kit provides an accurate* period model (circa 1940) of Cannan station based on plans provided by the restoration firm along with copies of the original plans along with information provided by the New Haven Railroad Historical and Technical Association. Kit will include wood, resin and photo-etched parts, Grandt Line baggage carts, appropriate signs and posters and much more... *The plan has been modified slightly to accommodate commercially available 90 degree diamond crossing (the original is at about an 87 degree angle) but can be modified for those that want to portray it accurately and lay their own track. 25 Flag Stop Station This kit is based on a structure in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania on the Reading Railroad. Similar designs were also built for the Pennsylvania Railroad. HO FLAG STOP STATION BRA 662 Dimensions - 2-1/2"x3"x2" Centre Hall Station Centre Hall was located on the old Lewisburg and Tyrone Railroad, later part of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The station was built in 1884 and expanded in the 1920's with the addition of an operator's bay and a larger freight room. The station still stands today, now converted into a restaurant. We have modeled the station as it appeared in the 1940's. HO CENTRE HALL STATION BRA 663 Dimensions - 13"x4"x3-1/2" HO - 25

26 Santa Fe #4 Station z Platform Kit HO STATION PLATFORM BRA 666 Dimensions - 16"x4-1/2" Like many large railroads, the Santa Fe developed a number of standard structure designs that could be tapped when a building was built anywhere on the system. The #4 branchline station plan included a fairly sizable freight and baggage room. The #4 depot could be found in moderate sized cities anywhere on the system. Add-on platform kit also available. HO SANTA FE STATION BRA 665 Dimensions - 12"x4-1/2"x3" Munnsville Station O A classic board and batten depot from the 1880's, Munnsville ("Munns" on the railroad) was located on the Northern Division of the New York, Ontario & Western RR in upstate New York. The station was abandoned when the railroad went out of business in The building fell into disrepair until purchased by O&W enthusiast and author John Taibi who has restored it to its former glory, complete with working telegraph! 30 The Creamery HO CREAMERY BRA 680 Dimensions - 9-1/2"x7"x4-1/2" The Ice House Prior to the 1950 s the railroads hauled nearly all of the milk that was consumed in the larger cities. Local farmers would deliver cans of Bessie s best to the local creamery where it would be inspected, stored, chilled and shipped to the city in milk cars. The prototype for our kit was built at Clark s, NY on the New York, Ontario & Western. Similar designs were found throughout the Northeast. To keep milk and produce chilled to the proper temperature railroads relied on ice that was harvested in the winter and stored in insulated ice houses. The protection these buildings offered meant that the ice would remain intact and usable throughout the year. Ice houses could also be found at yards and terminals to top off milk cars and reefers in transit. The prototype for our kit was a New York, Ontario & Western standard design built in several places along the line. Similar designs could be found throughout the Northeast. HO ICE HOUSE BRA 681 Dimensions - 8-1/2"x5"x4-1/2" Meat Packing Plant HO MEAT PACKING PLANT BRA 682 Dimensions /2"x7-1/2"x4-1/2" Our meat packing plant is based on a prototype built by Swift in Burlington, VT. Similar buildings could be seen throughout the Northeast and in other areas of the country, and the design was not unique to Swift, with similar designs being used by Armour and others. Such a plant would get in whole carcasses in meat reefers specific to the brand. Butchers in the plant would cut up the carcasses for retail trade, and from here the finished product would be shipped out by truck to retail locations. HO - 30

31 The Engine House This classic single stall engine house will be at home on most layouts, from shortlines and branches to logging and industrial lines. While typical of designs throughout the country, the prototype was built for the Central Vermont. In addition to cover for the locomotive, this building also includes a machine shop addition allowing light repairs to be made on the locomotives. HO CALDWELL TOOL & DIE BRA 685 Dimensions - 7-1/2"x6"x5" The Gas Station HO GAS STATION BRA 687 Dimensions - 9-1/2"x7"x4-1/2" The local service station was a fixture in towns throughout the country. Pump attendants would pump your gas, check your oil, wash your windshield and trade stories. The local mechanic would do all sorts of maintenance and repairs based on years of knowledge and without the use of a computer diagnostic system. As cars have become more complicated and time more precious this type of full service station is fast disappearing. HO - 32

33 The Flour Mill This kit is right at home on any layout and could easily be used to represent a number of other industrial uses. His small shop was often piled so high inside with junk that folks wondered how he could move around, but he always seemed to manage. Dan worked on all sorts of things, but loved working on rusted out cars the most. He was forced to retire after an unfortunate incident where he accidentally hit himself over the head with a hammer.
